shatteredtears- a dream that will never come true of getting a mate

shatteredtears, a beautiful young she-cat that is marked by scars streaking down her once beautiful face. she roams the woods looking for a better future. she is running..... trying to hide from what is out to get her. She can never be loved again. she falls. she cries to herself, but gets up, she looks up at the moon, her breath fogs up in the frosty air. she moves on, leaving her paw-prints in the snow, for somebody else to find. take her in and love her. As tears run down her face, she travels on with only the hope in her heart. She come across a puddle. the moonlit puddle sitting there, mocking her. as she stares at her reflection she sees herself, a monster, a cat the was never supposed to exist. she lies there by that puddle. with a hiss of fury she swipes her paw into the water making it ripple. she runs of. In the cold she walks all alone. not a soul to love. all she ever wanted was a mate. why must the forest hate herself so much. As she pads in the forest shes a ghost, an unwanted, and outcast. she looks up at the stars and pleads with tears running down her face,"Just one person that will see the true beauty in me. thats all i ever wanted." her ringing voice that sounds like an angel fades in the night. as she pads on, she never gives up.

the she-cat half turned her head to look at the tom so he could not see the scars streaking her face. she tried to smile but no matter what she tried she just sat there and cried. when she finally was able to gasp out a word, she feels a little spark of hope in her heart. as she begins to speak, her soft voice rings in the crisp winter air," hello, i am shatteredtears. nobody has a soul to care about me in the world. so why would you come to me, why." she cries and bows her head, after being hated and thrown away for so many years she has never learned that anybody could love her. she was always putting herself down. she tries to be friendly and she fully turns her face towards the handsome tom and pads up to him with her head bowed. tears drip down her face. she looks into his eyes pleadingly and says,"im sorry" just a simple sorry was all she could say. this might be the only cat she would ever have a chance with. her eyes gleam beautifully in the moonlight."sorry, i have never had a chance to fully get to know somebody. i have a torn heart and a scarred face. not a soul in the world has the time beings to care for me." she looks deeper into the toms eyes. she realized that this cat had the same feelings. she turned her head away and let tears run down her face. she once again had blown her only chance to find a true friend

shatteredtears stifles a purr, nobody had ever talked to her like that, her heart was touched. there was a new warmth inside her she had never felt before. her gaze softened at the tom,"but why, why would you of all cats help a cat like me," her eyes darted down at her paws until she looked up at him again,"im' truly thankful for you caring." shatteredtears tried to smile, but all she could force out was a small grin. this has been just one of the few moments in her life that would always be remembered, a memory that will be treasured forever. A start of something new. she new that this tom was something else, maybe he could weasel into her heart, only if she could do the same to him. she knew that this was destined. to cats that share the same dreadful loneliness for their lives, come together to make peace. shatteredtears was finally beginning to see a new light in the world she had never seen before, she had faith in this tom.

shatteredtears looks at the tom in aw of what he had just said to her. her ice-blue eyes look at him straight in the eyes, with the glaze in his eyes, she sees herself. he was an equal, a cat that actually had a heart to let others in, shatteredtears knew that everything this cat said was true. the look on his face told her he meant it all, every single word of it. with the few words shatteredtears said, she was caught in one of the best moments of her life. her eyes shimmered with a new life that had never been a part of her before. she had feelings for this cat. as if they were connected. they both shared a past that left them in ruins, but this tom seamed to have found away to climb over it. she wanted to learn more from this cat. this cat could show her a better life, he was her only chance. with a soft mew shatteredtears replied, "well thanks for the company, ive never really actually had a nice conversation" shatteredtear's gentle mew echoed softly through the forest. "well this is the best company ive had in moons. whould you like to find a place out of the snow, maybe find a catch and settle down and chat? i would enjoy the company." shatteredtears got up and padded away flicking her tale signaling swallow to follow.

as shatteredtears separated from the cat for a few moments while she took a joyful hunt. she caught a vole but that was it due to the scarce amount of prey in leaf-bare then returning to the cat she sat with swallow as they quietly shared meals. As shatteredtears ate, thoughts raced through her mind. how could this cat be so loving when he is so lonely, but more importantly to her why was he so generous to her? shatteredtears licked her jaws and closed her eyes letting the wind rustle in her fur. she was in such a good mood. she felt as if there was not a thing in the world that could ruin thin moment. shatteredtears glanced at swallow and decided she could trust him and that she would stick with him for awhile.

with a short nod of agreement, shatteredtears followed the tom. when they arrived at the old rabbit den, shatteredtears was drowsy and fell into a deep sleep soon after they got there. curled up in a tight ball, she purred through the sweet dreams she had in she sleep

shatteredtears woke up in the crack of dawn and crouched in the rabbit den washing herself, thinking of how grateful she was for the warmth swallow had given her that night.

"it was great, it was a nice change to have some warmth with me in the night. i usually have to take shelter under a small pine tree in the cold." shifting her paws shatteredtears smiled.

shatteredtears considered the idea. after thinking she finally replied,"sure. thats a good idea." shatteredtears nodded thinking about the situation. it would be nice to settle down, find a warm place to live, and have a place with lush prey. she enjoyed thinking about such a peaceful place looking at swallow she tilted her head an asked,"to you have any ideas of were it can be?"

shatteredtears' eyes lighten up. she had never seen one beautiful thing in the world. she imagined a place with live trees and plentiful prey. This was one of the best images painted in her mind. yet she had never seen such a place, she was so attached to it. Shatteredtears wondered if anything in this harsh world could be true. yet there is still a place for her to rise of and have a decent life. She snapped out of it shaking her head, then with a cheerful mew she said,"that sounds wonderful, when should we start heading off."
