  • "Hey Orchidpaw, do you want to go training later? I can teach you some hunting."meowed Koisplash in pleasure.Dreamstar had entrusted her to train young Orchidpaw, and she felt proud of it.Orchidpaw was her very first apprentice, Koisplash just hoped she didn't fail as a mentor."I kept trying to find you when I became a warrior but it seemed I always just missed you."chuckled the young calico.

Flyingspark's ears were bent, yes but they curved towards the back of his head unlike those with flopped ears like Winterstar. His silky, feather soft coat was well kept for somebody that was as clumsy as himself. The young tom had a tendancy to get over confident and cocky but also simple minded now and then. But the white, ginger patched warrior was not stupid, far from it really. It just how his personality was----he was pretty much a knuckle head much of the time. But he wanted to make a good impression."Yeah, we uh, ritually crashed into each other while hunting last moon. She and I became pretty close friends faster then a kit could catch a full grown rabbit."meowed Flyingsparks, blushing as his voice quivered from stuttering.Neither of them wanted to give in and admit they loved each other. His brown gaze dart towards Dragonkit and Myrrthkit. With a swish of his bushy, feather like tail the young tom walked over to the two, with a cocky grin let let loose a giggle."Are you whispering about us?"he asked in good humor.

  • Orchidpaw brightened when she heard her sister's offer. "Sure! I got nothing else to do." She giggled. "Yeah you were too busy off finding a mate I guess. So, Flyingspark? You're my brother in law now?" She grinned at the tom.

  • Whitekit stopped wrestling with her brother when several new cats entered the nursery. She watched, silent, observant. The young kit took in Orchidpaw's words. Whitekit looked at Dragonkit, and noticed for the first time that she had never heard him speak. She had thought that he hadn't learned how to yet, or just didn't want to. Now she was starting to think something was wrong. The blue tabby kit bounded over to her brother. "How come you never talk?" Her eyes burned with curiosity.

  • Waterskipper looked at her silent son. She, too, wanted to hear the answer to this question. If he went on much longer without speaking, she would have to talk to Ambrosiaflare. Something was wrong.

  • Dragonkit gave a slight laugh at Myrrhkit's actions, smiling a bit in bemusement at her comment. While he himself wasn't too fond of Flashingsparks, nor was he impressed by him, thus far he wasn't the type to show outright dislike. Not usually, anyways. So at Myrrhkit's comment he only grinned a bit, but gave a sort of arch of an eyebrow, just because he himself wasn't so bold to say or act like that. Not that he spoke in the first place.

At Orchidpaw's sort of questioning, prodding him like a baby, the tom twitched his muzzle and his expression became blank. Mainly because he didn't want to seem rude, because he would have otherwise made one of refusal or annoyance. He gave another wave of the tail, as if saying that WAS saying hi. It was, too, but it wasn't verbal. He knew that was what she wanted, but he didn't want to talk. At first it had been at the fear of sounding stupid, and now it was both that and habit-but more so the latter.

Flash's words confused him. Faster than a kit catching a full-grown rabbit? Um...what? Wouldn't that take a very long time? If it ever happened at all? This guy definitely seemed on the lower scale of the population's IQ. The chocolate tom would have sighed about this situation thus far, only that would be VERY rude. Besides, as obnoxious and idiotic as this guy seemed to be, he wasn't a jerk just yet-just arrogant and ignorant, or was that just stupidity?

The tom gave a grin of amusement at Flashingspark's inquiry, since Dragonkit never spoke let alone whisper so far in his life. He had a voice, anyone who was observant enough to notice his laughs and such would understand that, he just didn't really...use it.

Suddenly attention had turned to him again, and the tom blinked over to his sister Whitekit, then his mother. Okay then, pressure. He didn't like that, and his face wrinkled in stress ever so slightly, his small body curling up together just a bit as his back slumped. Even though no one meant to, all the attention caused him to react as if he had been somehow heavily insulted or physically injured.

The problem about the refusal to speak was you couldn't explain ideas easily or details on thought. So, he just shrugged and looked away, hoping they would move on to something else. Because right now he felt incredibly hot under his fur, with all those eyes directly and expectantly on him.

  • "We're not whispering." Myrrhkit meowed, shaking her head, believing her words absolute truth. Dragonkit wasn't whispering at all. If Flashingsparks stuck around he'd come to learn this. She mimicked Dragonkit's tail wave to Orchidpaw and Waterskipper at seeing Dragonkit's shrug. "I heard that wide and clear."

  • Finchpaw hesitated outside the nursery and peeked in. Her eyes glanced about nervously, searching for Flyingsparks, her mentor. She'd mustered the courage to scent him out and follow him. The cream tabby she-cat had some training to do, after all, but she wasn't too eager about it. It was more of a matter of dread that she wanted to get over quickly.

I sure hope I'm not interrupting anything here. she thought silently to herself and twitched her slender tail. Upon seeing the ginger tom, she gave an almost-friendly nod of her head. “Hi, Flyingsparks,” she mewled quietly. Her copper eyes flickered to the calico she-cat next to him.

That’s Koisplash, right? I wonder if Flyingsparks is bringing her to help me train. I hope not. I’ll be nervous enough... maybe I shouldn't bring up my training yet. They look busy.

The young she-cat's gaze wasn't focused on anybody in particular now, but instead, she was mainly taking in the fact that there was a good number of cats here. Some were younger than she, merely kits, while others were WindClan's warriors. She knew most of them by name. What kind of a Clan cat didn't know his or her own comrades, after all?

  • "Honey, I know you can understand us, and I heard that delightful laugh, so why don't you speak?" said Waterskipper. "Come on...just a little sentence?" She knew her son was the shy one of the bunch, but he was entering an age where it would quickly become a lot more of a hindrance for him. There was only so long that she herself would be able to do everything and say everything for him.

  • At hearing Orchidpaw's words both Flyingsparks and Koisplash started to feel their faces turn hot."WE'RE NOT MATES!"they both yowled in protest.Denial, such a strange thing it was.Anybody could see their true feelings were clear as crystal.

"My name is Flyingsparks."grumbled the tom bitterly. But at the kit's words he gave a smirk out of good nature."It was nice meeting you all but I must go.Got a apprentice to train up."meowed the young american curl. The ginger and white tom then left, giving Myrrthkit a gentle swat on the ear, ruffling her head fur as well before leaving."See yeah kid,"he chirped and left the nursery. His gaze softening as he glanced at Koisplash but hastily turned his brown eyes away and was soon out of sight.

"I go into heat once and flirt with Victorythrill and this happens! He's just my friend, I'm NOT in love with Flyingsparks."she meowed yet again. But as Flyingsparks left and vanished out of sight her heart raced, her face turning redder then the red splotches in her fur.But she gave her head a shake and rubbed her face."Yeah, that will be good Orchidpaw."

  • "...You were in heat? Did you mate with anyone?" Orchidpaw knew what that might mean, and that it was probably all too true. She, herself, was going to be an aunt. "Koisplash, are you pregnant?"

Lunecry, who had just stepped back in again, stared. She looked at Koisplash, not saying a word...just staring.

  • Finchpaw flinched and looked up, obviously surprised by her mentor and Koisplash’s outbursts. Her ears flattened and she averted her gaze. She wasn’t involved with any of their personal troubles and had no desire to be. Pregnancies weren’t any of her business and she felt awkward just standing there listening.

When Flyingsparks promptly turned to leave, saying he had an apprentice to train, Finchpaw couldn't help but breathe out a sigh of relief and gratefulness. Had he acknowledged Finchpaw’s presence? She hadn't noticed him glancing at her. Either way, she turned to follow him out of the nursery. She was glad to escape whatever mess she had stumbled upon. I guess it’s time for my training…

  • "No, I didn't mate with anybody...thank goodness for that."snorted the calico. "I ran into Flyingsparks after I came out of heat. He's a good tom, cocky and a knuckle head, but a good tom none the less.He and I have a lot in common. And he is a great friend."purred Koisplash. At catching her aunt's scent a giggle escaped her.Hastily she turned her amber eyes onto Lunecry."Hi auntie! You just missed my new friend, Flyingsparks."

  • Orchidpaw started to smile again, and feel her muscles unlocking. Koisplash getting pregnant right now would have been such a disaster. Orchidpaw loved and still looked up to her older sister, but had the growing feeling she was not ready for motherhood. "Well I bet you're glad about that. So...you're just...Umfriends?" She winked.

Lunecry had been standing and listening to the talk. "Orchidpaw, please, leave them alone. Hi honey! Glad to see you made a new friend."

  • "De Nile's not just a river in Egypt." Rosemary sighed, a common term about denial she'd always heard tossed about back as a house cat. Koisplash wasn't pregnant, but it was probably only a matter of time. She looked bashfully to the ceiling, not making eye contact.

Kismetpaw's head tilted. That had to be the weirdest thing she'd ever heard out of anyone's mouth. What was Egypt? No matter, she had a feeling the nursery'd be getting crowded with all the kits coming.

Myrrhkit went over the conversation, brow furrowing. Who was that guy correcting. No one had spoken his name. Maybe he was upset about that. Or maybe... She cast an uneasy glance to where Flyingsparks had just left... Maybe he could read minds. Myrrhkit burst out into laughter at such an idea.

  • Dragonkit smiled in appreciation to Myrrhkit, who stood up for him somewhat, and edged closer to her when Waterskipper pushed him to speak up. He shook his head, surprised by his own defiance-but even Dragonkit had things he wouldn't give in to. Not even if his mom was the one supporting it.

At Flashingsparks outcry, Dragonkit jumped, shocked. He felt himself tremble as he crouched to the ground. What was WRONG with that dude? The brown kit's pupils remained swollen for a few moments, his short, bristling hair stretching as high into the air as they could. He didn't leave the position until the tom left, the guy wasn't normal. His intelligence seemed off, and he got that arrogant, cocky look at random times.

Dragonkit didn't like him, and he didn't like the bull that was being pulled by him and Koisplash. Was this that thing that they called lust? How could it be love? Love was the sort of serious attachment you had to a family member, MAYBE an old mate, not some guy you met a moon ago. There was no depth to that sort of 'love.'

After Flashingsparks exited, Dragonkit slowly straightened back into a sitting position adjacent to Myrrhkit. Who, thus far, was his favorite family member-along with his mother.

He was just glad the topic had gone to Koisplash being possibly pregnant. Yet, he looked confused at the word 'heat.' What did they mean, heat? It was getting colder, not hotter!
