he dived into the water with a splash "Ack its cold!!!" he yowled and splashed water at Softsong "But refreshing! Come on in."

Softsong jumped back from the water. "I dont know," she said, "I've never swam before."

"Its easy! Just kick your legs and breath." he said climping out of the river. "Come on i'll help you."

"I-I dont know," she said nervously, shaking her head

"Oh dont be a fox-heart" he laughed and nudged her towards the water "Its as easy to swim in water as it is to drink it"

Softsong dug her claws into the ground, shaking her head, but before she knew it, he had plummeted into the water below her. She kicked to the surface flailing her paws and coughing. "help me!"

Blackwing laughed and jumped in to help her. He grabbed her scruff and held her head above water "I got ya dont worry. Kick your paws and breath" he felt like he was teaching a kit, but he didnt mind. Blackwing liked being with this cat instead of ShadowClan

Softsong took a gasp of air and kicked her legs. She found herself staying above water.

"There you go! Your doing it!" he meowed and swam beside her

"I guess I am!" she exclaimed, swimming beside the blackwing. "this is amazing!"

"Dont tell me you've never swam before?" he looked at her astonished

"never," Softsong said, "I've always lived alone."

"Really? Even when you were a kit? Didnt you have your mother back then?" Blackwing felt bad for Softsong

"my mother abandoned me," Softsong said sadly. She forgot to kick and quickly fell back under the water.

he dived under and pulled her back up "I think its time to get out and rest" he meowed

Softsong nodded and scrambled out of the water, laying on the shore to catch her breath

Blackwing sat next to Softsong and started licking his pelt. "Your a pretty good swimmer considering it was your first time" his ears flicked towards the woods, he could hear the pounding of paws. Blackwing stood up immediately "My clan is coming" he said and he flattened his ears

Softsong jumped to her paws, eyes wide with terror. She stepped back, only to find herself on the edge I the river. She looked for somewhere to hide, but here was nowhere to.

Three ShadowClan warriors came rushing towards them, the orange tabby, Amberblaze, tackled Blackwing to the ground. The other two, Coldheart and Phantompelt, ran for Softsong
