  • Jaguarheart padded out of the bracken and went past the shiny rocks. She bent down, and lapped up some water from the river. She sat neatly in some long grass; her tail wrapped around her paws. She was waiting for some Warriors or apprentices to join her hunting patrol.

  • A grey tabby she-cat and a reddish tom padded up to Jaguarheart. "Are you going on patrol? I'm Mistpool and this is my apprentice, Foxpaw. Can we join you?" The grey she-cat asked. Foxpaw blinked hopefully at Jaguarheart before being distracted by a butterfly.

  • Jaguarheart nodded. "There's always room for more. Besides, we need more fresh kill anyway. The prey is starting to dissapear." She flicked her tail, signaling for the cats to follow her, and she trotted off and hid in the undergrowth.

  • Mistpool nodded. She slid after Jaguarheart into the undergrowth, scenting the air for prey. Foxpaw immediately forgot about his butterfly and silently padded over to his mentor, ready for anything. He was confident he would catch the most prey!

  • Jaguarheart tasted the air and looked around. She spotted a large mouse and she carefully stalked towards it. When she was close enough, she silently leaped and landed on it, crushing it. She picked it up and buried it beneath a large maple tree.

  • As Jaguarheart was hunting her mouse, Foxpaw caught the scent of a water vole. He quickly caught it and began hunting another. Mistpool had found a sparrow pecking at the ground, and had just killed it. The grey she-cat turned to Jaguarheart.
    "Let's fish now," She suggested.

  • Jaguarheart nodded. "During leafbare there's always plenty more fish in the river than prey on the ground. Lets go." She padded towards the river and layed down beside the edge, waiting for a fish to swim by. Soon enough, a small trout swam her way and she sent her paw diving into the river, swooped up the fish and speedily batted it with her other paw.

  • Fateclaw shot her paw into the cold water, claws extended. She hooked them around a shiny fish and yanked it out. The fish flopped around for a bit before going limp. She added it to the slimy pile of three she already had. She was about to try for another scaly creature when Fateclaw saw three of her clan mates come up to the river. "Hello," she greeted them.

  • "Hello," Mistpool replied, "Would you like to fish with us?" Foxpaw turned to look at Fateclaw before snagging a fish in the river. The fish flew flew up and hit him square in the face. Yelping, Foxpaw leapt back into the river. Then, realizing his fright was only a fish, sheepishly swam back to shore.

  • Fateclaw held down a giggle as a fish flew out of the river and hit Foxpaw in the face. "Sure," Came her reply, her eyes still sparkling with amusement. She surveyed the party. Besides Mistpool and Foxpaw, there was a she-cat named Jaguarheart. Fateclaw searched for another fish again.

  • Foxpaw stared at the water, trying to think of something that would cover up his mistake, but he couldn't think of anything. He watched as Mistpool snagged another fish. When he saw another one, he jumped into the water and jabbed the fish with his fangs before coming back to the surface.

  • Jaguarheart Nodded at Fateclaw as a large salmon swam towards her. "Catch it, Fateclaw!" She meowed eagery.

  • Fateclaw darted her paw into the spot Jaguarheart had indicated. Out came a silvery fish, flopping desperately. She swiftly killed it, thanking Starclan. "Thanks Jaguarheart!" She sat down next to her pile of fish, wrapping her silver tail around her paws.
