Rabbitcloud was pulled from suicidal thoughts when she heard Oceanheart's screams. She raced towards the sound, bracing herself for something terrible. Arriving, she was confronted by a fox and its cubs. In its jaws hung Oceanheart limply. NO! You can't take everything from me, she thought, enraged.
She leaped to Oceanheart's rescue, clawing and biting and scratching as if she was being hunted herself. Rabbitcloud raked the fox's eyes, sending it into a state of shock. But it wouldn't give up. It jumped onto Rabbitcloud, its claws piercing her fur. No. I'm not going to die today. Her body went limp. Oceanheart panted heavily on the forest floor.
The fox held a proud stance, his trophy held beneath him. Just as the fox leaned in to finish the job, Rabbitcloud surged upwaard, the fox falling to the floor, startled. She pummled and kicked it, her yeaars of careful training flying out the door like a startled magpie. "NOBODY WILL TAKE THEM AWAY FROM ME!" she yowled. "I'M NOT LOSING ANYONE ELSE! I WILL FIGHT TO THE DEATH TO SAVE THEM!"
With a final blow, the fox yowled in pain. Its paw was bleeding from a deep grip, and its tail was half the lenght it used to be. "Nobody," Rabbitcloud hissed.

Oceanheart stared up at Rabbitcloud. "Thanks," she mumbled, before she passed out.
-
Stripeheart sat by Pebblekit, washing her head gently, looking very annoyed. Where was the medicine cat? This was her job, wasn't it? She padded on a few more cobwebs, hoping she had done enough to be sufficient.
Speckledpath turned her head as Rabbitcloud and Oceanheart raced out of camp. She turned to Halfclaw, her gaze suddenly hardened.
"Halfclaw, come with me. We need to be sure that fox gets off of the territory." Halfclaw nodded gruffly and left Whitetail to run to help Rabbitcloud with Speckledpath by her side. -
Pebblekit stood up and panted. "I must help my momma!" she tried to take a step but started shaking weakly.
-
"No!" Stripeheart said firmly. She took Pebblekit by the scruff and set her back down where she was.
"Your momma needs you to stay right here!! Do you understand?" -
"Momma's here, Pebblekit. Its gonna be okay" Rabbitcloud reassured the kit. Her eye was swelling, and her fur was covered in blood.
-
Pebblekit crawled under rabbitclouds belly and snuggled there for comfort.
-
Stripeheart tutted. She turned to Rabbitcloud. "Speckledpath and Halfclaw will make sure the fox gets out." She said, half to herself. She ran for more marigold, and applied it to Rabbitcloud's back along with some cobwebs and comfrey root. She noted Rabbitcloud's eye, which appeared to be swelling, and crunched up some dried oak leaf and mixed it with some water to get it applicable, gently dabbing it around Rabbitcloud's eye in hopes of preventing infection. She was muttering to herself fervently. She hadn't used these herbs in awhile.
Speckledpath and Halfclaw followed the Fox's scent trail through the woods. Speckledpath crouched, seeing it blundering around the brambles. "There." She whispered. "Let's try and scare it away from the territory."
"Ok." Halfclaw growled. Both she-cat leaped out of their hiding place in the ferns, yowling ferociously, making as much racket as they could, Halfclaw slashing at the Fox's heels, making it dart away, yipping in pain. -
Pebblekit continued to lay there, her kitten fuzz was leaving being replaced by real fur. she was adorable laying there. her black fur slighty dirty.
-
Speckledpath and Halfclaw chased the fox away, out of the territory. It rounded on them a few times when it thought it was being cornered, and Speckledpath and Halfclaw eventually came traipsing back, Halfclaw with a good sized cut on her shoulder, her silver eyes contemptuous. Stripeheart looked over.
"Oh good.. is it gone?" She asked.
"Yes, gone as can be. Halfclaw gave it a good scare!" Speckledpath purred affectionately at her friend. Halfclaw looked as if any affection made her feel hot and uncomfortable.
"Yeah.. well... It was bleeding already." She muttered. -
Pebblekit staggered over and rubbed around halfclaws good paw. "Thankyou halfclaw". she purredd
-
Halfclaw looked like she didn't know what to do.
"Er. Just a warrior's duties." She growled. -
Pebblekit smled and staggered back to her mother and licked rabbitclouds paw.
-
'everybody calm the h*ll down!" Whitetail growled as Cloverleaf entered the scene. She padded over to the small and bleeding kit, then got to work. She layed a small poppy seed in front of the kit for him to eat, then began to chew up the alder tree bark in her jaws. She then spit a large part of the chewed bark out onto a large wound on the kit. Then she began to spit the remaining chewed bark out onto the smaller cuts and wounds. After she was done applying all of the medicanes, she lifted her head up from her work and mewed, "Could somebody get me some cobwebs?"
-
Halfclaw rolled her eyes a little behind Whitetail's back, and Speckledpath threw Halfclaw a reproachful look.
"She's the deputy, you know." meowed Speckledpath to her friend.
"Yeah, well, doesn't give her the excuse to be a stupid furball." Halfclaw muttered. She disliked cats who were as bad-tempered as herself.Stripeheart pushed the cobwebs to Cloverleaf. "I have some here already." She meowed.
-
Pebblekit looked up.
-
Whitetail spun around to face the cat, hearing what she had said. "You shut your d*mn mouth before I make it so you don't have a mouth to shut!"
---Cloverleaf nodded to Stripeheart and looked down at Pebblekit, pushing the cobwebs closer to her with one paw. She unleashed her claws, sinking them into the cobwebs, and lifted the paw that held the bandages. She then went over to the largest wound and placed the cobwebs onto it, sinking her claws back into their sockets so she would not hurt the kits' already damaged skin.
-
Halfclaw didn't much care who it was who was, she didn't like this cat. "Speaking of the dark forest, somebody's got a foul mouth." She growled, loud enough to hear. But her silver eyes were cool, and betrayed no emotion.
Stripeheart watched Pebblekit, hoping she'd be better soon. She looked up to Cloverleaf. "And Rabbitcloud is hurt too, and I think Half-"
"I'm fine." Halfclaw growled. -
"Well you won't be for long," Whitetail spat.
---"Oh please, do not get my mother angry with you," Cloverleaf told Halfclaw as she gently pressed the cobwebs against the kits' wound with a paw. "She'll hate you forever; trust me."
-
"I can't say I care whether she hates me or not - I don't really value her friendship." Halfclaw growled. She turned her silver gaze to the spitting she-cat. "What are you going to do? Bite me?" She sneered.
