  • She-kit

The small kit walked warily forward, she could smell alot of cats near by, and she didn't like that. She didn't know if these cats were nice, or mean. Despite her fear, she kept her held high, aswell as her tail. She stayed atop of the snow, due to her light weight, but even still, she felt the snow that clung to her stomach drag at her fur.

  • Nightwhisper had been out on a patrol when she spotted a tiny kit struggling through the snow. She raced over to it. "What are you doing out here? You'll freeze to death!" she meowed harshly but only out of concern. Nightwhisper could tell by scent that this was not a clan cat. "Where do you come from? Where is you mother? What is your name, little one?" she questioned in a much softer tone.

  • The she-kit looked up, crouching down slightly, her ears flat against her head. "I don't know where I came from.... or where my momma is.... and.... I don't have a name...." she muttered, staying crouched down, her tail around her back right leg.

  • Nightwhisper became alarmed at this news. Here was a tiny kit trekking through the snow with no name, no mother, and no idea where she was going. Nightwhisper knew she had do something or the kit would not survive. She was afraid she would crush her if she picked her up in her mouth so she laid down, ignoring the cold of the snow. "Come little one, climb on my back. Hold on tight, and don't worry about your claws. They won't hurt me," she meowed softly to the kit. She looked so sickly and cold that Nightwhisper's heart wept. As soon as the kit crawled onto her back, she would race through the forest to bring her to camp, get her fed, and settle her down with a mother.

  • She got onto her back slowly, enjoying the warm of the cats fur, she dug her sharp tiny claws into her fur, not wanting to fall as the cat would run. Her fur puffed out slightly.

  • Nightwhisper raced to the camp with the kit on her back. It took a little longer because she had to avoid obstacles instead of jumping them as she didn't want the kit to fall off. When she got into the camp, she walked the kit over to the nursery and set it down inside. "Stay here for just a moment, I must go talk to the leader," she meowed.

  • She nodded slightly, before looking at the other kits here, she was smaller then them. She backed into a corner slightly, lowering down, her tiny claws digging into the ground. This was scary to her, she'd never seen this many cats before...

  • Nightwhisper was off in Brassstar's den, hoping the little kit was alright.

  • She ran from the nursery, two tom-kits running after her, "You won't live long Tigerstar!" they both mewled, she looked back, "I'm not Tigerstar! Whos Tigerstar?!" she yowled, she scrambled over to Nightwhisper, hiding behind her paw, the tom-kits stopping, staring up at Brassstar then running away.

  • Nightwhisper excused herself and motioned for the kit to follow her. When they were outside Brassstar's den, she crouched to speak to the kit. "How do you like the name Brightkit? That's what I'm goig to name you. Brightkit, were those other kits teasing you?" she meowed quietly.

  • She looked up, "Brightkit..." she echoed, before blinking, "I dont know what they were doing! They were calling me Tigerstar, who's he?" she said, putting her small front paws on Nightwhisper's large paws, her ears going forward.

  • "Oh! They were trying to play with you! Tigerstar was a big mean cat who used to live with the clans. The kits like to pretend that one kit is him and the others are brave warriors that fight him. It's their way of welcoming you," Nightwhisper explained.

  • Brightkit's ears went back, "But I'm not mean- or big!" she said, looking over as the tom-kits from before were wrestling on the ground. She blinked a couple times, "What are they doing?" she asked, she'd never seen two kits 'play' like this, it looked more like fighting then anything she'd ever seen, which wasn't much.
