Midnight padded out to an empty part of the camp. The scars on her made her seem weak, but it was her size that was her downfall. She sat in the corner, and gazed into nothing.

"Hey, Midnight!", Wave called out, trotting over to her. "Why are you moping around?"
-
"Hi, Wave," Midnight mewed, turning her head to the tom, still feeling downcast. "I was in the battle against Snowclan, and my injuries really hurt. I'm so small...." Her voice trailed off as she looked off into the distance again.
-
"So, being small's not so bad. It means you're harder to hit. As for the injuries, Dreammeadow would be better suited for that.", Wave said.
-
"Thanks, Wave," Midnight mewed quietly. "She already looked after them. They don't hurt as bad. I just wish I wasn't hurt this bad." She pointed her tail at the place where her left ear used to be, now just a scrap of fur. "Why does it have to happen to me?"
-
"Don't know, honestly...", Wave replied, "Guess you're not lucky..."
-
"I guess I'm not," Midnight mewed, a bit disappointed. "Well, I'm lucky to have you, and my friends and family. That counts for something, right?"
-
"Yah!", Wave replied, trying to be as cheery as possible.
-
"Yeah, that is a good thing!" Midnight replied, catching on to his attitude. "I'm certainly glad I have you." She pressed her muzzle into Wave's side, and let his scent overcome her.
-
"Yah...", Wave said, blushing.
-
"You okay, Wave?" Midnight said, seeing his blushing.
-
"Yah, I'm fine", replied Wave.
-
"Okay. Can you get me some fresh-kill? I'm kinda hungry," Midnight asked, hoping for a "Yah".
-
"Um, yah, sure...", he said, padding over to freshkill pile, he picked up a mouse and brought it over.
-
"Thank you, Wave," Midnight said, feeling better. It was nice to have people looking after her. Her mother... she didn't even want to think about her.
-
"Where do you come from anyway?", Wave asked. He himself was a child of Stormnight. Nothing too exciting. But, he had no clue about Midnight.
-
"Truthfully, I don't know," Midnight responded, "It's kinda a blurr...."
-
"Ahhhh......", Wave said, "Strange......"
-
"Trust me, I know," Midnight said. "I hope that's no problem?"
-
"Nope, no problem!" Wave replied.
