Silence by the river...... (O)

    Seashine nods, and follows Adderfang. If we find the source then what are we going to do she thought as she padded at a steady pace.

    Adderfang padded along in silence for a while. Every minute or so he glanced over at the river to see if they'd found an area where the river had cleared. Sadly, every time he checked, the only thing he saw was the dark, murky water that he'd seen the last time he checked.

    Seashine peered into the water, she was just hopeing for maybe one fish to show it's self in the dark water but nothing. She sighed and stoped looking it was no use there wasn't going to be any fish around. She then turned her gaze to a flicker of movement, what was that she thought and stoped walking. She stared across the water as a glimmer of something kept on apearing.

    As Adderfang walked along he heard Seashine's pawsteps come to a halt. He turned around to find her staring across the water. What could she possibly be looking at? He wondered, and came to stand next to her.

    Seashine didn't notice Adderfang beside her as she stared forward. "There is some kind of glimmer" she meowed and flicked her tail to a silver like object across the water. She then looked over at Adderfang, "I'm going to find out what it is" she meowed and started to walk up river trying to get a good look at the thing.

    Adderfang gazed out at the water and spotted the object as well. "I suppose... be careful though, ok?" he meowed with a hint of worry. "Make sure you don't touch that water though" he warned

    " Don't worry, I'll be fine" Seashine meowed and kept on walking. She started to see the object. "Looks like something twolegs would have" she muttered and saw a stone. She put a paw on the stone, maybe I can get across she thought.

    Adderfang stood hesitantly on the riverbed. He didn't particularily like the idea of one of his clanmates trying to meddle with twoleg things in a black, poluted river. But he was curious to see what the object was.

    Seashine put another steady paw on the stone and ended up on trying to get to the next one. She leaped to the stone but one paw sliped into the water. She scrambled onto the stone her paw now black with goo. She let out a breath of relief as she countinued on. When she got to the other side of the river she went to the object.

    As Adderfang watched nervously, Seashine has begun to make her way across the river. At one point she slipped making Adderfang's stomach lurch. He sent a silent prayer to Starclan that Seashine wouldn't fall in. Once Seashine was across, Adderfang padded up as close to the river as he would dare and called out, "So what do you think it is?"

    Seashine shook her black paw a little and then crept towards the object. She saw the glimmer, making her expresion change from shocked to curious. It was a long silver like thing, alomst like a rope. She pawed at it and then went over to the rivers edge, she saw that the rope was leading to the river. " What ever it is, it's shiney and long" she meowed. She saw the rope drop into the water, this must be what creates the black stuff she thought. " It must be the source of whatever that black goo is" she meowed.

    Adderfang didn't like the look of the silver rope thing. He scowled at it, dumb twolegs... he thought. "Where does it come from?" he yelled, "The end that isn't in the river"

    Seashine nodded as she followed the trail of rope back, it kept on going forever but the grey she-cat stoped as she saw a tall black twoleg thing in the way. She shook her head, this must be where the black stuff comes from she thought looking at the bucket like thing. "I found some black bucket" she called back to Adderfang. She pawed at it, it rocked slightly. Interesting she thought as she pawed it harder, it shook more. She unshealthed her claws and stuck it into the bucket, she tryed to knock it over.

    By now Adderfang had lost sight of Seashine. He began to carefully hop onto the first stone to cross the river, just liker Seashine did. He didn't want to cross the sticky black waters but at this point he had no choice.

    Seashine shook the bucket, it droped with a loud bang. Seashine steped away, problem solved she thought with a smile. She soon frowned when she saw black suround around her paws, Oh no she thought backing away even more. " Run" she meowed seeing the black stuff spill out of the bucket. She glanced at it one more time seeing the silver thing knocked out then she dashed away towards the steping stones.

    Wobbling around on the second stone, Adderfang heard Seashine's panicked yowl. He threw himself back onto the first stone and looked behind him in time to see Seashine run towards the stones.

    Seashine dashed towards the stepping stones, she didn't looke back already feeling the black stuff starte to run out. She shook her head though and turned back, the black stuff would evenually flow into the river if it didn't stop and the problem she thought she solved would be pointless. She started to creep back, what can I do she thought. She paniced and then grabed some cobwebs from a near by branch of a tree. She put the cobwebs around the bucket, if cobwebs can soak up blood then they should be able to soak up this goo she thought.
