Cave and Prison

"My mother was punished when the plot against Snowstar came to a head I know that, and it was found she was with them," said Cypresshill. "But she's in good standing now. I don't remember the details because I was still so little."

Sagenight nodded. "What I know of, at least what unbiased parts I know, is that Thrasherclaw and Lunarchill were meeting. Then they kidnapped Flyerheights, and a SnowClan patrol came. Thrasherclaw killed Snowstar then...with a slash from the chest down to the belly."

"Ahh, sorry bout dad....", Catbird truly didn't know why he apoligized for their dad. Maybe it was because he was born into the Blackhearts and was raised by him, while Cypresshill had never really met him, and his mother had been punished for him. It was just his guilty consience.

"No need to apologise for a dad we had no say in having. He's gone now and that's all that matters," said Cypresshill. "I can only guess it was Snowclan's lack of vigilance that let things get so bad in the first place. How else could a plan like that flourish so well without anyone knowing? I like to think we're more secure now--I couldn't ever seeing Puddlestar fall victim to something like that."

"Well, I guess it was pretty hard to see rebellions for Snowstar!", Catbird called out, before starting laughing. "Get it? See?"

Sagenight raised an eyebrow. He certainly didn't see. The brown tabby had gotten no point out of this. "Explanation, please?"

"Yeah...explain," Cypresshill looked at Catbird a little funny. "I was saying because back at that time the clan's population was dwindling, or so I've been able to tell from what I've heard about the way things were back then. I know most of the nursery's burrows were empty, and that there are way more cats with us now than there were then."

"Well, I said it must of been hard for Snowstar to see dad's rebellion, seeing how she couldn't see...", Catbird explained. When you had to explain something, it really lost its humor.

"Yeah...she was nearly totally blind from what I've been told," said Cypresshill. "Yet as far as I know she never appointed any guides or bodyguards. I'm not saying let's blame the victim, but there were steps she could have taken to up the security."

"Security would be good...", Catbird mused. "Especially if you're a blind leader..." Suddenly, the blue tabby tom ran out.

OOC: When's the Gathering going to happen? Leaving, he needs to talk to Puddlestar.

Sagenight flicked an ear. Of course, he'd never really been told about Snowstar's blindness. Naturally, a biased account was the only kind to reach his ears. "Soo...is there any other important news?"

Cypresshill shook his head. "Not really. I don't think I could take any more news."

Sagenight flicked his ears. "Alright then," he meowed. "Good luck at the battle."

"Thanks. I'll try and put a good word in for you when I think it's a good time to talk to Puddlestar." Cypresshill nodded once to his brother as he left. "Starclan keep you, brother." Then he was gone.

"You too," Sagenight murmured, going into the smaller den - dragging his moss nest with him - and going to sleep.

Catbird had recently returned home. The blue tabby quickly went to the prison cave to see his brother. "Sagenight, you in?" Catbird called in. Well, duh, he was a prisoner.

"Yeah, I was just out marking an escape route," Sagenight responded sarcastically and jokefully. "Nah, I've been in here all day. I thought I'd heard something about an army going down to BloodClan? Did you win?"

"Just got back. Yeah, enough..." Catbird replied. "Saw mum and Mockingbird..."
