  • "Willowpaw?" he called to her softly, nudging her. His fur was cleaned and it seemed as though she had slept for a long time. "Time to eat," he murmured softly.

  • Willowpaw's brows twitched, but she opened her eyes to the bright and stinging light,

"Huh?" her voice took more energy than she thought it would to produce and sounded very hoarse. She had to squint to see but could smell Ripplecrown quite clearly, along with some food. She noticed then how empty and shrunken her belly felt and her mouth began to slather.

    "O-okay."

  • He pushed the hare to her. "If you can, you should finish this." He had already eaten himself. Little did she know that he was out the whole time, looking for something that could support her broken paw.

  • Nodding, Willowpaw nosed toward the hare, wincing as the movement upset her paw, but held it in, and bit savagely into the hare ripping it so she could grab and swallow it to keep from thinking about the pain.

  • He watched as she ate the hare. Does she know that her paw is broken? That she might never be able to use it again? Might... He sent a silent prayer to the stars.

  • Willowpaw ate with increasing energy as more of the meat entered her stomach. She refused to think about anything that didn't have to do with her paw and consumed her rabbit with abandon, seeming to grow hungrier with every bite. She soon finished with a lick of her chops and a small burp.

  • He smiled at her. "Feel better?" he asked as he studied her. "Now... let me see your... erm... paw..." He murmured the word as softly as he could.

  • Willowpaw gave a curt nod, her eyes going back to their perpetually angry looking selves, and she pulled her paw out, looking away, and held it out to him.

  • He studied the paw as it hung at an awkward angle. He winced as he studied it once again. There were some wounds on it and he licked it gently.

  • Willowpaw winced sucking air through her fangs like a reverse his when his tongue hit her wonds. She steeled herself though and made sure not to utter another sound.

  • He paused as he heard her gulps of air. He paused and padded outside for a moment. He returned with a wad of wet moss. Without further hesitation, he began to cleanse her paw gently. After all, he knew nothing much about herbs, perhaps cleansing would help. "Tell me if it hurts."

  • After cleaning the wounds, he sat back and looked at her. "I can't do anything more than this. But... I was thinking..." He hesitated. "I can seek the help of your... friend."

  • "Shah?"

It had taken her a minute to think what did he mean, but she figured he was talking about her only frined when she realized...he was her only frined.

"You don't have to. I'll be okay. I just have to rest right. I can do that." She said trying to detur him from going.

  • "No, your paw is broken. I need Shah to help me fix it." he murmured gravely. "Stay here, I'll be back in a while." He stalked out of camp and into the wilderness.

"SHAH!" he called out to the monkey.

  • "But-" Willowpaw called after him. She prayed her friend would come out alive.

After the call. Something hit a tree. When it fell and hit the ground, it revealed itself to be Shah. He rubbed his head utnil he saw the tiger, at which point he sprang up and raced into the tree again, looking down,

"Do you need something?" he asked, "Where's Willopaw?"

  • "Yes, I need something from you..." He paused. "Help." He sat down and continued. "Willowpaw's paw is broken and I'm afraid that you're the only one that can heal her."
