    "No problem," he replied, purring.

    Adderfang felt a lurch in his stomach, like someone had just tickled his nose. He looked at Sunflower with love now.

    "You caught Fresh-kill for the Clan?" I purred. "If you did, I'm sure Snowstorm would like it."

    Adderfang rolled his eyes at his leader. "Thank you, but we have a fresh-kil pile. You know, that place where the whole Clan goes to get food?" Sarcasm dripped from his words, along with some fresh acid.

    "I know," I growled. "But, I'm sure even Snowstorm can eat. You know, the cat that does lots of work sorting herbs, helping cats, and training his apprentice to be the next medicine cat?"


    I sat down on my ground, licking my paw and purring teasingly. As I was purring, I choked on a bug, but I survived and padded away to hunt.

    "Snowstorm can get his own food, mouse-brain!" he growled.

    I smacked you with my paw and bared my teeth hissing with rage, "Of course he can, Fox-dung! It's just that, I think it's nice to bring him Fresh-kill;especially for what his job for the Clan is." I unsheathed my claws and tried to smack you again. "Also, you know better than to talk to your leader like that!" I sat and started. "I know he can catch his own prey. Now, go make yourself useful and fetch bedding to put in the Elders' den."

    "Make yourself useful and stay out of my life! I'll do what I want, when I want and come and go as I please! I came here to be part of a Clan, not to be bossed around by the worst leader in the history of leaders! I HATE YOU!" Adderfang growled, spat, and hissed the words.

    "I'm sorry you had to see that, Sunflower. I... love you, okay. But I'm leaving and it wouldn't have worked out anyway. I think, at least. I may be kicked out of the Clan now, sooo.... I guess love isn't gonna keep me here." he shrugged.

    Adderfang's eyes brightened with surprise. He licked her ear. "I won't leave if that's what you wish."

    "That'd be wonderful, Sunflower. I can see it now. 'Adderstar and his deputy Sunflower'!" he smiled, then glared at Moonstar.
