Mekai soon arrived at the lake. Without hesitation she dove in without a splash. She reappeared a couple fox-lengths away, looking small and sleek because of the water. She purred.

Quickly, Kreme fell in quite clumsily. The water splashed loudly. "This is cold." He commented.

Mekai's whiskers tiwtched in amusement. She swam smoothly through the water towards Kreme. "You'll get used to it" she mewed.

Kreme smiled at her. "Do you really miss the ocean?"

Mekai nodded.

Kreme nodded sadly. "I wish I could help."

"Well..." Mekai mewed. "You already do just by being here"

Kreme blushed. "Thanks."

"I should be the one thanking you" Mekai replied.

"Why?"

"Because you bring me joy, like nobody else has" Mekai mewed slowly.

Confused, Kreme tiltled his head. "Huh?"

Eyes shining, Mekai leaned forward and licked Kreme. "You brought me love"

Kreme blushed and started to stutter. "Me-mek-Mekai, wi-will you be-become my ma-mate?"

Mekai stifled a gasp. "Yes!" she mewed.

Kreme smiled. "I love you." He said with honesty.

"I love you too" Mekai mewed. Her face was a picture of pure joy.

Kreme purred.

Mekai purred along with Kreme. She swam to shore and shook her fur, sending water droplets flying. She lay down on a large flat stone, basking in the sun and drying off.
