SHOWDOWN! (time to end this thing!)

Winterfoot shook his head. "No," he grumbled. "I don't know what's taking Elliefang so long. Doesn't she realize the importance of this?" The deputy clawed the ground angrily.

Eclipseclaw limped over to Winterfoot, blood spilling down his white pelt. Plaguepaw and Infernopaw were on either side of the NightClan cat, supporting his weight. Plaguepaw glared harshly at Winterfoot, but Infernopaw just looked frightened. Finally, the trio reached Winterfoot, and Eclipseclaw sat in front of the deputy. Winterfoot narrowed his eyes, but said nothing.

"Winterfoot," Eclipseclaw began in his cold, harsh voice. "I'm sorry. For everything. I don't know why I ever followed Starnight. I hope you can forgive me for what I've done." He dropped his head, staring at his paws. Plaguepaw had kept his gray glare on Winterfoot though, looking hatefully into the deputy's eyes. Infernopaw shuffled his paws nervously, listening for Winterfoot's response.

Winterfoot closed his eyes for a moment. "You are forgiven, Eclipseclaw. Though you have wronged this Clan time and time again, you are forgiven. However, don't think I'll be so quick to trust you again. If you want it, you're going to have to earn it." Eclipseclaw looked hesitant for a moment, his green eyes showing the storm going through his mind, but he simply nodded in response. Plaguepaw couldn't help but let out a small growl of loathing, hating Winterfoot down to the tip of his tail. With a final hiss of anger, Plaguepaw turned and darted back into the battle, eager to tear into StarClan believing pelts.

Nightstalk too had padded over to Winterfoot and sat down next to his friend. "Well Winterfoot," he meowed. "I don't know about the whole trust deal. Some cats never change. But he's my son. And I promise you that I will keep him in line." He smiled at Skyfrost, as if he were speaking to her more than to Winterfoot. The deputy nodded, satisfied, and even Eclipseclaw managed to crack a weak smile.

"Well I don't trust any of you," Plaguepaw suddenly spat. He had returned to Eclipseclaw's side, and his fur was bristling intensely. "You're all mad. Foolish StarClan followers. You're all gonna die. Starnight can't lose." And with a final yowl of anger, he threw himself at Nightstalk. Winterfoot hissed angrily and lashed out at the young, white tom.

Plaguepaw was knocked backward from Nightstalk, his face bleeding. He looked up at Skyfrost and Winterfoot, snarling. "You are all going to die. NightClan will always win." He bared his teeth and leaped forward once more, aiming for Skyfrost. Though he was small, Skyfrost was only a bit larger than he, and he underestimated the strength of StarClan believing cats.

Plaguepaw stumbled backwards as Skyfrost's claws slashed across his left eye. He screeched in pain and fell to the ground, blood running down his face. "You're gonna die!" he snarled, scratching blindly at the air. "You're all gonna die!" Eclipseclaw shook his head, watching his son with pain in his eyes. Winterfoot simply sat, saying nothing.

Plaguepaw howled with fury and swiped at the sound of Skyfrost's voice. Eclipseclaw stepped forward and knocked his son to the ground. "This is what happens when you follow NightClan!" he howled to all the cats in the clearing. "This is what happens if you follow Starnight!"
