"What?" Was he still talking to him? Haki turned his head. "If you're going to talk, talk so I can here you."

"Uh! Wath?! Oops, sorry, I was just talking to myself." Mewed Sandfire.
-
Oh, joy. Not only did he have a chatty companion, which would surely be the death of him, but in addition, this tom talked to himself. Haki swallowed his distaste and strolled on with a purposeful pace to distance himself from Sandfire.
-
"Mouse dung, I must looked so ridicolous" Tought Sandfire, he saw Haki padding away. He get up pace, put still left some distance. "Wath he must be thinking" as they passed under the black forest's border.
-
Haki was beginning to get extremely irritated. It wasn't just Sandfire's fault, but the fact that Haki had reason to be jumpy whenever he heard footsteps behind him and forgot they were that of a "friend". He'd been attacked more than once. It made sense to be afraid.
-
Nothing seemed to be happening, until Sandfire's belly started to growel. He wondered if he should ask Haki if he could hunt. Still, he kept silence.
-
Haki kept moving forward with the same aggression, attacking the trail with mild ferocity.
-
"Nigthfall is coming, hu... ho well, looks like I still have no choice..." So tought Sandfire, has the nigth swept over the two cats.
-
"If there's anywhere to rest you see, you can say something." Haki mewed, his pace had slowed some to allow for the night, but since cat's vision was relatively fine in such situations, he didn't see much reason for it. They could walk through the night as easily as the day.
-
"Finally, something to do!" Sandfire was happy to help, he started to look around as best as he could to find some place to rest. He spotted a dich, then, rememberd they were tweo instead of one. "Look!" He stammmered "There's a rabbit hole, and the scent is stale." He moewed repectfully to Haki.
-
"Fine." Haki padded over and settled down beside it, but made not move to relax his tense posture, nor close his eyes to allow for any sort of sleep to come ridding along.
-
Sandfire settled a few tail-lengths away from Haki, laid down, but kept one eye open, aware of his surrondings. He slowed his breathing and tried to fake sleeping...
-
Haki's posture remained intent and relentlessly watching the darkness, listening to the noises the forest made, and repressing flinches at every sound that he wasn't sure was just the wind in the trees.
-
Sandfire twicthed a little bit, then slowly fell to rest...
-
Haki never settled. He didn't trust this cat, and he didn't trust their surroundings. Who knew where danger might pop out of?
-
Sandfire suddenly woke up in astonnishing silence, looking at Haki to make sure he had'nt done a dangerous move towards him...
-
Haki's head immediately snapped towards Sandfire, his tense posture relaxing only slightly when he realized the offender of the sound. Great. Another distraction. Secretly, he wished to rest his tired eyes, but he didn't dare to.
-
"I'll never sleep!" tought Sandfire. But slowly, very very slowly, his gaze drifted into oblivion...and he fell asleep.
-
Morning came not a minute too soon for the weary Haki. How long was this loner going to be following him around for? His ears twitched with obvious distaste.
-
Haki turned his head, but did not see Sandfire. He was out hunting. He came into there temporary den and droped two voles. "Oh!, youre awake. Here, have something to eat." He meowed twichting his tail in the direction of the two voles.
