  • Hollyfire padded into the elders den with a squirrel in her jaws. She layed down and began to nibble on the prey. The she-cat wished she were young again. She wished she could run out into the forest catching fresh-kill again. Hollyfire thought back to all her warrior memories and sighed. "Isn't there anything to do here?" She asked anyone. The elder probably sounded like a young kit that way she asked. She was bored out of her mind.

  • <blockquote>Ebonywhisker padded in, looking around the comfortable den with respect in his wide eyes. Recently moved to the elders' den, he still loved to look at it every time he entered. "Why, hello there Hollyfire," he purred, eyes sparkling, with his deep and rumbling purr. "How are you? You look great." In truth, she did. Ebonywhisker'd always had a thing for red tabbies. He didn't know why, but there was something about a redhead.

{OOC- I can already picture them as the old grandparent couple. So cute. Also, is it okay if we act like they know each other? It's too unlikely for them both to be elders and not know each other.}</blockquote>

  • [ooc: Yeah they can know eachother]

Hollyfire smiled as the tom walked in. "Ebonywhisker," she greeted him. He was one of her only friends in the elder's den. "I'm fine. Yourself?" SHe asked politely. The elder purred as he told her she looked great. "Oh, don't lie." She had alwayd been self-consience ever since she was little.

  • <blockquote>Ebonywhisker widened his eyes, sincere. "No, I'm not lying. When we start to get old, you appreciate these things much more." He padded over to her, flicking his tail at the empty space beside Hollyfire. "Do you mind?" The feeling in his heart, the longing for someone who would be something more, was barely palpable, but it was there, and Ebonywhisker intended to act upon it.</blockquote>

  • Hollyfire smiled at the tom. "Go ahead." The more she talked to him, the more she realized she really liked him. She purred. In fact, he was probably her best friend. Oh how she wished that she wasn't alone. Hollyfire shivered at the thought of dieing all alone with no family or mate.

  • <blockquote>"Thanks." Even though he was older than he used to be, Ebonywhisker still held all the charm that he did when he was a young, strong, handsome warrior. He may not have tried to use it in the past, but he had. It was just natural to him, like breathing. "So how have you been?" he mewed, turning to face her. His eyes bore into hers, curious and serious. He really wanted to know. The fluttering in his stomach increased in tempo- Ebonywhisker was sure Hollyfire could hear it.</blockquote>

  • Old-Ears had been out, but came into the den to see Ebonywhisker and Hollyfire. "Hello you two," Old-ears purred. He sat down beside them and wondered what they were talking about. Old-Ears didn't ahve the best hearing which is how he got his name and he thought the question was directed towards him not hollyfire, since it looekd like they had been tlaking for awhile. "I'm fine, why thank you," Old-Ears mewed very fashionably.

  • Hollyfire smiled at Old-ears as he walked in. "Hello Old-ears," she greeted the elder. She giggled very quietly as the tom answered the question that had been intended for her. "I've been okay I guess. It's been very lonely around here is all," she told Ebonywhisker.

  • "Agreed," Old-Ears added in. "We need them kits to stop by more often. It gets lonely without telling them stories all the time. Either that or we need to move in with the queens so we can get some more action in our day."

  • <blockquote>Ebonywhisker laughed, twitching his whiskers. "I agree. They don't come around nearly often enough, except to pull ticks off us," he purred. He liked Old-Ears, and always got a kick out of hanging around the tom.</blockquote>

  • "Yeah and then they always complain. Especially all them apprentices that view that as a punishment. They should be thanking us. Since if we hadn't fought hard when we were waqrriors to help the clan they wouldn't be alive right now," Old-Ears chimed in.

  • <blockquote>"Good point," said Ebonywhisker, voice slightly amused at the other tom's words. "At least the kits like to come here stories sometimes. And I think some apprentices do, too, they just act like they don't, since they're so 'cool'." Ebonywhisker thought it was quite entertaining when apprentices tried to act older than their age. All apprentices had to help the elders- it was normal. He didn't know why they made such a big fuss out of it.</blockquote>

  • "I agree," Hollyfire said. "Yes, I love it when the young kits come to visit. I wish some of the apprentices would treat us with more respect sometimes." She remembered how when she was an apprentice she would still come to hear stories from the elders and wasn't embarrased.

    OOC: Sorry I'm late :-[

  • "I know. They've started some coolness thing and say apprentices that come ehre stories are dweebs," Old-Ears told the other two elders. " Well if they're dweebs then they just about insulted almost every previous Thunderclan leader." Old-Ears didn't like how snobby the apprentices were these days.

  • <blockquote>Ebonywhisker shrugged his shoulders. "Well, there's not much we can do other than just eat and lay around. That's all I'm good for these days, anyway." He didn't have much motivation to do anything lately. He remembered his days as a warrior, but didn't feel any need to go back to them.

{OOC- Sorry. Got grounded for leaving a pair of pants on the floor}</blockquote>

  • "Ture, true," Old-Ears agreed. "Or we could start forcing apprentices to mate with us like Horntail does." Old-Ears was joking and let out a chuckle after he said that. He didn't want to live his life with out love or kits, though and knew his time was coming close to an end. Old-Ears wondered if Hollyfire could be his mate and they maybe have kits or something along those lines.

  • [[OOC: So sorry for being late! Also, Froggie, Ebonywhisker and Hollyfire were gonna be mates eventually but I can picture a little mini plot coming up. Ebonywhisker could end up being her mate and Old-ears could be like her best friend? *brainstorms* Or if you want I could make an elder she-cat for him?]]

Hollyfire listened to the toms talk. She enjoyed being with both of them. Ebonywhisker and Old-ears where probably her best friends. "Ow," she said loudly. There was a thistle in her bedding poking at her leg. Hollyfire was embarrassed. Now she really wished the apprentices had brought fresh moss earlier.

  • <blockquote>Ebonywhisker was about to reply to Old-ears' comment, but when Hollyfire let out a loud 'ow', he quickly turned to see if she was all right. "Everything okay over there?" he asked, eyes soft. "Need anything?" Even in his old age, Ebonywhisker was still a helpful tom.</blockquote>

  • Hollyfire stood up and shook the thistle off of her leg and it landed back in the moss. "Um, I'm not sure." She was situated awkwardly. The orange she-cat looked up at Ebonywhisker. "Would you mind getting that out?" She pointed at the thistle with her tail. To add to her embarrassment, she stumbled backwards over some loose moss. "Oof!" Today just wasn't her kind of day.

  • OOC: Hey, Mind if I join?

SwirlPelt strolled into the elder's den to check in on some cats.
"Hey guys! Sorry for droping in, but NyxKit is FINALLY asleep and I had to get away from all of the new kits mewling out the day!
