Darepaw positioned himself to pin the other cat to the ground.

I'm trapped.
Limepaw struggled underneath Darepaw. He was quite a fierce opponent and admirable for his age, Limepaw had to admit with a stab of self-pity. He suddenly attempted to bite down lightly on Darepaw's paw, giving him the time to roll away deftly... if his opponent flinched only slightly, that is.
-
Darepaw could see what the other apprentice wanted him to do, and held his ground,"Do you give up?"
-
Limepaw struggled for a few more moments after Darepaw asked him whether or not he gave up, but finally he lay still and caught the other tom's eye with an affable smile. "Alright, you got me." Limepaw relaxed and felt a rush of admiration for Darepaw.
-
At the other tom's surrender, Darepaw lept away and sat, he licked his paw and drew it over his ear.
-
Limepaw looked at Darepaw with a rush of curiosity in his heart. "You're a brilliant fighter, you know. How old did you say you were?"
He got up and licked himself as well, a bit of embarrassment in his tone.
-
"Just turned eight moons," Darepaw replied.
-
"Brilliant." Limepaw tilted his head. Only eight months? And he just came into the Clan? He didn't want to push him to much right now. However, though the questions were lingering on his tongue and he just had to ask. "Do you... where did you come from, if you were not born in ThunderClan?" he asked delicately.
-
Darepaw shrugged,"To tell you the truth, I don't know. I woke up in a cave about a moon ago and I couln't remember my past so I travled for awhile, living off my wits until I found ThunderClan. I keep having these weird flashbacks though..."
-
For a moment, Limepaw didn't know what to say. He knew about the flashbacks-- he had flashbacks too. His mother's face, her eyes... her hollow eyes. He shook his head, not meeting Darepaw's gaze. "You remember none of it?" It was a rhetorical question. He couldn't speak. He felt as if he had nothing to offer Darepaw. It's not as if he could openly explain his past either; at least, not without that restless feeling he loathed so much.
He suddenly got up, shaking snow from his pelt. "I should go."
-
Darepaw nodded,"I'm gonna stay here for awhile."
-
Limepaw nodded distantly, not wanting to stay and yet not wanting to go. He began to pad off, only turning back to Darepaw for a moment before leaving. "I- I'll see you around."
-
Darepaw nodded, he felt Lonley, but was determined not to show it. He looked up at the darkening sky and sighed.
-
Limepaw looked back a second time, giving a short sigh. He hated being alone. "You want to come with?" He just couldn't leave. The worst part was he didn't know why.
-
Darepaw shrugged,"Sure, If you like."
-
Limepaw nodded to his new companion, just happy to have someone to come with him. He stepped out into the violet purple of the evening, the snow beautiful as it sparkled in the dying light.
[OOC: should I bump to a different post? ^.^'
-
Darepaw padded through the snow, he loved the winter, except the fact any prey worth two mouse tail was nestled safe in it's burrow.
-
Limepaw looked at Darepaw, shuddering at the cold air. "I can't stay too long in that den, you know?" He meowed. "Claustrophobia." He paused for a moment, still not able to believe Darepaw's story and very curious about his past. "What are the flashbacks like?" he asked, lowering his eyes.
-
Darepaw looked at the snow,"Me. Sitting in the snow as a kit. And… I see a beautiful orange tabby. My mother, I think. She's smiling at me. Then a flash of white. And a scream. That's how they always end."
-
A shudder ran through the gray-brown tabby as he closed his eyes and tried to see what Darepaw saw. It was frightening, and drove him to further mystification. "Does it hurt?" he asked quietly, opening his eyes. "Does it hurt to think about it?"
