Frigidice licked one paw slowly, gazing around him, taking in the camp with slitted eyes.

  • Silkflower padded out of the nursery, her mouth full of dirty moss. She sighed. When can I go out to hunt? Silkflower wondered, gazing up at the low winter sun. And as if Starclan read her thoughts, one of the senior warriors said she could stop and go hunting with another cat. Relieved, Silkflower scanned the camp. Then she saw Rosettepelt walking back and forth in the elder's den, looking bored out of her mind. Silkflower had seen Rosettepelt around camp but never met her personally. Maybe I could go with her? She thought. "Hey Rosettepelt!" Silkflower called across the clearing, "Want to come hunting down at the Rocky Pond?" Silkflower's fawn-colored fur flowed around her paws as she sat down on the cool ground and her bushy tail swept across the ground.

  • Frigidice looked up as the she-cat scampered past him. He stretched, snowflakes drifting around him, landing on his white and silver tabby coat. He trotted over to see what was happening.

  • Rosettepelt looked at Silkflower "Of course!" she said her eyes beaming with delight and happiness. She padded towards Silkflower and smiled at Frigidice as she passed him

Frigidice meowed after the two she-cats "Where are you off to?"

  • Rosettepelt turned her head quickly to him " we are going hunting at Rocky Pond..." she said moving her tail in the wind, her long fur slightly moving with the chilling wind.

"I'd like to come, if you'll have me. I've been meaning to get out and do some hunting." the tom meowed in his deep, cool tone, flicking his tail and twitching his whiskers as a snow flurry hit him on the nose.

OOC: I gotta go - continue and I'll join back in later :>

  • Rosettepelt looked at Silkflower then at Frigidice "the more the merrier," she said before giving Silkflower a hope that's okay with you look

OOC: Me too but i will be on later

  • A chilled breeze ruffled Silkflower's pelt. She sniffed the air, taking in the dank wind that signaled an oncoming storm. "Well we might want to get a move on then if we want fresh-kill before the storm breaks." Silkflower meowed as she trotted toward the camp entrance. She glanced behind her as she went, checking if the others were following. "Unless you want to hunt hares in a blizzard." she called behind her back.

  • Rosettepelt shook her head then followed her prancing threw the snow.

  • Silkflower bounded through the cold snow, scooping up flurries with every step. It took her by surprise when the ground went from hard rock to round pebbles covered with a thin layer of ice. Silkflower turned quickly behind her to see the others catching up. "Hey guys, We're heeerrrre........!" She gasped as her paws skidded on the slick ice, sending her slipping across the rocks and landing in a furry heap at the bank.

  • Rosettepelt didn't know whether to laugh or be weird and concerned. "You okay?" she asked with a friendly smile. She padded carefully toward Silkflower every once and awhile she would lose her balance but never fell.

  • Silkflower spat snow out of her mouth. "Mousedung!" She muttered. Do I have to be so clumsy? Silkflower wondered. "Yes, I'm okay. Though I lost a bit of dignity!" Silkflower chuckled as she scrambled up onto her paws. What surprised her was Rosettepelt carefully padding over the ice, not slipping even once as she walked to Silkflower. "You're lucky you have good balance!" Silkflower meowed. Seeing a sandy patch at the edge of the lake that was ice-free, Silkflower di a big leap toward it landing perfectly on the sand. A patch of unfrozen water lapped at the bank. "Come on over!" She called, "I can give you a fishing lesson if you'd like?"

  • Frigidice suppressed a laugh as the she-cat skidded across the ice. He stepped carefully across the ice, to the thawed spot. He sat, curling his tail around his paws, meowing "I used to do lots of fishing, fish are my favorite, actually. Along with frogs, but they're all hibernating this time of year." He sniffed at the dark water, and then sat very still, like a rock, as he watched with a piercing blue gaze, waiting for an opportunity.

  • Rosettepelt smiled "Right now I'm just very lucky," she said moving her long tail as she walked. Her eyes moved over to Frigidice "To slimy for me, I like voles, birds, you know things that are warm and furry," she said flashing her teeth.

  • Silkflower purred in amusement. "Well I'll eat just about anything. I group up on mice, voles, fish, squirrel....really everything. But I'm not a fan of birds." She meowed, making a face, "Too many feathers. My favorite is carp." Silkflower sat down and looked memorably at the smooth pebbles on the bank of the lake. "My mother once took me to a lake and taught me how to catch trout. I ended up learning how to swim!"

  • Rosettepelt laughed. "My big brother taught me how to climb before he left," she said looking at the sky dramatically. "Gotcha he's not dead he just betrayed us and went to BloodClan," she said clenching her jaw together. Don't worry everything will be okay. If you have any brains you'll come one day and take your place as deputy when I become leader... Was the last thing he had said to her before he ran off into the bushes.

Frigidice looked away from the frozen pool for a moment to look at Rosettepelt. He watched her as she clenched her jaw, and looked past him and Silkflower, off to a past he did not know.

He thought of his own past; of his mother. His eyes closed, and he sighed a little, remembering her before her death, crouching in the small, drafty den that was their home. Going out hunting every day to keep her alive, to keep them alive. His mother, with her spiky brown pelt, and bristly demeanor.... She didn't go without a fight, that was for sure. But, greencough took her in the late winter months. He got it also, but was lucky enough to find a patch of catmint, which he knew was the vital medicine, and he had survived. He flexed his claws and looked at the frozen water. Those were tough times... He thought.

  • Rosettepelt shook the thought away "So fishing... here to learn," she said with a slight sigh.
