"It's not that they'll kill me first chance they get now, it's because they already tried!" Lanex said, burying her head in her hands.

"Not while I'm around. Remember I said I was too fast to be caught. I won't let anything happen to you. I promise." Drayke said, putting a hand on her shoulder
-
Lanex wondered if he even understood. "Who do you think stabbed me?"
-
He leaned back against the wall. "it was probably those 'sisters' of yours. Humans can new so violent and quick to kill." He closed his eyes. "No offense to them of course. Slayers are always the worst."
-
Lanex looked up at Drayke. "It wasn't any slayer. I was the second best. No one could beat me, except one person. She trained me. She was my mother."
-
"why would your mother, want to kill you?" He asked
-
"Let's just say she's extremely devoted to the sisterhood." Lanex stood up, pacing. She realized her shirt was covered in blood. "I'll be right back."
-
He nodded. "Take your time." He closed his eyes again
-
Lanex walked into her room and grabbed another shirt and sweatpants, and went to the bathroom, turning on the shower.
-
Drayke climbed up on the roof and stared out at nothing
-
Lanex finished up in the shower and threw on her clothes. She walked out and groaned when she saw all the blood on her couch. She dragged it outside for the garbage truck to pick up.
-
Drayke watched her, and hopped in through the window of her room and waited for her to come back
-
Lanex walked into her room, planning on playing with Minx, and was surprised when she saw Drayke, and Minx started hissing at her.
-
"So, what do you plan on doing? I really wonder if it's safe to keep up a charade?" Drayke asked, watching the cat wearily.
-
"I'm going to guess that they knew I was in contact with you, so they wanted to see what would happen if my mum stabbed me. If I die, or you change me. They will know whether or not I'm a vampire, by if I'm walking and talking." Lanex started toweling off her hair. "I suggest we leave. The country."
-
"I own a small villa in Rome." Drayke said. "We can go there until further notice."
-
"When do we leave?" Lanex said, pulling a brush through her nearly dried hair.
-
Drayke pulled two plane tickets out of his pocket. "Pack a bag."
-
Lanex lifted an eyebrow. "That was sudden." She walked over to her dresser and started throwing some clothes onto her bed. "When's the plane?"
-
"half an hour." He said. "The airport isn't too far." He stood. "Don't worry about clothes too much, we can buy more things there."
