Jello smiled. He looked at his sisters, who were unusually quiet.
-
"It's all right. We got enough cats here we can hopefully get enough food for everyone." He still didn't know if Ferdinand would make it, though. The tom was sleeping again, apparently in either deep recovery, or dying.
-
Jezebel looked at Miro for a long moment, hoping to God that the tom knew how truly grateful she was. Words couldn't express, really, how much she was in his debt. "I really, really, am thankful, Miro," she said quietly, and it wasn't just for what he was doing for her now; but what he had done. He had given her a friend when she needed one the most. He was truly generous, kind. "I-I suppose I should introduce you to my - my cubs, shouldn't I? My son is Jello, and my daughters are Jenica, Jehralla, Jessie, and Jenell." Came her quiet murmur as she flicked her tail to the cubs as she said their names. Frozen for a moment she remained seated, knowing she had something else to say; and knowing full on very well that it would be an odd request. "Miro. . . I have something else I need to ask of you. It's crazy, I know, but. . . When I went back for my cubs, there was a rabbit. Then I moved them all, and the rabbit followed us. A-and then, I had to make trips to get my babies, right? Well each time she was still there. . ." She trailed off slightly, wondering if perhaps the rabbit was a guardian angel of her children. Maybe. ". . . If. . . If she comes back again. . . I. . . I don't think we should eat her."
Suddenly her eyes flickered back over to the sleeping Ferdinand. They grew wide - she had completely forgotten about the tom in all of the chaos of her children. "How is he doing?" Came her whispered reply as she moved closer to him. He didn't look that good - but appearances could be deceiving, right?
Jenica sat quietly as her mom spoke, not very amused by the whole situation at all. She was having another 'situation' going on, though. Lux. She was talking to her again. Rambling, like she seemed to often do. Her ears pinned back and she sat very still with a very upset expression on her face. One that could be compared to that of constipation, really. "I," she said with a slight flick of her tail. "Really do like you, Lux, but you talk far too much." Now she had no idea she would be thought of as crazy; she had no idea that nobody could see Lux but her.
-
"Yo," mewed Jello. They'd already met, no need to make a production of it.
-
"It's all right..don't worry about it." Sparing a rabbit's life hardly seemed comparable in size of burden compared to helping raise five young cubs. Five. Miro hadn't even known that was possible. Some cats had all the luck.
"That's fine. I won't kill it if it's, if it's that one." Right now he was just trying to sort out how this was going to work. "Well, this isn't much of a shelter. You know of a better den area? Where were these cubs staying with your friend? We should go back there. We're out in the open here, almost, and there's a kill besides." Miro knew it wouldn't be long before scavengers arrived, including coyotes and other animals who'd have no trouble picking these cubs off.
-
A smile appeared on her face, nervous and a bit frazzled, but a smile nonetheless. "Okay. Thank you." She didn't know why but she liked the rabbit. It had stayed with her cubs, watched over them, while there was nobody else with them. It was all so surreal - a prey guarding what should be it's predator. It was all going back to the God thing for her - Could these children truly be, as she thought, the sons and daughters of the lord herself? It was unlikely, surreal, and just plain out crazy. But for some reason, she couldn't help but think it was so. She knew it was crazy, and yet. . . Well, maybe it was because she was crazy.
A brief hesitation, and then she sighed. "She wasn't my friend," that much she wanted to make clear - - A friend would not, would not have let cubs to die. She shook her head in slight dismay and looked around slightly, her gaze growing hazy - tired. This was all too much for her as well. "She was staying in a barn," came her meow after a moment, a hesitant one. "Not that far from here, a half an hours time or so. Abandoned, though, I believe. It bore no scents of twolegs." She looked over to Ferdinand, then. "Will he be able to make it that far, though?" She was worried for him. Very worried.
-
"I don't know, but I think he's going to be okay if he gets a chance to recuperate," said Miro. "The barn sounds like a good spot--if you're sure twolegs never come around there anymore. There any roads near it?" That was the main thing he did his best to stay away from. Twolegs found your tracks that way.
-
( ( OOC | I just started to make a really long post describing a dirt road. . . Then I remembered there was snow on the ground due to the whole 'winter' thing xD And Wynn, I have a question about the geography, actually, where about are these guys [ speaking as a whole, alll the cats in the game ] I'm assuming the north-west USA and the south western bits of Canada? Since we do, after all, have them traveling west to go to the ocean. xD Or - - Are they in Europe? I've always pictured them in more of a north-western setting though because of the animals found here [ bobcats, lynxes, and cougars ]; I know this game is a lot different than the books [ which were set . . . um, over there somewhere xD ] so yeah, just asking ^^;
Anyway, as per the snow I am going to have her say that there aren't any roads nearby (: Even though there are, like, dirt roads - - She can't tell because the snow covering it / cars don't travel on it often enough to melt the snow. I'm thinking that maybe the barn could be, like, a seasonal farm? ~ Like, a family comes and stays at it during warmer seasons spring/summer but not during winter or fall because it doesn't have installed heating~ That could add for some drama later on, perhaps ^^; ))
- - -
Jezebel thought about that for a moment, trying to remember if she had seen any roads nearby. "No," she decided after a moment. "There were no roads." Though, it would be hard to tell with the snow blanketing the ground - she was fairly sure, though, as wouldn't all their monsters melt it anyway?
-
ooc: Somewhere in southern BC or Washington State near the west coast, yep :) That's the best place really, since cougars aren't native to Europe and don't exist there outside zoos.
ic: Miro felt a little better then. "Good. Twolegs less likely to cause problems. We've already headed away from the ones closer to my old land. We should be good there."
-
Jezebel nodded, "Okay. Let's start heading that way now." The mountain lion bent her head to pick up one of her cubs, growing worried about them now - - They had been awfully quiet, and she was pretty sure that wasn't a good thing. Before she moved them they had been mewling as loud and as feisty as can be.
-
"All right." Miro nudged Ferdinand, who had just woken again, to his feet. "Come on, we're leaving."
"...All right." Ferdinand, still in a daze, did his best to follow.
-
Jello squirmed as his mother picked him up and his roleplayer's muse returned from writing its blog. "Where we going?" he squeaked.
-
Ferdinand stumbled, but managed to walk on his own. He was growing slowly stronger after his ordeal. But the mysterious voices continued. He was not cured.
-
Jello stared at Ferdinand. Who's he? the cub wondered.
OOC: Wynnyelle? *Stares* I didn't notice that... I've been RPing with moderators unawares.
-
ooc: Yup :) We roleplay too just like everybody else. :)
ic: Ferdinand did slowly wonder who were all these cubs around. But he never quite got the focus to ask. He stared back at the cub staring at him.
-
OOC: I knew that! But I didn't know that I'd get to RP with one! Wynn, I'm your biggest fan/stalker!
Jello stared back. This guy was really ticking him off. Never talked, or did nothin'. "Well, who're you?" he growled. Seriously, he just sat there, like a slug!
-
Jessie rolled ehr eyes at her brother, shaking her head. Sometimes, I think he's stupid. She thought, laughing to herself. He's not stupid. You're the stupid one. Her voice said in a mocking tone, though it still bothered her. "O my gosh! I am not stupid!" She hissed aloud, jumping to her paws before looking around, embarrassment written all over her face. "Umm....sorry." She mewed quietly, looking down at her paws as she sat back down. Told you you were stupid. Jessie rolled her eyes, growling as she flicked her tail back and forth in irritation.
-
Jello stared at Jessie. Why did she talk to herself all the time? Was there something wrong? He sometimes got ticked off at his sisters, but he loved them. If Jess got sick and died, he'd be crushed. "Hey, Jess, you O.K.?" Jello asked.
-
"Huh?" Jessie mewed, flicking her tail as she looked over at her brother. "Oh, oh yeah, I'm fine." She mewed, smiling at him. No you're not. You crazy. "I am not crazy and I am fine!" She hissed under her breath, completely forgetting her brother was there. You're not fine. Look at you, you're talking to yourself! "No I'm not! I'm talking to you!" She hissed, flicking her tail impatiently. "Stop lying to me."
