• Ravi nodded at Atilla, glad he agreed that they should be partners or whatever you'd want to call it. Everyone else also agreed on checking out whatever was in the hallway-Hopefuly something inanimate, or at least friendly. He stood up, ready to go ahead and walk out into the hallway, when Ghoststare pushed past and began to go forward herself, only to look back and hiss at them, asking if they were coming. Ravi flicked his left ear, a disdaintful look on his face. "I got up, didn't I?" Ravi, despite being the more calm of him and Aku, was more ready to make enemies than friends, and had quite a temper if provoked. He looked at Atilla, flicked his tail, and padded forward into the hallway, a few paces down, and turned to the wall, only to be greeted by... "Oh God..." His stomach churned at the form of the mangled cat, his eyes growing wider.

  • Nymph's eyes fluttered open, her long creme and milky brown tail pluming around her, her dark blue unforgiving eyes opened at the sound of a clock chiming loudly, She didn't move, just blandly observed her surroundings. Look where your life has brought you, done to you Nymph, you deserve this, being locked alone in a horrid little twolege house..thats enough torture right? She flicked her tail calmly, decieding to lift her head, wondering if something would attack her and kill her, she somewhat hoped to die, digging her front claws into the floor boards and purring slightly You deserve this.. Slowly the voices stopped and she came to her senses for a moment.

"Where am i?" Her soft voice echos around the room

    Ghoststare

Ghoststare had never had a stomach for blood. It took awhile for her eyes to focus in the dimly lit hall, but the figure of the mangled cat was undeniable. Her mind tried to protect her, tried to convince her it was just a figment of her imagination, but Ravi's voice made her realize it was all too real.

Ghoststare felt her stomach churn as her eyes surveyed the dead cat. Morbid curiosity drew her closer to it. Slowly, she padded forward, both scared and numb by what was happening. As she approached the corpse, the smell hit her. She had to do everything she could to keep from being sick. You poor creature... she thought. What did this to you?

Something caught her eye that made her heart sink. A note... Something did this to this cat... intentionally

  • Nymph rose onto long legs slowly, staring around the dimly lit room, the voices returning to her head, she shook them off and began to pad quietly through the room, she froze when her paws set down on a etching in the floor, splinters racking her pads. Her deep blue eyes widened and she stared

  • The cream tom had been lucky enough to sneak another female into the house, a bloodcurdling grin spread upon his maw.
'Distracting them,' He thought, now his ears cocked in the direction of the mangled cat. 'Oh, wait until Atiila set's his eyes upon the poor, defenceless cat, then maybe he will learn a lesson.'
A purr rumbled deep within the tom-cat's throat before he turned his attention to the floorboards above, his frost blue eyes barely able to make out anything above.
'The way to the second floor is blocked off, for now'
His eyes then flickered upon the she-cat, the new one, the one who goes by the name "Nymphaea".
'Oh, what fun she will have in here!' He thought smugly.

  • The she-cat began to hiss to herself and shake You killed your brother, you deserve this, died and gone to hell yes yes, died and gone to hell.. Her blue eyes flashed as she stared at the floor board message in horror

  • Atilla growled and turned the corner. "What?" he demanded, but it cut short.

    A body.

Quite dead, no doubt about it. He knew the signs. Wounds that didn't bleed, limp form-to say nothing of the smell-gave away the state of the corpse. It had been dead a long while, though not so long that it would decompose beyond recognition.

It seemed to him that it was a killer they were facing. Well, fine. He knew murderers, he knew how to read a corpse to find out the style of the killer. He cast a critical eye on the body.

Even with the corpse being so old, he could see and appreciate the subtleness of the death. The cat had been taken by surprise, probably out hunting, or possibly scouting. Most likely a clanner, a young warrior by the looks of it. The three greatest marks on him-one on the hind leg, to render it immobile; another on the chest, to expose the throat; and a third across the throat, the blow that killed. It had probably been quick, painless.

Actually, probably not. Seeing the way that the eyes were fixed, terrified, staring, and the claws unsheathed, he guessed that the cat had been aware of the assault. A split second between life and death wouldn't give him that. The attacker must have paused, letting the realization sink in, right after the chest blow. Against a truly dangerous foe, that might have been a lethal mistake. Giving the chance for the prey to realize that it was close to death was inviting a torn throat. But in this case, it was just letting the terror freeze him up, render him helpless.

His brow furrowed. That was a good strategy, the mark of a killer who had the knowledge to become dangerous. There was some evidence on the first blow that it was untrained, but had the room to grow. It wasn't as fluid as his own, but he remembered there was a time when his own had been similar.

    Very similar.

In fact, the whole strategy resembled his handiwork.

    Coincidence?

Hardly. He realized that somehow, impossibly, whoever had captured them had managed to find the body of someone who he had killed, long ago. But how did they know?

    How could they have known?

Fernfur stood near the back of the group, mouth agape. Was that... a dead cat? Who had killed it... and why was it here?

"D-do you think it's a warning?.." he asked quietly. "Are we going to die?"

Dying... Fernfur was horrified at the thought. But what had he done to deserve death? What had he done to deserve being locked here in this abandoned twoleg nest? He had no idea who would be out to get him, but the cold, bony fingers of paranoia were slowly starting to choke him.

He made himself appear as small as he possibly could, shrinking to hide behind Ghoststare.

  • Nymph stalked to peer around the corner, she froze when she saw the crowd of cats and the dead body and let out a earsplitting shriek, crumpling in the corner of the old clock and hissing to herself wildly

  • Ravi needed a reason to turn away from the mangled body, and when the high-pitched scream split the air, he finally had one. His head jerked away willingly, the sight becoming too much for him, and he spotted the other cat. She was new, and apparently she hadn't been spilled into the same room they all had been. His eyes widened as he saw the form, and he couldn't help but be suspicious. Could she be...Could she be the killer? He turned his head to look at Atilla, who seemed to be frozen and deep in thought, so he began to pad over silently, his tail high in the air curiously. "You...Who are you?"

  • Nymphaea's unforgiving blue eyes widened "I'm, I'm Nymphaea, call me Nymph or Nym" She murmured, long creme fur flwoing around her "Do you hear those voices?!" She snarls to herself, scraping the ground with her paws and flattening her long pluming ears

  • The cat was named Nymph, and she was going on about...Voices? He flattened his ears against his head, his eyes sorrowful as he shook his head. "N-No, I'm sorry. But I'm Ravi-Have you seen another cat, that looked just like me? His name is Aku, and he's my twin brother. As far as I know, he wasn't left in the room with the rest of us, but I don't know if he's here or not." Ravi really, really hoped he was there. He was nothing without his twin, and his twin was nothing without him.

  • "No, I'm sorry" Nymph pleaded, grabbing her ears and tucking herself deeper behind the clock, trying to block out the horrid things she heard "What happened to that cat??"

  • He honestly felt bad for the she-cat as she seemed to be going even more insane from the voices she supposedly heard inside her head. "Aku...Nothing happened, but I was stolen away from him, and I don't know if he was stolen with me." Ravi said sadly, feeling selfish for caring only about his own problems, but he needed to find Aku.

    Ghoststare

Ghoststare hissed at Fernfur. He snubs her and now tried to use her as a shield? This cat was truly spineless. Her normally soft heart was hardened to him already. Instead, she turned to see who Ravi was speaking to. A twitchy she-cat stood, trying to hide behind the clock in the hallways.

Ghoststare padded over. "Did I hear right? Your name is Nymph?"

Anything to look away from the poor dead cat. Anything to not watch Atilla eerily stare at the thing, almost as if he knew the cat. Had it been a clanmate of his? No, he was obviously anti-clan...

    [/fancypost]

  • Nymph nodded her big unfogiving blue eyes and rose to her full heigh, long pluming tail swishing as she seemed to be regaining some of her mental state, she peered around the corner past the cats and stared at the body

"Is this hell?" She asks quickly, her calm voice echoing around the room

  • The creamy tom gazed from up high within the second floor, his piercing blue gaze eying upon Atiila and hoping the cat would soon realise his mistake.
'The clock is slowly ticking, alas another surpise is due to arise.' He thought maniacally, with that another loud bang was heard within the room closest to the one they awoke within.
Swiftly, the tom padded over the floor boards, which creaked and cracked, before he gazed upon that room. His eyes flickered over the next clue, which had dropped from behind the curtain rail.
'Poor Ghoststare, for she is next to feel my wrath!'
No, he hadn't gone in search of her dead mentor but used a different approach to get her memory to remember the event. Instead, plastered upon the back of the curtain was a message written in blood, that being the tom's own blood. Doing so he lapped at his sore and tender shoulder, which he had mauled in order to produce enough blood.
"Ravencry," was the only written message, however an actually dead but stuffed raven was placed neatly beside the falled curtain. The youngster didn't plan on delivering a sharp and sudden message to Ghoststare, but planned to pain her constantly with the truth.

  • Nymph jumped at a crash, looking around the room wildly, seemingly frozen like a statue comapred to the other cats, her heart ached for her dead brother, wishing him to come and save her Pente, the voices echoed in her head, she pleaded to herself past the other cats, tears filling her deep unforgiving blue eyes Pente..I'm so sorry.. Nymph's legs began to tremble and her creme fur shook, she wasn't afraid of this place, she was afriad of what would happen to her once she left

  • Nymph's question surprised Ravi, and he looked at her with subtle eyes. "I'm still deciding if I'd rather be there than here..." He was slightly abashed at his words, since it didn't seem right to talk about being in any kind of afterlife after seeing that cat , who had fallen victim to an onslaught. "I take that back. I just said that...I guess, because I miss Aku." She probably had no idea who Aku was, and there he was, rambling on and on. It was manifest that the two were deeply connected. When Ghoststare came over, Ravi was mildly surprised since she was giving him the idea that she wasn't exactly kind, but then again, he was still proponent about the idea of befriending her.

He could barely hear her words, even though they weren't directed towards him, above the crashing sound that echoed throughout the halls. "Oh no..." Ravi was nearly terrified to go investigate, so instead of like last time, he refused to be the first one to go ahead and see the probable grotesque sight. Taking one last glance at Nymph, he decided to make his way back to Atilla, since he seemed rather disturbed by the mangled cat. "Atilla, are you okay?" He wanted to get away from the dead cat, but it was like a magnet, for his eyes were drawn to it eventually, the morbid sight once more making his stomach churn. Ravi very badly wanted to go see what the source of the loud noise was, but since Atilla and him had agreed on being partners or whatever, he figured it'd be best to stay there with him.
