The white kit sat, mildly surprised, before she purred happily. She was right. They were all right. Some of the words that the medicine cat spoke were long and hard to understand, but she got the gist anyway. Tail swishing contentedly, Bowkit wriggled around to settle more comfortably in her sitting position. She still didn't know what they were doing, but Snowbird appeared to be teaching them about the .. life of a medicine cat, maybe? Some of the words she heard, but the white kit could not understand. After pausing, she put up a timid paw. "Um," she began to stammer, hoping that she was noticed. "I - er - what does 'simila'ity' mean?" Hopefully she wasn't the only one that didn't know. She was quite young, anyway.

Then she paused, realising that she might not be supposed to be here. Quickly, the blue-eyed she-kit glanced about the medicine cat den, deliberately trying to ignore the powerful scents of the medicine herb thingies. They were important, so it wasn't an option for them to leave. She had to. Bowkit glanced momentarily over at the kit who had nodded in satisfaction when Snowbird had praised two kits. She was one of them, obviously. She wasn't going to address her, simply because she didn't want to attract too much attention (she'd probably failed at that, though) in case she was here by accident. There seemed to be several creatures here. A .. dog thingy? Oh, my.

The she-cat had been a golden tabby, so maybe she was Goldenkit. She was very smart, noted Bowkit. How did she know so much? Was she just naturally clever? Her brow furrowed in her confusion before she shook it off. No, the medicine cat had probably held many other sessions before and this was a .. a .. ree-vy-shion lesson.

  • ooc: Mags kinda roams around, I'm going to have her stay in Snowclan territory though since it's nice around here and good for her.

    Ic:

Mags dipped her head to Snowbird, not the most exquisite 'thank you' but she had seen many cats do this in thanks instead of actually uttering the words she gave a soft, cheerful close of the eyes, seeing birds can't smile. The magpie stretched out a wing, giving it a quick preening before putting it back at her side. The black and white bodied bird with the lovely blue, purple tinted tail, observed the cats and other animals around her.

  • Nissel looked up as Snowbird's question was directed at her; and with an amused chuckle and a flick of her ear, she spoke with a nod. "Yes, actually. I used to be a healer a while ago, but it is nice to catch up on a few things."

The white femme hadn't been named a healer since she had died at the paws of the Tribe of Burning Eclipse. She had staying in the Underworld for nearly six months, before possessing a similar looking body so she could be with her loved ones. Nis hadn't been a healer for quite some time, but Vera and Space hadn't seemed to terribly mind when she came in to help. Healing was her passion - it was her everything.

"Although, I am interested to hear what these kits have to say," She smiled, flexing her claws in a mild stretch. This training session had reminded Nissel so much of the same one she participated in a year ago when she was just a kit - the same place she had met her best friend, Sacred.

  • Memorkit flicked her ear. So she had been right, that was good. "Snowbird" she meowed hesitantly. "What would you do if the water running through your den suddenly stopped and a sick cat was getting dehydrated" her clouded blue eyes stared straight at the Medicine Cat as if she could actually see her.

It was probably a stupid question but still she wanted to know. Did they support the cat and walk them to a water source? Bring a wad of moss soaked? Or maybe aomething completly different. Lowering her ears she waited for someone to glare at her or make a snide remark, but hopefully they would be all to intent on talking with one another or Snowbird.

  • Colorkit smiled, her malachite eyes lighting up at Snowbird's praise. She heard Memorkit, and looked over curiously. "Well, we are Snowclan. Maybe cover some moss in clean snow, and then it would melt in the warmer den?" she suggested.

  • "The snow wont be here forever" she replied back, the fur along her shoulders bristling in fear. She couldnt see colorkit but could hear the she-kits reply. It didnt sound aggressive but even so, the blue tabby got to her paws and slowly walked alittle closer to Snowbird, ears angled back slightly to show her discomfort.

  • . P a d m é .

Padmé felt as if she was going to spring out of her fur, she had got the question right! The hopes of learning and prospering was so sufficient in the young mind. Wanting to be praised by the older members always made her proud.

She couldn't felt but wounder what her future would be. Would she become the greatest leader that ever lived? Fight in a raging battle against many clan? Become a wise medicine cat of the clan? Become the best warrior of the clan?...Or...just be a normal member like most of the rest?

Being a normal member seemed to be were most of them out head, in their future. But she couldn't just say that. Their is a chance for every one and every thing to do great! She held her head high, feeling a new confidence and she awaited the next question.

  • Nissel twitched a single ear, blinking once as her ears pivoted towards Colorkit and Memorkit. "We do live in a high elevation, if there's not any snow anywhere near, there will be further up the mountain."

She hadn't taken much heed to the fact that she used the pronoun, 'we'. It wasn't as if she was planning staying in Snowclan with Pinpaw . . . But, she supposed she'd have to figure things out for herself once she was healed enough to return to The Comets.

  • Astralkit purred, he had gotten the answer right, his tail curled up positively and he grinned.

Then, a question came to him. "Snowbird?" He asked hesitantly, "What if there was a big battle and we were low on marigold and goldenrod?"

Landon -- Fennec Fox -- Male -- Snowclan -- Can Speak Cat

    OOC
I've posted on a few threads with Landon. He can't fight though, so he's pretty mich just been talking.

    IC
Landon smiled to himself. He'd gotten it right. Snowbord hadn't given a direct comment to him, but he was right. The fox's stomach felt fluttery. Most catsfound his company awkward, one reason Landon wasn't very out-going.

He heard Braxton's comment, and turned towards him. "You'd have to heal the wound first I think. Then the poppy seeds will make the patient sleep, but you shouldn't feed them to nursing queens..." His voice trailed off into more of a question. Landon turned back toward Snowbord, awaiting another question.

  • Lilykit layed down without a word. It was all too much. She or her roleplayer didn't have a clue that there were even half this many kits in Snowclan. It was SO noisy in here! She finally snapped. "Please just shut up!" She yowled, leaping up, her back arched and neck fur bristling.

  • Goldenkit listened to all the questions with two ears, pricking with interest during the time. The golden-coated she-cat tottered forward a tiny bit, hanging around the middle now instead of the back. All of her features lifted up into a tense posture.

  • ooc: I posted with Felix in a couple of threads. He intrudes randomly though on cats. xDD

    ic:

The otter nodded, taking in the information. He chuckled in a sort of whiny way that weasels had a tendency to do was he looked at all the kits and apprentices that were saying 'what if this, what if that'. Felix found cats amusing this way, though he was still keen to learn. "Poppy seeds, are pretty good for calming down cats. Though I'm an otter, so I don't know if it would work on me." the eurasian otter laughed.

  • Well, what was going on here? Nightpath thought as he approached the den carrying a bloody, snow-caked squirrel in his mouth. He was proud of this prey, as he'd never really been very good at making a clean catch. Usually he ended up mangling it, but this one was in rather good condition. So, he was bringing it to the medicine den. It was for the medicine cats, of course, but he was hoping Frozenpaw would be there. He hadn't seen her in a while, and he was fond of the child.

She had been the cat to convince him not to retire if he didn't want to. Although he was willing to bet that he was one of the oldest warriors in the Clan, he resolved to stick around to show these younger cats how it was done. The eight year old tom was clearly old, it showed plainly in his appearance and in the lines of his face. Although muscles still rippled beneath his well-groomed fur he walked with the limp of a cat struggling with joint pains. His black fur had faded to a peppery gray along his muzzle and temples. Nightpath paused to stretch, wincing as he tried to loosen up his joints. In another year or so he knew he would have no other choice than to retire. He was dreading it, the time he would be useless, purposeless, until his death.

And then he walked on, smiling around at the kittens and cubs and other animals and stepping carefully around the little paws and tails on his way inside. Snowbird obviously had her paws full with this group, so he wanted to leave her gift inside for her to get to when she could.

"Well," he purred kindly, when his mouth was free. He could feel squirrel hairs sticking in his saliva. "This sure looks like fun." Surely they wouldn't want an old gramp like him sitting around with them, but he liked watching kits learn. It assured him that the next generations of SnowClanners would be well taken care of.

SnowClan was lucky to have so many cats who knew medicine, and now there would be more little ones running around with that knowledge. Perhaps they would become warriors who would save their patrol one day with that knowledge. It certainly would have been useful during the Great BloodClan War, as he liked to call it, that had happened a few leaf-bares back. It was a favorite story of his, telling of all the Clans coming together to fight BloodClan (Traveling for moons there and back because BloodClan had been so far away then) and rescue the prisoners during that terrible blizzard. Perhaps when Snowbird was done with them he could recite it to these children?

I think I finally have my muse back for him ^_^

Snowbird's eyes wandered over the kits as each one called out a question to her. She opened her maw to respond when she spotted a warrior heading towards her den, and slipping inside. "Hey!" She called out to him. "Is there anything I can help you with?" Snowbird asked curiously. He looked like an elder, and if he was having pain, she wanted to make him more comfortable, it could also be used to teach the kits how to properly care for muscle and joint pains in the body.

"Memorkit." She meowed, calling out the kits name. "If the water ever stopped running here in my den, we would gather moss if the cat is too sick to move, and bring it back to them." Snowbird answered the question. "If they can walk and aren't too sick, we would take them down to Shimmer Lake." The Medicine Cat said, hoping all of them were paying attention.

Snowbird's eyes wandered to a small kit, called Astralkit and smiled softly. "Marigold and goldenrod?" She asked. "If we run low, we find more." She responded as if the answer was simple.

Then Nissel, Landon, Memorkit and Colorkit began discussing poppyseeds. "A cat deprived of water." She began. "Would never, ever, receive poppy seeds from me." The white chinchilla said. "They need water, fluids, not sleep." Snowbird told them. Felix began saying that poppy seeds calmed cats down and she nodded her head. "Felix, that's right, but it also makes them drowsy, and a cat with serious wounds, needs everything but sleep." Reciting information she had learned over the moons. "Them sleeping, means that their life is in even more danger than before. You risk losing them if you allow them to sleep."

Snowbird almost missed Bowkit's question. "It means two or more things that either look alike, or that have the same result." She said, purring softly.

  • Nodding at Snowbird's words, the otter was taking all of this in. Considering he rarely saw cats before joining SnowClan not long ago, all of this gathering and talking had made him much more aware of their conducts and activities. Now Felix knew that they liked to talk about herbs, faught in battles and earnt a large multitude of wounds. For him, it was quite fascinating!

Small dark brown eyes looking up at the looming cat, the otter responded, "Right, because if they were in a deep sleep, they could wriggle about and make the wounds worse right?" He himself had learnt about this from experience with his brothers and sisters. Obviously otters rarely got many injuries considering their rather simple lifestyle, but still, it happened. Felix's brother's tail had nearly been eaten by a fish once.

The otter didn't know what to expect as an answer, though he hoped it was right. Felix liked Snowbird because she seemed like a responsible cat with lots of knowledge. The otter didn't 'admire' her like so many others, though she did seem like a good cat to spend company with, as long as she wasn't too angry. But of course, all animals got angry at some point, even him. But granted, it was quite rare.

  • Compasspaw saw a small crowd of cats. Perfect. He narrowed his eyes against the glaring sun and dropped into a feral crouch. His muscles rippling under his sandy coloured pelt. Steady. Steady. he coached himself in his head. Then charged lumbering with typical kit cluminess towards the small gathering but of course he didn't make it. He stumbled over his out of proportion paws and fell head over heels at edge of the crowd.

The cougar felt like his face was a flame with embarrassment "I am so sorry" he muttered his cheeks burning. He frowned confused when he saw an otter, fox and a squirrel "Hey what cha doing?"

  • Out of the bushes, scampered Turtlepaw. The small mottled tabby stared excitedly at all the cats. "Finally! Thank StarClan here's my chance!" he whispered aloud. Turtlepaw positioned himself between Compasspaw and Felix, staring at Snowbird. He had waited countless moons for this chance to become MCA of SnowClan to come. He turned to Compasspaw. "Snowbird is looking for new Medince Cat Apprentices!" he chirped happily.

  • "Snowbird, did you approve of my answer?" The jaguarundi inquired to his medicine cat, slate eyes curiously darting around the frozen den. It felt like ice was shooting daggers into his fur, little did the wildcat know his natural habitat was in a warm island where his family descended. Requiem attempted to arrange his phase to block it, and it worked for the moment.

A smile came to his maw, brighter than before as the two apprentices were corrected. This would be his chance to learn from his mistakes before even corrected them. The SnowClanner brought his mind back to Snowbird's words, and the jaguarundi listened closely with his flattened ears.

[ The cats do not know she's looking for MCA's, they think she's just doing a training session. ]
