  • Bright cerulean eyes stared forth, grasping the figure before her like a grip of iron. The blue tortie point's rump was high in the air, her plume-like tail lashing to and fro as her chiseled claws tore into the upturned soil. A bright yellow leaf gently shifted in the crisp air, the wind billowing circles above her head as the young Swiftkit stood to far outside of the nursery, ignoring the inevitable and doing what she did best - have fun.

As the leaf began to whither in the wind, the adopted daughter of Cougareyes and Soliloquypaw ear's immediately pivoted, jumping to her ivory socks before leaping forth with extended arms. "Hey, get back here, you!" She growled good-naturedly, hopping forward as the leaf slipped from in between her paws.

  • The beaming fiery planet hung high in the light blue sky, emitting a light over RiverClan's camp. A thin layer of snow coated the ground, broadcasting signs of an approaching Newleaf. Newleaf, ah, how the word felt like fresh fish on the red tabby's mouth whom shouldered through clusters of Clanmates at current. A limp squirrel sagged in his maw, floating up and down upon each of the cat's paw step.

Rangerflash headed for the nursery. The fresh-kill was breakfast for his dearly loved Silentwitness. He noticed the blue tortoishell playing in the nursery's exterior and regarded her with a mere courteous nod. His mind was occupied with visions of his family. He was only paw steps away from --

Suddenly a leaf flew into the deputy's face. "Ergh!" He muttered an unsightly sound while staggering back and dropping the squirrel in the process of shaking the leaf away.

  • Pure lapis eyes blinked once as a figure anchored long shadows above her, the kit's gaze diverting upward at the sight of the deputy with the leaf tickling his nose. As it fluttered to the ground, Swiftkit giggled, jumping up and pressing both front paws against the leaf to stop it in it's tracks.

"You alright, Mr. Rangerflash?" She laughed, cocking her head with big blue eyes.

  • Regaining balance, Rangerflash managed to collecting his bearings. He dropped his rear and nimbly swept his slick orange tail around himself. His whiskers twitched in amusement as Swiftkit referred to him as "Mr. Rangerflash".

"Yes, yes, I think I'll survive." A comical grin opened up his furry red face. "You should be careful though. The leaf might attack you, too." He raised his brows in a facetious manner.

  • Swiftkit blinked once, taking in what Rangerflash was saying. After a moment, the kit stifled a laugh, shaking her head with amusement clear in her eyes. "Psh, no leaf would dare attack me! Didnt'ja see it? It was running away!" Swifty explained quite surely, puffing out her chest with a quirky grin.

  • Rangerflash gave her a knowing nod. "You wanna know the secret to scaring away a leaf?" His green eyes flickered to eye his left surroundings, then rotated to check out the other side. He gestured for the she-kit to approach closer as he crouched to the ground and pointed his muzzle out.

"Roar." His mew was a hushed whisper, audible for only the cat whom it was intended for: Swiftkit. "You have to scare it away with your mighty voice."

  • With blue eyes wide, Swiftkit scrambled closer to the orange tabby, putting a paw between the both of them so no one could hear such a valuable secret as the one Rangerflash was about to say.

“Roar. You have to scare it away with your mighty voice.”

With a smirk, Swifty flinched slightly as he ‘roared’, giggling as the tortie took a step back. “Ya really mean it? Where’s another leaf, I wanna try again!” She perked up, jumping around on her paws, keen gaze looking around the province.

  • Orbs of green scanned the clearing of RiverClan camp. Fallen leaves were an abundance in the leaf-fall (hence the name) but a rarity in the leaf-bare. "Hmm." Pursing his lips, Rangerflash pushed his paws from under him. "We'll have to search for one!" With that, the red tabby strode forward, eyes peeled for a leaf or similar light object.

  • As did Rangerflash, Swiftkit tottered about the clearing looking for the familiar hued leaf, occasionally stealing glances over her shoulder to make sure the orange tabby deputy had found one before she did. Twitching the bits of debris that had inevitably lathered to her pelt, the blue tortie point blinked once, catching sight of an oak leaf just to the side of camp.

"Found one!" The she-kit cooed a purr, pumping herself to her paws before dashing forward, swiping it up gingerly with her front teeth. Steadying her position, Swiftkit gave a silly curl of her lip, smiling brightly before padding back towards the deputy. "So, kin 'ooo teach me?" The daughter of Soliepaw and Cougareyes bubbled through the mouth-full of dried leaf, arching her neck before settling the leaf at his paws, averting her eyes back towards Rangerflash. "Is there like, some special way to do it?"
