    Featherkit playfully splashed Moonkit with mud. "Ew!" Moonkit whined. Amberlight narrowed her eyes at her four daughters. "Featherkit!" she said. Featherkit rushed over. "Was that very nice?" asked Amberlight. "Nuh-uh... But it sure was funny!" the kitten said happily. Her mother pushed her over and sighed. "Time-out." she said. Featherkit sighed. "Ugh."

    Goldenkit and Moonkit started play-fighting. "Alright, time for a nap, kits!" Amberlight called. The kits whined. "No! We aren't even tired, mama!" Featherkit whined. "No, you are tired but stubborn. Now into the nursery, kits..." Amberlight said, nudging them along. Willowleaf was working, cleaning her medicine cave.

    Inustar walked out of her den. The young leader looked around her clan. She smiled. Everything is perfect here, she thought happily. The pretty tabby smiled. Her dark brown taby fur sparkled in the sun. Her blue eyes kind and caring.

    Amberlight snuggled her babies. She was proud to have such a healthy litter. She knew though that one day she'd have to find another mate and have more kits. But she didn't think about that now because she had four new daughters and lived in a safe place to raise them.

    Inustar jumped on top of her den.'' Clan meeting'' she yowled. She had called a clan meeting for a reason. The leader sat down and curled her tail around her paws. She waited for her clan to gather.

    Amberlight waited until the kits fell asleep when she slipped away and sat under the rock. Goldenkit woke up when she heard the mews of cats and realized her mother was gone. She started whining and crying and wandered out of the nursery.

    '' I have an annoucement'' she began. Inustar looked at her gathered clan. They needed more members.But that is not the reason she called the meeting.

    '' No more border patrols for the time being, just hunting'' Inustar meowed. She hoped off the roof of her den and flicked her tail letting them know the meeting was over. She padded back into her den. She sat down on her nest and cleaned her pelt. She was quite lonley.
