Mekai settled into her nest. She took one last glance at Kreme before closing her eyes.

Kreme fell deep asleep.

Mekai dozed off..

Kreme twitched in his sleep.

Mekai woke up the following morning. At first she forgot where she was, and imagined she was back in the alley. SHe was a little confused at first, but last night's events came flooding back to her.

Kreme, still asleep rolled until he was comfy.

Mekai padded over to the pool, lapping up some water.

Finally awake, Kreme opened his eyes. "Mekai, did you sleep well?"

Mekai nodded. "And you?"

"Yeah."

Mekai groomed her pelt, licking all of the ruffles flat and restoring her fur's softness.

Slowly, Kreme got up. A thought flew through his mind, as he blushed. Sharing tongues? We're just friends...

Mekai finished grooming her pelt and padded outside of the cave, letting out a purr of pleasure as the sun warmed her pelt.

Kreme followed. "Where are you going?"

"Enjoying the sun" Mekai replied. She closed her eyes and basket in the warmth, setting a warm glow to her light brown tabby fur.

Kreme smiled at her. "Yeah, the sun is wonderful."

Mekai smiled. "Want to go swim?" she mewed. "It's more fun than you think"

"Sure." Kreme replied.

Mekai spotted a lake in the distance. She trotted towards it.
