"I-I don't know," Stonekit mumbled, looking up as well. His yellow eyes were troubled. "They did take Cranekit..."

"Come on, Echokid, and Sallonkid, Wed's go oudide!" she mewed before trotting out of the crowded den.
-
She nodded. "It's why. I wanted someone for Cranekit, and also to show we could die without them wanting us too. Make sense?" Gratitudekit could hope that Stonekit would see it, and understand her -- maybe better than Whitepaw, because Stonekit knew the loss of Cranekit like she did.
-
"But that's little better than being a murderer," protested Stonekit uncomfortably. "It's probably what StarClan expect from cats they've taken from..." His tone was bitter, but the blue tom couldn't bring himself to denounce StarClan fully yet.
-
"Murder? That's what StarClan does." Gratitudekit mewed. "Anyway, Whitepaw's made it clear that you're right. It's not the answer. Because they want us to die. SO we've got to do the opposite."
-
"They probably call it something else," scoffed Stonekit. His yellow eyes darkened. "They wouldn't call it murder..." He shook his head and looked up. "Yeah, we've got to live," he finally said.
-
"So." Gratitudekit shuffled her paws. "You don't have to be scared anymore."
-
"Yeah," Stonekit agreed. His whiskers twitched. "Aunty Lune and Gran Waterskipper worry too much anways. It's easy to go overboard."
-
Gratitudekit didn't say anything to that. Her head turned. "We gotta stick together."
-
"Mm-hm," Stonekit mewed. He paused, then plowed on. "Is there anything else you want to tell me?"
-
"Okay, that's fine," Firekit said with a sigh. Scarredstar was stillon their side and that sucked. "By biased I mean, they like their own kits way more then me and Haily."
-
"How do you know this?" Scarredstar asked. He didn't understand why the kit was so upset, he was trying his best to be in between all of them. What more could he offer to Firekit?
-
"Because whenever one of Lunecry's kits and me and Haily get in trouble us two always get the worse punishment and sometimes they don't even punish their own," Firekit mewed tears coming from his face.
-
"That's not right, Firekit. We'll fix this, I promise." Scarredstar gently used his large paw to wipe the kit's tears away.
-
Rosemary watched the whole exchange silently. Personally she was hiding, but these cats had far worse problems than she.
-
"Thank you Mr. Scarredstar," Firekit mewed with a curt nod to the leader sitting down and snuggling with his sister.
-
"Would you guys be interested in taking a walk out in the moors?" Scarredstar offered to the kits.
-
Bluepaw walked hurriedly into the nursery. When he entered, he lightened his footsteps for the sake of the kits. "Rosemary?" he called.
-
Firekit nodded liking the idea. "Yeah, lets go!"
-
"Errr... Hi." Rosemary meowed, looking anywhere but at Bluepaw. She'd go off and run again. But there was always the fact that things could be worse. Lunecry and Waterskipper were so strong... And she couldn't handle one simple tom.
