Coldpaw had enough of this! She was sick and tired of the clan just acting like Brightstar was the most perfect leader in the world when she wasn't! It was just one thing after another. First, Duckstar had died in that awful fire. No one could have predicted that the leader would've perished so soon- but he did and of course that meant Brightshine had to pick up where he had left off. At first, Coldpaw had really been excited to see how the deputy handled leadership and she had been glad she was a medicine cat apprentice to help guide the calico. But it seemed as though from that point forward things only got worse and worse and worse. When Brightshine had came back from moonpool as Brightstar, she had acted so different so fast. Coldpaw hated that about her. How it was just a sudden switch. At the time, Coldpaw had guessed that Coldpaw had just faked being fun and loving to gain her position and then gave up the theatrics as she gained her position. But it soon rang clear she had more sinister plans. From promoting Cottonkit as a too-young kit to an apprentice, and then making Blacknight her deputy when he had never trained an apprentice, to shaming Birdbones and having Ivy leave the clan. Plus, all the other things that happened behind the scene. Then Brightstar just 'came back' and the clan accepted her so quickly? it enraged Coldpaw.

With paws hitting the ground angrily, she'd storm her way into the warriors den where she had smelled Blacknight's scent passing through. her blind eyes were wide with anger as she instantly let lose and began to tell the deputy everything she was feeling. She didn't even care about the repercussions. "You know- I just think it's really weird how the clan just takes Brightstar back like nothing bad happened. Like- how dumb to you have to be?" Coldpaw began as she would trot forward to Blacknight. She didn't really care what he was doing or if he was busy or not, she just needed to get all these feelings of her chest right away so that she could feel somewhat normal again. All this rage was exhausting, especially since she carried the weight of the clan alone on her shoulders. She felt like she felt for them what they couldn't feel for themselves with intensity. "I bet that Sergei is the father of her kits too. I bet she betrayed our clan! How can you say you love Windclan and then go mingle with Bloodclan? I mean- those are ruthless and lawless cats and even if he isn't the dad she still wanted him here. For why? What meeting or arangment could be soo important she needed blood thirsty animals around her unborn kits? Why else would she call out for him as soon as she knew the babies were coming?" she said as she would begin to pace around in a circle in front of the clan deputy.

"I-I mean can we really even call her our leader if she betrays the clan? I guess you're a better deputy than I expected you to be but like... What about Cloudwatcher? or Lilypetal? Or Whitelightning? She doesn't even care about the warrior code at all! And you know who else doesn't? Birdbones! I love her 'n all, but she was with the medicine cat from Skyclan! What has Windclan come to? That now all we do is betray each other and break the code? It's like the ONE rule that we don't mess around as medicine cats and have mates and kits- but she betrayed that one rule? I mean- she actually left me to go and do whatever knows what for a few weeks!" Coldpaw was seething in anger, that was obvious. She wasn't normally one to talk so bad about her clanmates but she just couldn't help it. She felt like everyone around her was so blind and she just so happened to be the only one that could really see what was going on. Maybe Blacknight would understand. he had to! She didn't want to have this whole conversation all over again with someone who didn't understand her or would have the same reaction another cat may have. They might even call Coldpaw names for speaking out on her opinions! Granted, she would probably deserve it.

Her cold eyes would flicker down to where her white paws were as she continued to pace about and growl internally. her ears were flattened tightly to her head as the thoughts raced through her mind at full speed. "What if those kits are possessed? And what if Birdbones leaves to be with that Skyclan cat? What if she ends up with kits? A-and what if Ivy never comes home and Brightstar isn't normal again? What if this is all an act? I-I say we kick her out! Her and those kits! You can be the leader for a while and then you can pick a deputy and the clan will go back to normal. Then, we won't have any traitors! Right?" Coldpaw said as her mind filled with the endless ideas. Blacknight as Blackstar would probably not be the most amazing idea she'd ever had, but for right now it seemed like a great game plan and she thought Blacknight was pretty cool. "c'mon, I can't be the only cat that's thinking it! What do you think, Blacknight?" she'd say. Only then would she pause where she stood and perk her ears back up to face where the deputy may be standing. She had just unloaded a lot on him, and randomly too. She only hoped he felt the same she did. A little, at least.

// pls don't post until BLACKNIGHT posts <33 also, all IC opinions because I ADORE everyone's characters to pieces!

  • The poor deputy was going to lay down and rest for a bit when Coldpaw decided to storm up to him and rant about the clan. His expression went from shock to stoic. There's plenty of cats who aren't welcoming Bright with welcome arms. That's what he wanted to tell Coldpaw, but she continued with her rant and paced in a circle around him. He just gave in to the predicament he was placed into and sat down, listening to Coldpaw. At the mention of Sergei being the possible father of Bright's kits he wasn't surprised. He wasn't a moron. Bright didn't fancy any of the toms here, so it was obvious. He wanted to scream that Sergei was the father at Coldpaw because he definitely wasn't like Ivy had believed. Although, he held his tongue when Coldpaw went on about Bloodclanners being ruthless and lawless. I like how you're completely forgetting the fact that we housed Hemera, who was a bloodclanner. I don't see you wanting to banish Hemera or her kits, but then again Hemera is dead. Again, he remained quiet and took in what Coldpaw's words. Contrary to what she may believe, he wasn't angered by her words. In his mind, this clan was a whole bunch of hypocrites. Everyone went on about the code, yet they were selfish and broke it. For that, might as well toss the fucking code away.

Betrayal is always difficult. No one wants to be betrayed from a stranger of the ones they cared about. Especially loved ones, considering they knew you the best. That meant they were capable of hurting you into oblivion. Their words would not be a scratch, it would be a stab and a twist of a knife lodged in your heart. He couldn't tell you how many times he had been betrayed by those he loved and how many times he betrayed those who cared for him. At the mention of him being a somewhat decent deputy throughout this, his lips twitch into a small smile. An insult and a compliment at the same time. Hehe, I'll take that. Then, she goes onto Birdbones. He doesn't miss the rage in Coldpaw's voice. It is true that Birdbones broke the code and found love. Love is forbidden when it came to medicine cats. He didn't understand why it was a rule, but the clan cats really did like suffering. Masochists the clan cats were. Where he had lived before there were no rules when it came to love. No one cared who you loved. Love was love. Even if it was a twisted love, no one would bat an eye. Although, he could sense hurt from Birdbones decision to leave the clan, to leave Coldpaw. Without a doubt Coldpaw was thinking that Birdbones went off to be with Tawnydove.

Again, Coldpaw brings up the point that the kits may be possessed. He rolls his eyes in annoyance. The kits seemed perfectly fine as far as he was concerned. In truth, he was a little agitated that Coldpaw would be so cross with Bright's kits. Bright's kits were not at fault. Sadly, those kits would have to deal with all the hatred from other members because of their mother's decisions. Such a shame. To be cursed by Bright. Sergei? Personally he didn't care for the other tom. That tom was nothing to him. If he were to be cross with Sergei it would be leaving the kits to endure a curse. Birdbones having kits is by far the strangest concept to him, but he can wrap his head around why Coldpaw is paranoid. When trust is gone, what can you believe in anymore? I can't trust anyone. Everyone who I've trusted has hurt me. Mentions of Ivy interest him. Ivy may have been such a strange cat, but he did miss him. A little. It also seemed that Ivy had a profound influence on Coldpaw. Otherwise, Coldpaw wouldn't mention him. Tick tock, that's what it means to miss someone.

Kicking out Brightstar and her kits... I would say kick just kick Bright out, but that would just make things messier. Don't need kits wanting to kill me for driving their mother out or something. Heck, this Sergei would probably charge over here and demand the kits. Yeah, not the best idea. When Coldpaw proposes that he become leader and pick a new deputy doesn't sit well with him. As a matter of fact, it's the dumbest proposal ever. What makes her think that him becoming deputy would suddenly make everything okay? Cats would be left with a bitter taste and there would be some resentment that he kicked out Brightstar. It's a mistake to have so much faith in me. To be honest, if he were to choose a deputy it would be Cloudwatcher. The cat seemed sensible. Anyhow, he remained silent as she went on.

    "What do you think, Blacknight?"

He thought of many things. "Geez Cold, you've really be thinking about this a lot huh?" Obsessive much? He begins with a sigh, "Not everyone has taken back Brightstar like nothing has happened. There's plenty of cats that want nothing to do with her and speak ill of her, so you're not alone." It's a hard statement. Enough for the statement to leave them in momentary silence before he continues, "It really isn't a big surprise. Sergei is clearly the father. Brightstar has never fancied a tom from Windclan. Every cat would like their mate around when giving birth. She loves that blood thirsty animal. Although, you seem to be forgetting that we had Hemera in our clan. Hemera was a bloodclanner. A ruthless and lawless cat. When Hemera gave birth and Aspen came from Bloodclan, I didn't see you being upset then. In fact, you decided to help with Hemera's kitting. She may be dead, but you don't seem to be upset at the kits or claim them to ruthless and lawless cats."

He leaves it at that. He's not going to feed in to her rage. He's simply telling her how much of a hypocrite she is. How can she be okay with Hemera's kits and not Bright's? "As for Birdbones... It's not really about her leaving the clan for love is it? The reason why you're so hurt by Birdbones. Feeling betrayed by her, is because she hurt you. You're upset that she chose Tawnydove and not you. That she abandoned you." Abandonment... It hurt. It sucked. It sucked when you wanted the attention from someone, yet they threw you to the side. It hurt even more when it was someone you cared about and they said they cared about you too, yet they chose someone else. "You should talk to her. Speak your mind. Other than that... Everyone wants to be happy. Everyone is selfish, even if they don't seem to be. Both Bright and Bird knew it was wrong to take on mates from other clans, but that's what made them happy. I'm sure... You would betray the clan too, if you wanted to be happy. Happiness is what drives us to do many things. Unforgivable and unspeakable things. Either way, no matter what... The choices you make will come back and haunt you. Never forget that." Tick tock, you're haunted by them.

He shakes his head, as if trying to remove those thoughts from his head. However, he knows they will come back to haunt him. Figuring that is enough on the subject of betrayal, he moves on, "Okay, you're gonna need to relax. You're not thinking clearly. The kits were born and none of them were possessed. Birdbones or you would have gotten a dream or whatever to tell you one of them is possessed or something. Second, if Birdbones did choose to leave the clan to be with her mate, she wouldn't leave the clan without a medicine cat. That's all you need to focus on. Who cares if Birdbones leaves for Skyclan or has kits? It's her life. Actions have consequences. Third, we're going to look for Ivy no matter what. Fourth, nothing is normal with everything that's happened." He brings a paw to his temple and rubs it, trying to ease his nerves. He's never had to give advice or whatever this is to someone else and it's difficult. Ugh, who knew these things would be so tough? Time consuming too.

Again, he moves on, "Kicking Brightstar out of Windclan may seem like a good idea, but it's not. Even though some cats may be happy she's gone, there's still gonna be some anger. I mean, think Coldpaw. If you kick out Bright and her kits where do you think she's gonna go? Bloodclan, duh. She's going to be with those lawless ruthless cats and be with that blood thirsty animal." Sergei is that blood thirsty animal's name. What a strange name. "You're really just giving Bright the option to run away and find happiness. She's gonna be living it up in Bloodclan. Kicking Bright out is letting her off easy," he adds. What? You expected him to defend Bright completely? Wrong. He was simply being realistic here. After all, Coldpaw wanted his thoughts. He simply gave them to her. Although, he hopes Coldpaw would understand the hidden meaning of those words. Tick tock, to make her to stay is to make her suffer.

To move along rather quickly, he chuckles, "I hope you know I'm not a popular cat around here. Nice to hear you consider me a decent deputy, but I'm pretty sure most cats wouldn't want me leader around here." Not by choice anyways. He stares at Coldpaw for a moment, gauging her reaction. His intent is not to make her feel stupid, but to have her think. Right now, she has merely scraped the surface. The only thing holding her back is her rage. Her rage is what keeps her from obtaining clarity. "In life, there's always going to be traitors. Even if I became leader, I can't promise you a Windclan without traitors. No future leader or deputy can promise that. What you can do, is be strong enough that the traitors won't faze you." There's a semblance of hope in his words. Telling her to be strong, which what he did. He became strong and trusted only himself. In doing those things, he managed to make it this far in life.

He finally rises to his paws and makes his way to stand in front of Coldpaw. He slowly brings his paw to her head, "Whenever you wanna let out your feelings and stuff, feel free to come to me. Or not, whoever you're comfortable with really. Oh, and that's all I had to say."

How did Crowpaw feel about all this drama that had been frolicking around camp. Well for one he still wasn’t sure exactly what was going on, he had heard snips and snaps of conversations and none of it connected in his head. But he would like to know what the heck was going on. He was just a little slow with picking it up. Preferring to spend the dramatic days in the rolling fields. His grass flecked pelt was turning into the camp clearing when he noticed the angry medicine cat apprentice pacing in-front of the deputy. He tilted his head with curiosity, what was she so heated about? Then his ears were hit with the spite filled words, like ice attack in the name of Brightstar. He knew that the whole clan had reason to be mad at the treatment of other cats but Coldpaw was one of the cats that didn’t have much done to her personally. Besides maybe Ivy getting kicked out, which was bad he supposed. He wasn’t one to relate to others though so he didn’t know where to put “father figure being forced to leave” on a bad scale. He grew up without his dad around. His dad was in DarkClan, him and his mother were left in Windclan with visits to the border every so often. Although it seemed like ages since he had seen his father. He had things to tell him this time around, between his friendship with Tornadopaw and his mentor attacking him and giving him the slash resting on his ear - well maybe not that last one- maybe that his mentor is clan leader.
