  • She heard his call of anguish and raced to help him. She saw the tips of his silver ears dissappearing under the deep, rushing river. She took a deep breath, and plunged her head in, groping around with her mouth open, trying to find his scruff. When she couldn't find it, she jumped in, looking around with her eyes open underwater. She caught a blurred glimpse of him flailing around beneath the surface, and she began to paddle swiftly down the river, intent on saving him.

  • She finally reached the limp tom. When she saw him not moving, she began to panic. She grabbed his scruff and began to pad toward the shore, the river swelled with rain.

  • He wasn't breathing...his eyes were opened underwater so long that water was dripping off of them.

  • She dragged him onto shore, and looked at him. "Anthony!" She yowled worriedly. "No...Anthony! Please, wake up!" She began to massage his chest with her paws, trying to make him cough up water.

  • She kept rapidly massaging his chest, even though she knew. "Anthony...No...I'm...Not...Losing you!" She began to smooth her paw strokes up his throat.

  • Anthony started blinking and flipped over and throw-up the water, he coughed and started gasping for air.

  • She gasped in relief. "Oh, Anthony!" She mewed, and pushed her nose into his fur. "Are you alright? I'm so glad you're okay."

  • He was still breathing hard, when he noticed the she-cat above him. "I'm fine..." He said "Because of you..." he purred.
