they can take us, but they won't break us [peasants den, open!]

  • Wisteria lay with her paws crossed, head resting on top of them, near the entrance to the Peasants den. She preferred to lay near the entrance; not because she wanted to escape (Wisteria wasn't stupid enough to do that), but because she was sick and tired of the senseless mating going on. It constantly surrounded her, and the pure white she-cat was sick of it.

  • Sorako padded quietly to sit by the lonely-looking fellow Peasant, her heterochromatic eyes sympathetic. "Are you alright?" she meowed in her soft, melodious voice.

  • Her bright green eyes traveled around the den, searching for the cat who had spoken to her. When Wisteria's eyes fell upon Sorako, she nodded. "Oh, yes. I'm fine. Just... bored." As usual.

  • Sorako dipped her head. "It does get a bit dull around here, I must say," she meowed, settling beside Wisteria and curling her tail neatly over her paws. "If only...if only I could be a Skull," she murmured, half to herself. "Do you think you could reach that rank?" she inquired, turning her attention back to Wisteria.

  • The solid white she-cat lifted her head up from where they rested on her paws. "Me? A Skull?" The thought of it didn't appease to Wisteria. The only thing that seemed good about becoming a Skull was that she would be given equal rights alongside a tom. That would have been the only good thing. "No, I doubt it. What about you? You think you'll ever be rewarded with a promotion like that?"

  • Sorako shook her head. "I couldn't even if I wanted to," she meowed wistfully, holding up a front paw. "Before I came here...I used to be a house cat. My housefolk had my claws removed. I can't fight anymore." She put her paw back on the ground. "I think it's better this way though...I wouldn't want to be a Skull. I don't like fighting. I'd rather just keep my head down and stay out of their way."

  • Wisteria's green eyes narrowed. "Fighting isn't just about claws, you know. You could take out a cat just as easily with your teeth and body as you could with your claws." Albeit, claws did add a bit of an advantage. Nonetheless, not having claws shouldn't have stopped Sorako from giving up hope.

Wisteria didn't press the subject, though. "I know what you mean, about wanting to keep your head down and just stay out of the way. I don't get why some cats here cause trouble. It only gets them hurt in the end. We can live a relatively peaceful life if we just be respectful."

  • Sorako had to admit that Wisteria was correct. She could still defend herself if needed, but lack of claws was a bit of a disadvantage. "I agree with you on that," she meowed. "All these cats stirring up trouble...it's a bit annoying, really. They know that they won't accomplish anything that way. We she-cats are not as oppressed as we were back in the old Skull territory, but some just don't know how to leave well enough alone."

  • "And its not like we can't stand up for ourselves." Wisteria added. "There's an easier way to defend yourself, without using claws and insults."

  • Sorako nodded in agreement. "Angering them is only going to result in a lot of unnecessary pain. Or worse. We don't want to come off as weak, but we don't want to come off as a potential threat. That...wouldn't end well." She shivered at the thought of what would happen to her if she were to ever cross a Skull.

  • Scythe himself had let her go on the attack on the Tribe of Rushing Water; that had gone relatively well. If he had let her go along with that trip, surely he trusted her. To an extent, anyway. She hoped he did. She had been polite, never fought, and respectful to everyone.

"To the males, I think we're always a potential threat." Wisteria admitted. "I mean, there are a lot of us. If we all really wanted to, I think we could all gang up on the toms and escape." With a flick of her tail, Wisteria added, "But I don't think we'd all do it. We'd have to work together. I doubt even half of us could cooperate."

  • "We could overpower them easily...if we could all work together," Sorako agreed. "The number of she-cats here is at least equal to the number of toms. It may even surpass that number. But some of the she-cats here would never fight the toms. Especially the ones who have become Skulls." She sighed. "Still...it's nice to think about, huh?"

  • Aurora sat in the back of the peasants den, Her eyes closed.Tail wrapped neetly around her white fluffy paws, The Skinny She cat sighed.

  • Wisteria felt the muscles that would have controlled her non-existent claws extract. "Thinking is nice, yes, but it goes nowhere without action," the white Munchkin licked down a tuft of fur on her shoulder, tilting her head. Her paw muscles relaxed again. Pricking her ears, the she-cat heard a sigh coming from the back of the den. Her pupils widened to make out the shape at the back of the den through the shadows that loomed there.

It seemed every she-cat in Skulls was either mating or somewhat depressed. And this one looked underfed as well. Green eyes turning towards Aurora, Wisteria blinked at her, pausing. "What do you think?" she asked the skinny Peasant. Wisteria had to admit she wasn't really looking to start a riot right now. The toms weren't really that much of a bother to her as much as the uncooperative she-cats bugged her.

She was sitting now, short legs tucked underneath her chest. Her eyes were half-closed in the glowing sunlight and she waited for the peasant to reply.

ooc. I adopted Wisteria from Mikki, in case you're confused. :]

  • Aurora moved her head so she could see the cat who was talking to her. "Like you said, if we can all work togeather and think of a plan, We could probly brake out and go home..." She mummered. Her tail twiched. She stood up on her skinny legs and limped over to them. Her silver fur mattered and dirty.

  • Sorako looked at Amberstar. "So you're Amberstar?" she meowed. "Well met, honored Clan leader." She dipped her head respectfully. "I've heard about you...you've caused quite a stir among the Skulls." She allowed herself a brief purr of amusement.
