  • Cherry blinked happily at Watertail. "Pleasure!" She purred kindly. The bisexual she cat nudged the tom good naturedly. "Well, if the trouble has passed I've better get back home. You are welcome to come and visit, if you like. If not, then I'll see you tomorrow I hope." She waggled her tail in glee. She glanced to see if either cat was going to join her before sliding away. "I'll be in the den. Just use the cat flap to come inside. I'll probably be on the sofa, if you want me. I'll be back maybe later tonight. See you!" She called over her shoulder.

The slim ginger she cat jumped onto the purple granite counter, tail curling in happiness. Her housefolk her quite rich, but she didn't know that. From there she leaped onto the red velvet tablecloth, the soft matieral fuzzy underpaw. A woman in a satin gown with silky black riglets of hair stroked her head before continuing on, and dropped a tiny chewy cat cookie. Cherry let out a purr and savored it on her tongue. The tile of the kitchen stretched on. Bored of this part of the house, she sautered into the library. It was her favorite part of the house, with books stacked in smooth oak wood bookshelves.
The built in shelves were stacked against the wall. There was a black leather sofa and a recliner in the middle of the hard wood floor. A warm fire crackled in it's place, with three cushions sat in front of it. Each one was the perfect size for a cat, and tiny golden words were written on the top of each one. Lilac was written on a pale pink one with silver tassels. It was made from and was filled with feathers. Jasper, Reedwhisker's kittypet name, was written on a black velvet one. It was stuffed with firm cotton. Finally, on the satin crimson pillow, lay the words Cherry. It was filled with some sort of soft cloth. Cherry sat on her pillow and curled up, letting the fire warm her back.
When she awoke, the lady in the gown was sitting on the sofa, a book sprawled neatly across her lap. Cherry purred and brushed by one of the high heels. The lady murmured a few words and leaned down to pat Cherry on her flank. Glancing up, Cherry saw that along with a thick story, Lilac was also alseep on her lap. Cherry stalked away and went into her rose garden.
A man sat trimming his beautiful rose bushes in the garden of the mansion. Cherry ignored him and walked along the smooth gray stepping stones to the picket fence. She leaped over it and went back into the forest. She inhaled, looking for Watertail and his friend.

  • Watertail had a less exciting night than Cherry. He was beginning to realise this life wasn't the life for him. The clan had nothing fun to do, and the air around them was just plain boring. His moss bed was old and slimy, and when he woke up his back was sore and it hurt to strech. He didn't tell any of his friends he was leaving for good, but he was sure they wouldn't understand. He padded out of the gorse tunnel and made sure no one was following him. He ran swiftly through the trees and nearly ran into Cherry. "Oh my, sorry!"

  • Cherry blinked innocently. She was full from her cookie. "Sure. Not a problem." She waved her tail in dismissal. "I was going to find you and that other cat, but I'm so tired. I think I'm going to beg for a tuna snack... or salmon, do you think? Tuna is crunchy and salmon is always chewy. Not the real thing. Cookies. So yummy. I'm going with tuna. Anyway, and curl up next to the fire... and sleep on my pillow." She finished and shivered happily.

  • Watertail padded the ground dying to ask her a favour. "Do, do you think, your twolegs would take me in?"

  • Cherry winked. "Sure! They let Reedwhisker in. Well, to be honest, the tom twoleg doesn't like us so much. But his mate always convinces him." Amusement filled her tinkering voice. She beckoned him with her tail to follow her around a patch of bramble.

She jumped over the fence with elegance. She landed on the short, mowed grass with a tiny thump. The bushes were completely trimmed, and the roses grew in crimson bubbles. She walked around the winding gray stone path. They passed a fountion that squirted a stream of water into a tiny pond. Pretty fish with orange and white and black splotches swam inside. They were big. "Don't eat them." She told him firmly. "They are kind of like decorations. Not for meals."
She brushed inside and entered the kitchen. The smooth tile cooled her rough pads. She jumped on the granite counter and mewled. No response. She jumped onto the velvet tablecloth and leaped to the library. Inside, the fire crackled warmly. The woman was still reading with her black riglets, but Lilac was sleeping next to Reedwhisker on her pillow by the fire. "That is Lilac and Reedwhisker." She whispered.
The twoleg heard her and turned. The woman squeaked in surprise and fetched a bag of treats from the maple and glass coffee table. She rattled the bag and pulled out two identical cookies. "Tuna!" Cherry cheered, racing forward. She grasped a cookie in her mouth a nudged the other over to Watertail. The woman timidly cocked her head and slowly patted Watertail on his head.

  • Watertail looked nervously at the woman. She patted his head every so gently. He took the cookie of the floor and bit into it. It was much nicer than prey back in the forest. Watertail purred and laid down to enjoy his snack. He looked up at the twoleg as it watched his ever move. He really did hope they would let him stay, because if he returned the clan would want to know where he had been. He finished the cookie quickly and licked his lips. Indoors was nice and warm, whilst outside it was a chilly december. He looked at Cherry and meowed happily, "thanks for letting me stay."

  • Cherry smiled warmly. 'The more the merrier." She purred. "By tomorrow she'll most likely have a pillow for you. For now, we'll sleep in the garage. You can see the stars because the roof is glass, and when Reedwhisker first moved in he bit a hole in the plaster so fresh air comes in. It's more like the forest, but with a built in heater and wool beds." She finished her cookie and licked her lips. The man twoleg came in and looked awfully mad that another cat had came. But this mate made a sad face and he laughed, hugged her, and nodded. They exchanged a few words before departing.

  • Watertail happily purred and nuzzled Cherry. "Thank you, for everything. You're amazing." He followed her to the so called 'garage' and laid on the ground. A cool breeze came in through the crack and the stars above shone brightly. I hope Starclan isn't too mad...

  • Meanwhile Violetstorm was shivering in the cover of a sparse tree. She didn't dare sleep on the ground, for fear of...anything. She had no idea where Watertail or Cherry were, but she didn't mind being alone. Alone was better than Scourge. She shivered again, this time from the thought of his hideous collar. The warmth slowly ebbed from her body as she settled into a numb sleep.
