  • Hi, again, Groovy! Just need the genetics for Brazenpaw's and Glacierpaw's kits.
    Brazenpaw-brown tabby with brown eyes
    Glacierpaw-silver cat with blue eyes
    Subjet to change.

  • Here's Glacierpaw's full statistics

    He's a silver mackerel tabby with blue eyes

    His mother was a red cameo with amber eyes and his father a silver mackerel tabby with green eyes

  • "He's a silver mackerel tabby

    His mother was a red cameo"

    OUCH.

    ....Okay then. XD We'll just go without the parental info, I don't really need it here...thanks anyway Grimmy!!

    Brown tabby x silver tabby!

    Kits: Silver tabby, brown tabby, blue silver tabby or blue tabby :)

    Eyes can be anything!

  • *confused* What was wrong with Glacierpaw's parent info? Couldn't a Female RCameo X Male Silver MTabby produce a male silver tabby?

  • No, they could not. Black or red factor comes only from the mother in the case of male offspring. If she's a red, where's the black factor boy coming from? :P ALL her boys are going to be reds, and in the case of this mating, ALL her daughters will be torties or torbies, depending. The only exception to this would be if she bred to a white and produced white kits of either sex {white is not sex-linked.}

    ...What is more likely is that she was either a cinnamon silver tabby and not a red cameo, or, that she was a "hot torbie" silver, which means the red dominated, this time to almost the complete exclusion of the black factor. It happens, but it is very rare.

  • Oh, okay, I thought silver was part of the black gene making it where she could have black or red kits, but now I see.

  • Silvering is the inhibitor gene, which is inherited entirely separately from other colour genes, except for normal {non-silver.} It is not sex-linked. Only red vs black factor is sex-linked.
