    River began to cry.
    The man in the back with her held a knife to her neck.
    " Just shut up. " he growled.
    She sobbed loudly and he slit her throat a little.
    Her eyes widened in pain as the small slit started to bleed.

    David kept running yelling her name at the top of his lungs, he tripping over the curb and rolled into the road. Cars swerved pass him, barely missing his limbs. He scrambled to his feet and darted as fast as he could towards the van.

    The man dug the knife deep into each arm.
    The blood dripped rythimically.
    He pulled the knife down her legs and cut her chest.
    The van stopped, and they threw her out on to the curb.
    Then, they drove away.

    David kept running nearly passing the stopped van it sped up and drove away. He tried to follow more but tripped over River. He rubbed his head and looked at her with horrified eyes, he pulled her into his arms and cradled her softly. "Its ok. its ok." He whispered in her ear.

    Tears streamed down her cheeks and she buried her head in his shoulder.
    " They said they'd be back.... " she whimpered.

    He rocked her in his arms, "but this time, i WONT let them get you. Even if its the last thing i do, it wouldnt be the same without you..." He said softly, trailing off near the end with a sigh.
    Cara walked along the side walk and recognized the two.     "Ummm? Is she ok?" She said as she appraoched David and River.
    David glared at her,     "NOT THE FREAKING TIME." He said sternly and turned his attention back to River.
    Cara put her hands up,     "SoRRY!" She replied and turned around and walked away.

    She curled up closer to him.
    " What did I do, David? Why do they want to hurt me? "
    She cried harder.

    David ran his fingers through her hair and stayed quiet. I only wish i knew.... Her question echoed through his head, confused he shook his head and sighed. "We need to get you cleaned up." He said as he lifted her from the ground and stated walking to his house. "I know someone that can help."

    She sobbed into his shoulder.
    The blood ran down her arms, legs, and throat.

    IC: He approached his house and opened the small white door, he gently set her on the leather couch and dashed down the hall to the medicine cabinet. "Found it!" He exclaimed and fast walked to River, holding bandages and gauze."This might sting, but trust me."He smiled and started to wrap up her wounds. Disinfecting each one individually before putting bandages and gauze on.

    She whimpered.
    " Why do they want me, David? " she asked tears still streaming down her cheeks.

    River lifted her head up.
    " Promise you'll never leave me! " she pleaded, actually sounding as if he would leave her.

    David blinked surprised, "NOT EVEN IN A MILLION YEARS." He held out his pinky finger and looked into her eyes with a smile.

    Instead of wrapping her pinky with his, she wrapped her arms around hus neck and kissed him.

    David hugged her back and leaned into the kiss.

    She looked into his eyes and pulled from the kiss.
    She sat there for a moment and kissed him again.
    Slowly, her body started drifting away from him.

    He sighed, David got out, now it was time to go to Nayla. "Nayla?" He questioned as he peeked around the dour way.

    Nayla gave a small shudder of pain as a flash of her eyes going to cat eyes then back to normal happened. She blinked rapidly "Yeah?" She whimpered.


    Rez growled and stalked out.

    occ: So, her body is going through magical changes, and the humans think it's cancer? Am I right?


    ic: he saw the flash, it was quick, but he saw it. "Are you ok?" He asked, coming in and sitting by her side.
