Brazenpaw took deep, oxygen rich breaths as she felt her kits come. One... two... she thought she was done, but she wasn't. A third kit landed at her side.
The first kit was a handsome silver tom. The top of his head looked like a rock with the moon smiling on it, a metallic color. She licked his head, and whispered, "Metallickit."
The second kit was a brown tabby, looking almost exactly like Brazenpaw. But her ears were as big as a baby rabbit's! She smiled as she named this kit, "Rabbitkit."
The third kit looked a bit like Glacierpaw, his father, but with a lighter shade of silver. She licked between his ears, and mewed softly, "Cloudedkit."
-----
Rabbitkit mewed with protest. This wasn't Mommy's belly! It was much colder, and less crowded. She quickly latched on to Brazenpaw, and suckled happily.

Quietly, Lostdream watched the miracle of life unfurl before his eyes. How amazing, he thought, Brazenpaw was now a mother. Being the quiet type, he usually didn't talk very much. However he knew at a moment like this he had to say something. "They're beautiful kits." He said to Brazenpaw, while staring intently at the three helpless kits with his green eyes. I used to be just like that, he thought to himself.
-
"Oh, thank you," Brazenpaw mewed, still looking at the beautiful cats below her. "Glacierpaw! Laconicpaw! Come quickly!" she called out of the nursery.
----
Rabbitkit felt more bodies move against her. She let out a loud mew as she bumped against Metallickit. -
Lostdream continued to watch from a distance with his head on his paws. He found joy and entertainment as he watched the three kits. They were so innocent, he thought.
When finally he decided he had seen enough of the energetic kits, he got up in search of others to observe.
-
Brazenpaw layed her head down, and fell asleep. She was tired after her kitting.
-----
Rabbitkit finished suckling, and happily rested her head. This place didn't feel so bad now. -
Cloudedkit let out a growl and pushed himself into the thick warm fur. The tom latched on to a teat, and began suckling.
>Is it all right if he's blind?
-
<You want Cloudedkit to be blind? Won't he just become an elder then? Unless he can find a way to hunt and fight, no.>
"Cloudedkit, you're already a warrior," Brazenpaw mewed softly, getting up from her nap. "You'll be as great as your father."
----
Rabbitkit woke up, but didn't feel like suckling. She started to crawl around, and rested her head on her mom's paw. -
>Well, blind cats can't become warriors, but I really would like some tragedy in the family
Cloudedkit let out a mewl and curled up.
-
<okay, I guess. But you have to be an elder, if you can't fight and hunt.>
Brazenpaw noticed Cloudedkit curled up, and licked his fur the wrong way to warm him up. It was freezing out, and she didn't want her kit freezing.
-----
Rabbitkit stretched herself, and let out a loud mew, so her mom would notice her. -
>Oh, that'll be okay. He'll be first elder then...
Cloudedkit let out a mewl as he felt a rough tongue crush his fur.
-
<k>
Rabbitkit grew tired, and layed her head down to sleep. -
Cloudedkit let out a small squeak of satisfaction as she snuggled deep into his mother's fur. The silver spotted tabby soon fell asleep.
-
<I think I'm going to double speed them, do you want to? If they're double time, they can open their eyes (Well, Rabbitkit and Metallickit) and hear>
Rabbitkit woke up, and opened her big brown eyes. She made a huge yawn, and rested her paws on one of her mom's paws.
-------
Brazenpaw looked down to see her kits opening their eyes. "Oh, look at you! Your growing up!" she said happily. -
>Sure. It's fine with me
Cloudedkit twitched in his dream.
-
<k>
Rabbitkit wandered toward Cloudedkit, and prodded him with a paw. She knew he was sleeping, but she wanted to do something. -
Metallickit had been relatively quiet throught the young moments of his life. But the kit was hit with a wave of personality and lifted his head, attempting but failing to open his eyes.
-
"Metalickit, look at you! Come here, baby!" Brazenpaw mewed with excitement.
-
Cloudedkit let out a soft growl at all the movement. He wanted to rest, not be kept awake by random things. The tom raised his head and let out a pitiful squeal.
-
Brazenpaw saw Cloudedkit's discomfort, and stopped her movement. "Sleep, my baby. It's okay," she whispered softly, rubbing his head with her paw.
-----
Rabbitkit looked at her mom with big, brown eyes, and squealed with irritation. Cloudedkit wasn't doing anything, and he got all the attention of Mommy! Rabbitkit stood her little self up, and walked a few shaky steps in front of Mommy. -
Cloudedkit let out a burble of happiness. Now this was much better. The silver spotted tabby fell happily asleep.
