  • Nicole and Lina stumbled up the hill. They were being chased by a squad of dracanae. "Ugh," moaned Nicole, when is this going to stop. Lina kept running. "We can stop when we get over that hill!" she snapped. The lead dracanae pointed at them with her spear. "There they are!" she shrieked. "Get them!" "Oh god," Nicole muttered. Lina drew her sword. "May as well go down fighting," she said. Nicole shrugged. "Oh, all right then." she got out her spear. The two of them then waited on the side of the hill for the monsters, ready to make their last stand.

Unless, someone came to help them...

  • An arrow sailed through two of the Dracanae and hey disintegrated. "Come on!" Angel told Nicole and Lina as she pushed them past a pine tree.

  • A bronze knife flew past them, hitting the lead dracanae in the middle of the forehead. "Oi!" a girl with red hair called, "be more careful!" She created another knife out of ice and tapped it with her fingernail. The ice cracked and fell away leaving another bronze knife.

  • Angel rolled her eyes and sent another arrow through a couple of dracanae.

  • Nicole and Lina acknowledged the strangers with a nod. They then drew their bows and arrows and started shooting at the dracanae. When they had all disintegrated, the two of them put their weapons away. "Thanks," Lina panted. Nicole sniffed. "Just in time," she muttered, "I don't think I was actually ready to die anyway." Lina looked at their surroundings. "Where exactly are we?" she asked.

  • "Camp Half Blood." Angel told them as she tapped each of the flowers painted onto her bow. It shrunk into a flower and she put in in her hair.

  • Nicole looked confused. "Uh, what is camp half-blood? I've never heard of that before..."

  • Miyuki simply let the last knife fall. "That was the first time I tried fighting with throwing knives. I thought I was gonna hit you for a second..."

  • "Be glad you didn't. It's a camp for special people. Let me guess, you've only had one larent, have ADHD or dyslexia or something like that?" Angel asked them.

  • "That's exactly right." Nicole muttered. Lina stared at her. "But, how did you know?"

  • "Same for all of us," Miyuki said. "At least you didn't have an oh-so-comforting twin," Miyuki said, rolling her eyes.

  • Angel shrugged. "The same is for most everyone here. Let me tell you this, either your mom or dad was a god." She told them.

  • Lina stared at them. "What the, but there's no such thing!"
Nicole looked at them weirdly. "Is this a joke?"

  • "Yes, there are greek gods, everyone here has one. My mom's Athena, goddess of wisdom and battle strategy. By the way, my name's Angel." Angel told them.

  • Nicole blinked. "Really, guys. Is this a joke."
Lina still looked shocked. "You're kidding."

  • "Yay, you just found out about half-bloods, also called demigods. That's what we are, my mom's Chione, the goddess of winter," Miyuki said, almost as if she was bored.

  • "No, and no. I'm being serious. If you don't beleive me, then you can just go and face a whole world of monsters." Angel said, then turned and walked towards the cabins.

  • Lina and Nicole stood speechless for a couple of seconds. Nicole was the first to speak. "Oh wow," she said.

  • "there are Greek gods," Miyuki said, "those monsters are proof enough. If you want to learn more, I'll stay. If not, I'll be going to find my boyfriend."

  • Angel pulled out a pen, and started to write Angel on her arm in ancient Greek. "What does that say?" She asked them.
