  • Aspenpaw lied on her side. She sighed. She found it harder and harder to live. She looked around feebly. She had an unknown cough. (she has star cough, a sickness I made up. Worse than green cough. Only cure is deathberrys, to end the suffering.. :'( )

  • A dark shadow appeared next to the dying she-cat. "Don't worry, you'll be with us soon." Remorseblood purred, placing her tail on Aspenpaw's flank to comfort her.

  • A very small shadow appeared just behind Remorseblood. "How much longer does she have?" Patchpaw asked.

  • "Only a short while, Patchpaw." Remorseblood replied to the smaller shadow. "Unless she eats deathberries, she's going to suffer, as well." She murmured, then pricked her ripped ears forward to listen to Aspenpaw's breathing. "It's your choice..." She whispered.

  • Patchpaw sighed. He had never seen such a crucial death before, and he wished he could do something to help, or at least give her some death berries....

  • "Patchpaw, if you'd like, you can go fetch some deathberries." Remorseblood decided. "I'm not sure if Aspenpaw would be strong enough to do so herself."

  • "Oh good!" He meowed and raced off. He returned a couple heartbeats later with the berries clenched in his mouth and dropped them at the dying she-cat's side. "Eat these..." He whispered.

  • Remorseblood reached down and licked the dying she-cat's ear. "It'd be better if you didn't suffer when you die." She sighed. "And a better place awaits you, if you've made the right choices in life."

  • Patchpaw stared down at Aspenpaw. He felt so bad for her. She had never lived out to her true potential.

  • "I wonder how it's even possible to get starcough." Remorseblood wondered aloud, then stood up. "I plan to see you soon, Aspenpaw." She said, then began to fade away. "Just find me when it's your time."

  • Patchpaw looked at Aspenpaw once more, then slowly started to fade away. "Goodbye..." He whispered. "See you soon..."

  • Aspenpaw sighed. She was young, she wasn't surprised to die. She sniffed the berries anxiously. "Tell my mom she cant see my warrior ceremony. " Aspenpaw rasped.

  • "Its alright... neither did i and i know some cats that died so young, they never even saw the world, many have died as young kits, im just glad i had some time to meet other clans and explore..."
