Pebblekit ran off back to camp and hid behind ashkit. "A..Ashkit"? she whimpered

"Yes, Pebblekit?" the she-kit mewed. "Is something wrong?"

Can i sleep next to you"? she whimpered, her eye wide in a panic.

"Yes, that's fine," Ashkit replied. "But hurry before Rabbitcloud finds out you are awake." she replied, going back to sleep.

Pebblekit snuggled against ashkit and fell asleep. shaking even so asleep.

Ashkit thought he heard his name. He lifted his head, looking around. Pebblekit was shaking in her sleep. He twitched a tufted ear, his amber eyes focusing in on her. He hesitated, then gave her head a quick lick, and curled up into a ball, his smoky pelt rumpled.

Pebblwekit felt a touge against her head, she looked up to see ashkt again and cuddled against him, her black, grey, and white rare torrtie pelt was soft

He sighed, looking out at the night. Poor Pebblekit. He thought. She was such a good friend. He didn't even mind her cuddling up next to him.

Pebblekit continued to sleep, her breathing soft and making a small wheezing noise.

Ashkit, the girl one, felt Pebblekit leave. She was curled up next to the male Ashkit. They look so in love, she thought. Will I ever have a friend like that?

Ashkit licked his paw. He wasn't sure what his feelings were for Pebblekit - but he knew she was a nice cat. He looked out to the clearing. Soon, I'll be an apprentice. He thought eagerly.

Pebblekit woke up first and realized it was time for her and ashkit to be apprentices. "Ashkit"! she said poking him.

Ashkit heard her name. Me? she thought. The light in her eyes faded a bit as she realized Pebblekit meant the OTHER Ashkit. Oh.

"Huh, what?!?!?!?!!?!?!?!" Askit mewed. Then she remembered. I become an apprentice today! "Oh no i so nervous! Who will be my mentor? Will I even be an apprentice? Willanyine want to be my mentor????" she meowed frantically.
