  • Paws kicked aside the sparse leaves as he trudged through the unfamiliar territory, poisonous spruce green eyes narrow as he found himself lost in the midst of someone else's territory. Despite the changes he'd gone through in life he always would be that curious little kitten, always wandering where he pleased and doing as he pleased. And yes that often did mean getting lost in places he shouldn't be. But it hardly mattered to him when he could probably fight off anyone that came his way. It didn't matter if they were warriors or apprentices or the leader or even the deputy. He'd been in enough fights to be considered a warrior already. Always fighting off rogues alongside his old best friend, running from dogs, barreling across thunderpaths and avoiding monsters when there were no twolegs around for him to follow across the crosswalk with. Z could do anything he put his mind to. Except find his way home apparently.

With a large paw and unsheathed claws the apprentice scratched the top of his head, brows furrowed as he looked around the brightly lit deciduous forest. It was nothing like Shadowclan with its little sunlight and tall, dark pine trees. This was a whole different clan's territory, he could tell that much. Maybe crossing the thunderpath out of curiosity wasn't such a great idea.

Shadepelt had been out hunting when the scent of an unfamiliar cat hit his nostrils - although he could certainly recognise them as a ShadowClanner. I wonder what they're doing here. Better not be stealing prey. The young male wasn't overly territorial, but if there was one thing he hated, it was prey theft. ThunderClan prey was meant to feed ThunderClan cats - it was meant to feed Shadepelt's friends and family. If this cat was stealing prey and refused to surrender it when Shadepelt demanded, it was likely that there would be a fight.

But of course, he didn't know what this ShadowClanner wanted. Perhaps he had come here to visit someone or something like that. Shadepelt didn't want to immediately think the worst of this intruder. He needed to know what was going on first, and so the small black tomcat started to head towards where the ShadowClanner's scent was strongest, bright emerald eyes scanning his surroundings, looking for any glimpse of an unfamiliar pelt.

Eventually, coming out from behind a cluster of trees, the shorthaired male's eyes rested upon the intruder. A muddy brown tom, with large ears, green eyes and a black bandana covering his lower face. He appeared to be a similar age to Shadepelt, though perhaps he had misjudged. Either way, this guy certainly wasn't one of his Clanmates.

The ShadowClanner didn't really seem to know what he was doing, judging by the way he scratched his head and the way his brows were furrowed. He didn't appear to have any prey on him, so Shadepelt decided against approaching him with immediate hostility.

"You look confused," the obsidian furred tomcat observed as he strolled over, an amused gleam in his bright eyes. He licked a paw, drawing it over his torn ear, his eyes still resting upon the ShadowClanner. The bandana he wore was quite cool, Shadepelt decided, and he wondered if he might be able to find one similar to wear. "This is ThunderClan territory. What are you doing here?" There was no aggression in his voice, just curiosity and amusement. Perhaps this ShadowClanner would be down for a conversation. It wouldn't be the first time that Shadepelt had hung around with cats from outside of ThunderClan in his own territory. If they weren't causing any trouble, he really didn't understand what the problem was.

  • »»» For as long as he had been living in the city as a loner, he remembered the unspoken rules of the clan cats. Don't cross the border, don't hunt in a territory that wasn't your own, and probably some others that he didn't care about. But the big one always was not to cross a border that didn't belong to you, not to trespass in another clan's territory. But ever since leaving Bloodclan at five moons old, he had never been weighed down by rules or forced respect. He'd been a free feline since the day his mother died, since his father and brother left. All he had was himself and he had not a thing to worry about more. But he was a Shadowclanner now. He was once again tied down by rules and it brought a sneer to his tattered lips.

Head turning to face Shadepelt with rabbit like ears twisting atop his skull he fixed a frozen stare of ivy green onto the Thunderclanner, answering the black feline's words with a click of his tongue on the roof of his mouth. Frankly, he didn't care that he was in Thunderclan's territory, it wasn't his problem if their borders weren't renewed enough. But if he must, to stave off a fight, he would nod. "Apologies," he answered in a voice far too gravelly for an apprentice, his words not meaning much as they were spoken in a hollow growl.

"I must not have noticed the border with the thunderpath scent."

    //it's all good! <3

Shadepelt was relieved to find that this guy didn't seem to be hostile. The last thing that Shadepelt wanted was a fight - mostly due to his secretly cowardly nature. He was a little surprised by how gravelly the brown tomcat's voice was - though, then again, Shadepelt's voice was very deep considering he was only ten moons, and he suspected that this intruder was around the same age.

"It's all good," the small tom settled down on the ground, licking a paw and drawing it over his torn ear, his bright gaze never leaving the unfamiliar cat. "I'm Shadepelt," the obsidian furred male felt a rush of pride as the name left his mouth. He was younger than the average warrior, promoted by Flamestar quite a few moons early. Shadepelt knew that many of his Clanmates disapproved of the molly's decision, but he had certainly been satisfied with it. The black tom was insecure deep down, and being given his warrior name so early had certainly given him a confidence boost - and although he would never admit it, it somewhat hurt him to hear so many cats doubting his position as a warrior. He was a good hunter and an excellent fighter, they had no right to question his rank within the Clan. The shorthaired tom then offered the ShadowClanner a slight smile, "And you?"

Shadepelt then ran his paw briefly through the fur on the top of his head, making sure that it lay down flat. Perhaps he fussed a little too much over his appearance for a Clan cat who messed up his pelt almost every day while out hunting, but if there was anything that Shadepelt hated, it was having a scruffy pelt. "Are you new to the Clans?" the young warrior asked another question before the ShadowClanner had even answered his first. "It would explain why you didn't know where the border was." His tone was teasing, though not necessarily unkind. Now that he knew that this tom didn't have any bad intentions, he certainly didn't mind sticking around to chat with him for a little while - he seemed rather interesting, after all. After speaking, the small tom patted the ground with a paw, gesturing for the intruder to sit with him.

  • »»» "I'm Shadepelt." Brows wrinkled together as lips pulled into a slight sneer beneath his bandana. Clan names never did cease to humor him. Some were so very literal and others made no sense whatsoever. This one was very clearly an instance of the former and it had him biting back a sarcastic chuckle. Clan names really were something that he'd never understand. They were a mouthful (similarly to his own name), but at least his name rolled off the tongue so easily. "Azhishchenkov. A pleasure," he responded coolly, taking his own seat, his shoulders relaxing in a slow, mocking manner. Shadepelt wasn't a threat. Shadepelt looked like a kitten with his wide shimmering emerald eyes and he acted all the same as he so naively allowed him into Thunderclan territory.

Drawing his tongue across yellow and red stained teeth beneath the black bandana he considered the question. No, he really wasn't new to the clans. Or did Bloodclan even count as one? It was a somewhat more organized group of rogues in the eyes of the forest cats. But then again weren't all the clans just organized rogue groups? "You could say that." He hadn't been to Bloodclan in a long time, nobody would remember him if he went back, he was sure of that. His mother was dead and his family was missing entirely. He was a rogue himself for that past five moons, he'd call it new to the clans. At least the forest clans.

"Oh, I could smell it, barely. Renew them more often," he'd absently toss forth the advice. If they wanted to keep roving gangs of loners or other clan cats out then they'd do well to remember this. Protecting ones territory was important, but protecting ones clan was considered even more important. If they couldn't protect their territory than how could they protect their clan?

Azhishchenkov. An interesting name, though Shadepelt thought that it sounded rather cool, plus it further supported his theory that the muddy furred male had originated from outside of the Clans, which was soon confirmed by the rest of the ShadowClanner's response. That was fine with Shadepelt - he had nothing against cats who had formerly lived outside of the Clans, or even cats who still did so. There were many different paths a cat could take in life, and Shadepelt found it rather narrow-minded of Clan cats to automatically assume that their way of life was the best one.

A smile tugged at the corners of Shadepelt's mouth as the intruder sat down, seemingly willing to stay around for a conversation after all. It wasn't Shadepelt's problem if this tom ended up disliking him, though he supposed it would be better to be friends than enemies. Something about Shadepelt's personality seemed to draw other cats to him, as he had a lot of friends back in ThunderClan and even a few scattered in different Clans. He wasn't sure why cats wanted to be friends with him, considering that he had a tendency to be quite rude and snappy, but perhaps he was just charming enough to keep bringing cats to him anyway. It was nice to have lots of friends - Shadepelt adored every one of them, though it also meant that he had more to lose. Sometimes friends would just disappear without a trace, and sometimes they got hurt. While Shadepelt didn't give a crap about most cats, the cats that he loved meant everything to him, and watching them get hurt agonised him.

The young warrior quickly snapped out of his thoughts, focusing on his mysterious companion again. "That's a cool name." Shadepelt commented, deciding that it couldn't do too much harm to voice one of the thoughts that had been fluttering about inside his head. Shadepelt liked his own name too, but he felt as though the suffix... didn't really suit him. But there was no point in worrying about that right now - perhaps he would change it himself in the future, for he cared very little for any 'naming rules' that his Clan had in place.

The small tom's eyes glittered with amusement as Azhishchenkov gave his advice. "I'll remember that," the ebony furred warrior assured him, his whiskers twitching as he spoke. "And I'll pass that on to my Clanmates, if they even bother to listen," he shrugged. "I'm a new warrior, so knowing them, they won't give a crap." Hell, Shadepelt wasn't even a warrior in the eyes of most of his Clanmates, but it was worth bringing up Azhishchenkov's advice. In an ideal world, there would be no borders, but Shadepelt knew that they unfortunately had to exist, and wanted to make sure that they were marked sufficiently.

Focusing on a piece of information that Shadepelt had already given him, the young male then asked, tipping his head to the side curiously, "How long have you been in the Clans for? Do you know how to do Clan stuff yet? I know that stuff can be confusing," Shadepelt wasn't trying to be condescending, he was merely trying to keep the conversation going. His green gaze briefly flicked towards a squirrel scurrying up a tree. Perhaps if the weather had been colder he would have tried to catch it, but Shadepelt was sure that he had already caught enough today - though the sight of the squirrel had given him an idea. "Like... can you climb? I know there are trees in ShadowClan, but maybe there weren't any where you came from..." Shadepelt was a good climber, though he was secretly terrified of heights - but he supposed that was better than nothing.
