  • Leafsoul's misty blue eyes were glazed over with pain as she trudged alongside the riverbank. Why do things always go wrong? This was the only thought running through her mind. Her paws were sore from walking so far from camp. She figured he should be getting back soon, but she couldn't. Not after her previous mate had just died. She couldn't bring herself to do it. She would just keep walking.

  • Meanwhile, a colour-point rogue with three white paws and a scar along his broad shoulders prowled on the opposite side of the riverbank. His sharp, keen senses picked up the scent of the she-cat, and immediately, he was curious. It had been a while since this rogue had seen other cats, and he was glad that he may have someone to talk to for once.

"Hello?" He called to Leafsoul from across the river, stepping up to his chest in the water.

  • "Hello..." Leafsoul looked up at the rogue, eyes filled with surprise. "What brings you here? I rarely see rogues around the river..."
She shuffled her paws across the moist ground below her. She couldn't help but feel as if this cat reminded her of her previous mate.

  • "I'm just passing by," He explained, leaping towards a tall rock that stood out f the water. The tom jumped stone to stone until he reached the other side or the river, his long tail hanging into the water. "Now tell me, why is a pretty she-cat walking out here by herself?" The rogue questioned once he was a rabbit hop away from Leafsoul.

  • "Just taking a walk..." Leafsoul murmured. Although she was uncomfortable speaking to a rogue in her clan's territory, she felt compelled to keep speaking to him. What was it about him that made her get drawn into a trance...

  • OOC: Sorry, my threads accidently got marked as read. >.<

    IC:
"Where're ya walking to?" The rogue questioned curiously, as she seemed not to walk in any particular direction. "I came from the mountains," he explained, flicking his dark orange tail to the mounds of rock towering in the sky. The tom suppressed a sigh. The fire earlier that year was a shame, and he was being forced to look for a new place to live.

  • OOC: Np.

IC: "No where, really," Leafsoul let out a sigh, and gazed out at the mountains looming over her and the rogue. "I guess I wasn't really thinking about where I was going to go when I started walking..."
Leafsoul shuffled her paws across the muddy ground, her tail resting lightly in the water below.

  • "Eh, I'll sometimes do that too, just walking and thinking." The rogue meowed, looking off into space as if in deep thought. He shook his head, bringing him back to reality.
"I'm Oxford," the tom introduced himself out of the blue, not knowing what else to say. "Rogue of many lands." He paused for a moment to admire Leafsoul's beautiful eyes. "And who are you?" Oxford asked with a gentle smile of his round face.

  • "Leafsoul, of Thunderclan," Leafsoul replied quickly. "It's nice to meet you, Oxford."
She giggled nervously for a moment, before realizing how stupid she must seem. Suddenly the ground looked ever so interesting, and she stared directly at it awkwardly. "Sorry!" Leafsoul hurriedly apologized. She wanted to get to know this cat, and her foolishness was making it difficult. She probably didn't meet his standards, him being a rogue of many lands. She was only Leafsoul, of one land.

  • "Ahh...Leafsoul" Oxford thought dreamily to himself, admiring her beautiful name.
"Thunderclan?" He repeated in disbelief, recalling the last part of her sentence. He had always had a grudge against the clans ever since his father was exiled unjustly, and his mother left the clan to be with him. The tom's heart sank with sadness. I could never be with her after what her kind did to my parents, but I can't just leave her. Already I feel as if I'm in love with her.
"No matter," Oxford added, settling himself down on the river's shore and swiping his large paw over his head a few times.

  • Leafsoul's tail drooped at Oxford's reaction to her mentioning Thunderclan. Did he have something wrong with Thunderclan? Will he hate me now? She wondered, her eyes widened with worry. She quickly padded to Oxford and lay beside him. "Are you staying here long?" Leafsoul questioned.

  • The rogue tilted his head off to the left and pondered Leafsoul's question. He wasn't exactly comfortable around large groups of cats, and doubted these cats wanted him around their territories. "To be honest, I'm not sure what I'll do. It doesn't feel right to stay on your clan's land," Oxford admitted. "If I do decide to stay for a bit, would you promise not to tell a single soul?"

  • "Yes!" Leafsoul replied quickly, her eyes shining. "I promise!" Although her answer seemed sturdy, her mind was questioning her answer. Would it be safe for Oxford to stay? Was she putting him in danger by asking him to do this? She wondered guiltily. "Be careful, okay?" she whispered timidly. "Thunderclan won't be happy if they catch you..."

  • Oxford nodded thought-filled. "Then it's settled. I'll stay here for a few more sun rises before setting out again," He purred contently, glad to give his paws a rest for a while. The rogue flicked aside a shrub with his paw. This wasn't the terrain he was used to. "I'm not familiar with your lands. Would it be alright if you showed me around for a while?" The tom asked, then anxiously scratched at the dirt with his claws.

  • Leafsoul purred with delight at Oxford's request. "Of course... where first?" she mewed, a faint glimmer of mischief was in her eyes as she set her paws lightly on the ground. "I could show you around Thunderclan territoy... no patrols should be out at this time..."

  • "Alright, around your territory!" Oxford laughed with an infectious smile. "Perhaps we could check out your key features in your land? My parents mentioned some parts of these woods, but I was just a kit then, and I've forgotten what they mentioned," the rogue explained, then shook a leaf out of his fur with the flick of his head.

OOC: Sorry it's taken me so long to reply!!!

  • "Alright, then let's get going." Leafsoul began to pad closer towards camp, her ears pricked for any signs of Thunderclan cats. Her heart quickened as they padded onward, half expecting her clan mates to jump out at her and Oxford, scolding her for her actions with this loner. Could I be in love with a loner? Leafsoul wondered, her tail flicking nervously. Did this mean she was betraying her clan by seeing him?
