. ❜ puma's appearance, just as his personality, is rough around the edges- the sort of thing most prefer not to squint at. it's easier not to ask why, exactly, he's as small as he is, or why his the bones in his legs often bend at awkward angles, or why his tail is crooked near the end, or why his bright yellow eyes are strangely clouded, or why his body is littered with scars big, small, and everything in between;

. ❜ due to his upbringing in captivity, puma has a plethora of physical abnormalities. he is much smaller than your usual cougar, and will likely still remain slightly below the average size for even a female mountain lion by the time he reaches adulthood. within the same vein, puma has very weak bones; bones which, having been broken many times, are weaker than ever. he has a permanent limp in his right hind-leg and is also much more susceptible to bone injuries, most notably in his ankles and elbows. as for his eyes, which are, of course, visibly off, puma should be considered lucky not to be entirely blind; he was not raised in total darkness, most importantly during his first few weeks of life, resulting in not complete blindness, but rather terribly poor eyesight. puma has poor depth perception, balance, and oftentimes refuses to rely on his vision, having compensated with increased use of his senses of touch and hearing.
