Srivian rested near the entrance to the cave. His kits where playing nearby, laughing and wrestling in the warming sun. The tom yawned before standing up. He sprayed his scent by the entrance on his way out, he wanted to make it clear that this was his cave. "Don't wander off now, Leanne!" he said sharply and glared
at the she-kit as she was trying to sneak away.

Nino whined as one of his siblings wrestled him to the ground yet again. He managed to get away from his siblings grip and ran over to his father, hiding behind him and watching his siblings suspiciously.
-
"You don't stand a chance, Nino!", Lunian said before rushing towards his brother. He sneaked up behind Srivian before jumping straight up into the air and landing on Nino. With his claws sheathed he started wrestling with Nino.
-
Dewmist looked at the kits playing from the brambles that surrounded the clearing. Her marbled lynx point pelt masked her body among the bushes and thorns. Beside her, was a cream tabby kit. Her single kit, Autumn. He was a handsome little tom, and her most loved cat in the world. She had given birth to him in Snowclan territory, and had been wandering every since. She hoped that another cat with kits would be kind to her. Unlike those Bloodclanners.....
Dewmist shook her head to clear it. She swept her tail around Autumn's mouth, signaling him to be silent. She peered through the bushes with her silver eyes. Behind her, the cream kit stepped on a twig, snapping it loudly. He shot her a scared look.
-
"Hiya!" The ferret squeaked to the cats hiding in the undergrowth. "What are you guys doing here? You smell like clan cats." Sylvester was unaware of the cats inhabiting the cave and kept his attention on the she-cat.
-
Srivian looked up, suspiciously, towards the bushes where the sound had came from. "Kits! Come here quickly" he hissed towards his young. He picked up Leanne while pushing the other two into the cave. Srivian placed the snow white kit on the rock floor before turning his attention towards the bushes. "Who's there?" he called out while trying to catch a scent of the spectators, but the wind blew in the other direction, telling him nothing about what was approaching.
-
He blinked in surprise, wondering if he should come out of the bushes and show himself. With a sigh, he tried to divert the attention away from the clan cats. "It's just me." Sylvester gave a small smile to Srivian. "Hello, nice to meet you."
-
Dewmist backed away quickly from the ferret. What a nuisance! He just gave us away! she thought fearfully. While he was trying to divert the attention, the tom seemed to still be suspicious. Autumn rolled her eyes as the ferret stepped out into the open to greet the cat. They had eaten ferret before. It wasn't half bad. Dewmist looked on from the bushes, thinking that they might as well just go out before things got worked up. Dewmist sighed. It's now or never. The marbled lynx point swept Autumn behind her and she crept slowly out of the bushes, and climbed out of the bracken. She glanced nervously from side to side, and Autumn looked on from behind her.
-
Srivian hissed in surprise at the ferret. This was not was he had been suspecting. "What do you want?" he said sharply, a ferret could easily kill his young kits. He shoved them further back into the cave, determined not to let them come near the intruder. The fur on his back stood straight up and he flicked his ear as Dewmist and her kit showed themselves as well. "And who are you? What where you doing in the company of this creature?" he meowed while nodding towards Sylvester. "Father, I wanna have a look!" Lunian said and quickly ran past Srivian with his head held high. The tabby coloured kit ran straight towards the ferret and Srivian let out a panicked yowl before dashing towards his kit. He quickly snatched him up in the scruff and backed away from the ferret and the newly arrived cats. He placed him back inside the cave and and hit him, softly and with his claws sheathed, over the head. "Don't ever do that again, Lunian! Do you hear me?" he hissed towards his son.
-
Falling had been watching the scene from up above on a nearby tree branch. He let his small tail dangle over the edge of the dry branch and he peered down below at the odd sight. He wrinkled up his nose at the ferret
but couldn't help but feel a bit of admiration for the creature. After all cats ate ferret sometimes, and either this ferret was brave or...Really dumb. Either way he wasn't going down there anytime soon. First off, that ferret could probably eat a kit like himself and secondly the larger cat (Srivian) didn't seem to be that pleased right now. So for now, he'd just watch. -
Dewmist shot Srivian a scared look. Like I'd want to be with a ferret as company! Dewmist whispered urgently to Autumn. "Autumn, if we need to run, run like you've never ran before." The kit nodded, blue eyes stretched out wide. Then Dewmist looked back at Srivian. "We are not an aqquaintance with this ferret. I-I am, I mean, we are just traveling through. It came out of nowhere!" She stammered. She had a bad meeting with many clan cats farther back in her journey and now when a cat seems threatening, she gets very paranoid.
-
"And how should I know?" he meowed sharply. "Stranger things have happened ..." he muttered to himself while holding out his paw in front of Lunian to make sure he stayed put. "What's your name?" he said towards the she-cat and her kitten. He relaxed his posture a bit but his claws remained unsheathed. "I'm Srivian, and these are my kits, Lunian, Leanne and Nino".
-
Dewmist straightned up and let her fur lie flat. "Dewmist, and this is my kit, Autumn." She introduced herself. Then she meowed more calmy, "I can assure you that I am not traveling with a creature that could harm my own kit. " Dewmist growled, watching the ferret. Autumn jumped out from behind her to see the tom. "You don't scare me!" He hissed indignantly. Dewmist pushed the it behind her. "Autumn stay back. " She muttered to him.
-
Srivian looked at Autumn with an amused smile. "I never intended to scare you, young one".
He looked back at Dewmist and meowed, "You are not part of a clan, am I right?" .(OOC: Sorry for the late reply!)
-
OOC: No problem! ;)
IC: At the word clan, Dewmist tensed up and narrowed her eyes. "No, why do you ask?" she meowed suspiciously. Anyway, why wouldn't she be? So many clans had already chased them out. Some nearly killed them. Ony one clan had ever been kind to them. Many of them left scars to remember them by.
Autumn, who was as curious as ever, was about to spring forward to get a better look froze. His bright eyes focused on something by the entrance to the cave. He cocked his head to one side, as if whatever it was had been speaking to him. Dewmist glanced in that direction but saw nothing. Not even a leaf that the kit was looking at. She brought her attention back to Srivian.
-
"It's not easy raising kits without a clan. I'm not in a clan either, and the kit's mother has disappeared with the forth kit ..." he meowed quietly, his eyes clouded with emotion.
The remaining kits noticed that their father was getting less hostile and Lunian and Leanne trotted forward towards Autumn. "Hi there! What's your name?" Leanne meowed. -
Dewmist nodded as Srivian explained, relaxing herself a bit.
Autumn snapped back to reality at the kit's question. The cream tabby kit crept out from behind his mother, who let him by, since these cats seemed nice enough. He sat down infront of them, excited to meet other kits. "My name's Autumn!" He mewed. "What's your names?"
-
"I'm Leanne!" the pure white kit said, "And these are my brothers, Lunian and Nino". She looked mischievously at him with her blue eyes before quickly spinning around biting Autumn's tail while giggling hysterically.
Srivian glanced at his daughter nervously before looking up at Dewmist. "I've decided to trust you, because I desperately need to get some freshkill. Could you stay here and make sure nothing happens to the kits?" he meowed while watching her carefully for a reaction.
-
Autumn mock-growled and bounded cheerfully after Leanne.
Dewmist nodded at Srivian's request. But a sickening thought came to her. I only met him today, and now he's trusting me with his own kits..... She thought. He must be really desprate... Trying to keep the sympathy out of her eyes, she responded. "Yes, I will." She meowed. "They're safe with me."
-
"Thank you ..." he meowed quickly without looking her in the eyes. He gave each of his kits a quick lick between their ears before running towards the forest with the hunger gnawing in his stomach. "The kits must be starving by now ..." he thought to himself. Srivian completely avoided any thoughts of the kits getting hurt because of Dewmist. He simply had no choice. He started to pay attention the scents of the forest and quickly picked up the scent of a vole.
Leanne pounced and started wrestling with Autumn while growling playfully. Lunian trotted towards Dewmist and sat down in front of her. "Hi! I'm Lunian, I'm two moons old. I'm dad's favourite."
