  • Being out of the nursery for one of the few times in his short life, Calignosity had one main idea in mind. The untidy seal lynx point wanted to meet his father. Scythe held quite the position of authority in the Clan, and Calignosity was proud to be fathered by him.

There was one problem. Scythe was always so busy, and the kitten never got to meet him. Except for that one awkward meeting in the nursery, Calignosity didn't know him. But did it ever hurt to get on the good side?

    Nope.

  • Scythe was just derping around doing random stuff that had some vague relationship to ruling Skull when he caught sight of Calignosity, one of his sons.
Not like he actually remembered the name or anything. The only name from Rylance's litter that was fixed in his mind was that of "Erin," a name which he mildly resented, only not when Erin I was listening in on his mind.
"Hi," he meowed, feeling a little bit awkward.

  • Awkward was not something Calignosity felt often, and it was true now. Even though his father looked a bit startled to see one of his sons come up to him suddenly, the seal lynx point acted like he did it everyday. It was about time they got to know each other.

Though, from previous experience with his father, Scythe likely didn't know that one of his sons went over to live with that d*** BoneClan. Daeyon, from the latest news the kitten had heard, was the herb trainee there.

  • Scythe did, in fact, know that one of his sons was in BoneClan, and it was one of the things that made him sleepless at night while he planned revenge on the tom who had broken his group and his family.
But that wasn't what mattered now. What mattered was this kit, his son.

"How have you settled into the new territory?" he asked. Not like Calignosity would really know a whole lot about the old territory.

  • Calignosity did know quite a lot about the old territory. Rylance had told him many stories describing what it looked like, and he'd explored it for himself. With Daeyon, it had been enjoyable and exciting. But he was gone now, in BoneClan. Once the seal lynx point was old enough, he would go on that raid with Scythe, if there was one.

"I liked the old territory better." That was the reply from Calignosity, and it was quite true. This new terrain was hard to get used to. All the changes were, too. It just was confusing. Moving was a blur to him, it all was.

  • There seemed to be an awkward silence after that. Scythe certainly didn't say much after he'd replied, but there truly wasn't much to say. Digging his claws into the ground, the seal lynx point tried to think of something to break the silence.

When the large leader's eyes caught Calignosity's, the kitten seemed to stare at the depths inside them. "Why did we have to move here?"

  • "Because Hydra is a traitor," Scythe growled, eyes darkening. "You remember him, don't you? One of the Herbs? He decided he would be better at ruling Skull than I would, and so while I was at the Tribe, he took over and changed the name and drove out my supporters."

  • Oh yes, now he could recall that one. The only Herb Calignosity knew well was Sarathi, so he'd never really met Hydra but once. That one awkward meeting set the seal lynx point's mind that Hydra was better suited to be an Herb than a leader. Or, maybe none of those.

"He sounds evil." Calignosity growled, growing a bit angry. "I can't believe he did that, do you know why he did?"

  • "He wanted power, I guess," Scythe meowed. "That's why most everyone does most everything, after all."

I hope he's sick of it, he growled to himself.

  • Being rather young, Calignosity didn't know much about the hunger for power that so many cats had. But wasn't being an Herb powerful? Even though the kitten didn't fully understand all of the complicated mysteries of power and such, he nodded.

"Oh." Calignosity's yellow-green eyes glinted as he looked back up at his father. "That's not good. I wish we could go over there and claim our land back."
