  • Lostkit settled, gazing up between the two cats. The warmth of the tree was so much nicer than the blizzard. He was glad Palestorm seemed alright with Grimgrin. His numb paws pricked as the warmed. He licked at his coat, cleaning it of snow and ice.

  • Palestorm dropped a small mouse that she had found in the tree and killed heartbeats before in front of the two cats as a peace offering. She was unsure when they last ate, and it would do no one any good if hunger turned to grouchyness. "So it does," she mewed, resting on the dead leaves and watching them intently. "But I suppose clans have stigmas too, right? I'm sure some cats call us pushy and aggressive, or high-and-mighty." She began grooming the snow from between her toes.

  • Skypaw shivered violently, feeling it harder to go on with every step she took in the icy tundra. Thoughts and dreams of sleep beckoned her at the back of her mind, tempting her to lie down and take a nap in the snow. Blinking painfully to block the wind the apprentice let out a yowl of pure despiration, she was finally willing to cry out for help.

    [14/20]

  • Grimgrin purred again at Palestorm's offering. "I wish there was something I could give you in return." Again, like when Lostkit and he were in the cave, he pushed the mouse to the tiny kit. Grimgrin was hungry, but he would last much longer than the kit could without food.

"I guess I had never thought of it that way." He watched the blue-grey kit eat the mouse in large gulps. "I guess neither way is perfect. Maybe the best way is to be alone..."

He wrapped his bushy black tail around Lostkit and settled down. "You seem well-adjusted to clan life. I take it you're old enough to be a warrior now?"

[font=verdana][size=7pt][color=#25DAB3] As Mint continued to rest, she felt something tap her head. Shaking her head lightly, she looked up to the white warrior towering over her small form. Looking up, she blinked her now clear teal eye's.[color=#80C498] "Huh.. Warrior kah.. How can I make a great warrior when I have no clan?"

She spat it out, today was quite the nostalagic day- to be snowed in by a blizzard; to meet a clan cat and make small talk like you both have known each other since kit hood.[color=black] Heh, I'm an odd one....

Mintsmoke was aware that he was trying to comfort her, and she was acting very mean but this is her second nature to talks like this.[color=#80C498] "Sorry.. For being so rude and all..."

She looked away, frowning slightly.[color=#80C498] "Thanks, for being nice.."

Heaving herself into a sitting position she started to give her front left paw a few licks.

  • The apprentice padded along slowly, feeling a painful tingling numbness in her paw pads. "...help!" Her pride was thrown aside as Skypaw screamed out. "Somebody!.....anybody..." The young she-cats ears flattened, it seemed like there was no cat out there in the middle of this tundra...maybe she would loose consciousness, even die out here.

    [15/30]

  • Palestorm nodded proudly, subconsciously puffing out her chest. "I've been a warrior for three moons now. It's great! I have this friend named Ashfeather--he's a warrior too, but he just became one and it's fun to teach him things." Her whiskers twitched. "What was--" but her meow was cut off by a thin wailing in the distance. She perked her ears. "Did you hear that? I think there's another cat out there!"

Well, crap. Sablepaw should have expected Morningdew to follow her out here. "O-Oh, Morningdew!" the she-cat's eyes widened, as if she expected not to be caught. ...Then again, her fur was black. How could she not be seen out here? It was as if the world had been put to sleep underneath a thick white blanket. Except, you know, instead of being warm like the mossy bed she slept in every sundown, it was, like, cold. And wet. And overall unpleasant.

She stared at her mentor with a steady, unfaltering gaze. "...Well, I could ask you why you're here, too. But I'm assuming you thought, 'Oh, Sablepaw's missing again, I guess I should go find her.' Right?" She breathed out a misty breath, something that stood out even in the flurry-filled gusts of wind. She shook her fur free of the white fluff, detesting the way it felt. "It's just, it's been a while since it's snowed so much. And everyone's going nuts over it, so..."

"Well, if you want the truth, I thought I heard someone crying for help somewhere..."

The she-cat stood still, her ears perking as if to listen for it again, but there wasn't a peep to be heard now. Odd, really... the thought made her worry that the source of the cry had already succumbed to the cold. Should she look?

Shaking her head to clear it from the distraction, she glanced back to her apprentice. "Regardless, you ought to head back once you're done sniffing around. Snow might seem like fun, yet it's a serious matter. I don't think we're too far from camp... but remember that you can never be too careful." Something akin to an amused smile crossed her maw, "I know how much you hate the cold."

Morningdew could sympathize with that. Her fur coat was pretty thin, considering her already-lithe body, and so she had even less resilience against the weather than her young trainee did. Any prey worth catching would be tucked in it's burrow by now, so once the warrioress was satisfied that no one was trapped on WindClan territory, she thought to return to the warrior's den and rest up herself.

Instinctively, Grimgrin stood guard over the kit. He pelt puffed and his eyes glinted. "Friend or foe?" he breathed.

  • Palestorm jumped to her paws and peered out of the entrance, ignoring the snow that got into her eyes and nose. "It sounded like a cat in distress." She looked back at the defensive tom. "Should we go investigate?"

    19/20

  • "Stay here," Grimgin whispered to the kit. "Don't let anyone it, and don't follow us."

He nuzzled the kit - this took him by surprise. He hadn't even intended to...

He smoothed down his chest with his tongue and returned the gaze of the creamy she-cat. "Let's go."

  • Skypaw let out a weaker yowl, feeling her legs buckle from under her. When the apprentice looked up beyond the howling winds she could see the glimmer of stars in the not too far off distance, a few stray tears froze on the spot to her cheek when she realized that this may be her final resting place. A few weak jerks got some frost off of her glossy black pelt, but there wasn't enough strength left in her to pull her out of this rut. "Starclan...don't take me now...." She rasped, barely above a mew. The young she-cat tried curling up to conserve warmth, trying to block any thoughts of death from her mind.

    [16/20]

  • Palestorm eyed the kit a little worriedly, before squeezing out of the entrance for a second time that day.

The ground had gotten thicker still, yet the snow seemed to be letting up, which was good. Which way...?

Thinking she had heard the noise coming from the east, she set off that way, glancing behind her to ensure Grimgrin was still with her. It was soon clear that they would be unable to find the cat without hearing more. "Hey!" She yowled, scanning the horizon as she did. "If you can hear me, say something so we can find you!"

OOC: THis is looking for Skypaw, by the way. :3 I have to go, but I'll be back in ten minutes.

    20/20

  • Jacky's ears perked forward. A cat in distress. "Finally, something to do," the dog barks. She shakes off the snow matted in her fur. "Here I come!" she barks, her tail wagging hard.

  • Hearing the sound of a dog somewhere in the distance, the apprentice tried another desperate yowl. If there was a dog loose, maybe she shouldn't have said a thing...but there was still a flicker of hope that maybe there was a cat somewhere in this deserted winter storm..if a dog got to her then Skypaw could only settle with the fact that the canine would send her to Starclan faster than the frostbite that was settling inside her body. 'If I die, I hope Birdpaw never has to see my body...' She thought grimly.

    [17/20]

  • Jacky sprinted closer to where she heard the cat. There, in the snow, half frozen. With a delighted bark, she leaped closer. Rather then attacking the helpless cat, however, Jacky began talking non stop in Cat. Deeply accented Cat, but Cat nonetheless. "Hi! What's your name? I'm Jacky! Do you have food? I'm hungry. And bored. But mostly hungry. Nice to meet you!"

  • OOC: Back! Sounds like Jackie's going to help Skypaw now though so...I'm not quite sure where to take this. xD

  • Grimgrin bounded behind Palestorm. This cat was on a mission. He hated to leave Lostkit, constantly looking over his shoulder to watch the tree. Stay in there...

"Can you hear us?" Grimgrin yowled. "Where are you?"

Luminescentpaw, now covered in snow, and now pissed off, trudged through the endless forest. She hadbeen out here for...hours? Days even? And not one sign of a cat to talk to. Now, she didn't care if she met a Bloodclan cat, she was lonely!

  • Jacky perked her ears. "Another cat coming. I wonder if they have food. Do you think they have food? I hope so. Food is good. You look cold. I'm cold, too. Why do you look scared? Is the new cat a bad guy? I don't like bad guys. Bad guys are bad. Bad bad bad. Bad."
