  • Watershine was sitting comfortably in the apprentice den. She was sitting with her tail wrapped around her paws, waiting for her new apprentice, the newly named Ravenpaw, to arrive. She was going through what she would start with in her head while her apprentice was still talking with Bearstar, but soon to return.

  • "Great! You're here!" She stood up and walked out of the den. "Do you want to start with a fishing session?"

  • "Alright then, lets get going!" She continued padding towards the exit. "Then after we could go for a tour around the clan territory, so I can show you the borders."

  • They padded out of Riverclan camp and towards a lush river. It was pretty cold because of leaf-bare (ooc: I'm assuming its leaf-bare, let me know if otherwise), but there were still fish swimming across. Watershine placed herself next to the water. She started explaning to Ravenpaw: "Alright, fish don't seem like smart creatures but they can be when they want to. You have to avoid letting your shadow fall across the water, or else the fish will avoid coming near you. Then you wait for a fish to pass by. When you see one..." She slashed her paw into the water, wincing ever so slightly at its cold touch, and when her paw came in contact with fish, she curved it and the fish came flopping out. She killed it with a swift blow to the neck. "You have to scoop the fish out of the water, pin it down then bite it to deal the final blow. Why don't you give it a shot?"

  • Ravenpaw stood where his shadow was unnoticable. He waited patiently until he saw a smal shadow swiming toward him. As soon as it was close he scooped his paw in grabbing the fish up out of the water. It flopped off his claws and fell back in the river. Raven paw cursed under his breath. "I was so close! I normally get it. Arrrggghhh!!!!"

  • "That was very good! Don't worry, no one gets it on the first try. Next time make sure to really dig your claws into the fish to avoid it slipping from your hands. It seems like you've done this before, have you?"

  • "Yes i have. I had to teach myself how after my mother died. Let me try agian." He got in the same position and when the fish came he gripped his claws in and flung the fish onto the bank of the river. He then gave a swift killing bite to the throat.

  • "Perfect!" She pushed the two fish to the side, further away from the water. "How is the water's temperature? If you don't find it too cold we could do some water combat exercises, after all we've already caught two fish for the clan."

  • Watershine slowly set her paws into the water and waded in the shallowpart of the water. The stream circled her and completely envollopped her in water. "Alright, hop in!" Lets start with the basics, you know how to swim, correct?"

  • Sure, we can go deeper if youi want.

  • "Alright, lets turn you into a swimming warrior!" Watershine pressed herself closer to her apprentice. "I'll support you, you practice your swimming. If you start struggling I'll bring you back to shallow water."

  • Ravenpaw started out to the deeper water kicking on strong legs. He manged to stay above the water as he went deeper in.

  • Watershine was impressed by Ravepaws strong swimming. "Good job! Keep it up! And don't worry, I'll support you in case you start stuggling." Ravenpaw was getting a little far so Watershine decided to swim with him. "Why don't we continue down the stream a little?"
