  • THE EVERGREEN INSTITUTE

The Evergreen Institute is the first of it's kind, some say, as a place where athletes and artists join together to pursue their hopes and dreams. Based in London, England and partnered with the University of London as well as the Olympics Committee in over 50 countries, the Evergreen Institute is a place where students who wish to hone their craft come, and they are brought up as the up-and-coming stars of the athletic and artistic worlds. Whether you're a gymnast or an actor, a make-up artist or a football player, you are welcome at the Evergreen Institute, where only the best and more talented are accepted.

Here are a few notes regarding the Evergreen Institute:

-- All athletes and artists are in college or university, whether the University of London or a different one, and are expected to maintain high grades

-- Athletes in team sports practice with the sports teams around the city, or the international and Olympic-level teams for their respective country

-- Artists, especially in the performing arts, may work with others to create duos, trios, quartets, companies and so on

-- Transfers to the other stream are rare and require a great deal of paperwork, money and evaluations

-- Most students are here on scholarships and regular payment, though some are on full-rides

-- The Evergreen Institute sponsors and hosts tons of competitions, showcases, concerts and performances. All its members are expected to perform or attend. They represent their countries, and are sponsored by the Institute

    -- Everyone is welcome!

-- Nothing in the form is optional

    -- Please use realistic faceclaims

    -- Be active!

-- Try to add diversity to the thread, not just in ethnicity, sexuality and gender, but also in choice of specialization (i.e. having a dozen people playing the piano and one trumpet player is unacceptably dull)

AND ONE MEMBER (excluding coaches) PER PERSON MAYE HAVE A SECONDARY SPEC. They will focus on their primary spec; this is just because they are very talented and wanted the chance to practice both

    -- My word is law

-- Cussing is permitted, but not in excess

-- Be mindful! Trigger warnings where it is appropriate

-- These rules are subject to change

    -- Have fun!

  • NAOMI ROSE

"We laugh and we cry and we break, and we make our mistakes"

Naomi fidgeted nervously with the ends of her hair as she struggled to run a comb through it. She often preferred to keep it tousled for the sake of her usual look, but when one attended a gala in the heart of London, England, even a hair out of place was an offence. Naomi didn't want to be that person, so she wrestled with her hair nonetheless.

The changing room was a mess of girls, all of them struggling to put on make-up and dresses. Unlike the female athletes, or so Naomi assumed, they were putting far more effort and flamboyance into their outfits. Naomi admired each and every one, unable to suppress the little smile as she spied Brandish not too far away. Maybe her sister would be willing to lend her a hand.

Naomi rose from her chair, wearing nothing but sweatpants and a sports bra, and picked her way across the room towards Brandish. She tapped her sister on the shoulder to get her attention, a soft smile on her face as she held up her brush.

"Can you give me a hand?" Naomi asked softly. "I can't get some of the knots out."

    ADRIK SOLOKOV

"It's just life, so keep dancing through"

Adrik hummed some allegro or another to himself as he ran his fingers through his hair, tapping one foot in time with the imaginary tempo in his head. He glanced over his shoulder every once in a while, at the rest of the boys preening themselves for the gala. Adrik spied Ferdinand on the reflection of his mirror as he searched with his hands for the hair gel. He'd be riding with Ferdinand and Xander to the gala tonight, but he had no idea in what sort of vehicle. Xander had never elaborated.

"Should be nice vehicle," Adrik muttered to himself, his accent making his words all the more incomprehensible. Still, there was no one around, so he went back to his humming, longing to feel a piano's keys under his fingrs instead of hair gel.

Adrik ran his fingers through his hair, styling the curls as best he would and taking great care not to get even a speck of gel on his shirt. He hadn't even started to button it up yet, leaving his chest exposed to the air-conditioned change room. Some might consider it a bit chilly, with autumn rolling in, to be using air conditioning, but Adrik hardly noticed the difference. He never did.

    JAMIE MACMILLAN

"We'll go down in history. Remember me for centuries"

Jamie was over the moon. A gala! She loved anything which let her make friends, and a gala was the perfect place, especially as the year began. It was her first year at the Evergreen Institute, and she hardly knew anyone at all. The gala would be the perfect place to make some friends.

As Jamie touched up her mascara in the mirror, she glanced over her shoulder at the rest of the room. All the female athletes were gathered in one place, looking just a little odd in fancy dress instead of their sports uniforms or something more practical than high heels and long skirts. Jamie wondered what each of the girls did, and just how good they were. She half-hoped to spy the characteristically broad shoulders of a swimmer, but no one stood out.

Jamie sighed and turned back to the mirror, admiring her reflection. She smiled, her tongue sticking out between her teeth as she admired herself. She touched one of the earrings, silver and blue to match her dress. She hadn't put it on yet, but now was most definitely the time. Jamie tucked a curl behind her ear and headed to where her dress hung off of a locker.

  • MAURICIO ADAMAN CHATEAU — [bio]

A ball. Isn't that a fun idea? It was a while since he had gone to any formal dances like this. The last one Mauricio had probably gone to was his senior prom, and even that was just with his sister. It was nothing weird, of course. He was just protective of little Sie-Sie, and he didn't want to accept those numerous promposals from his sister's friends. Have a date to prom or make sure your sister isn't upset because of you? He would chose the latter any day. It was probably why the Hawaiian was now dressing up alone in his dorm, not needing to match his tie with some girl's dress or shirt to a girl's red shoes. He sported a smart, blue gingham shirt with a white blazer and pant, opting for a deep maroon handkerchief to tie it off. Mauricio didn't usually dress all too fancy, preferring a sweatshirt and shorts over fine china chino pants, or whatever they were called. However, Elliot had insisted upon having a clean outfit for tonight's ball and the Chateau brother could not refuse. Literally. Elliot had nagged him every waking moment and snuck suits into Maur's dorm until he relented.

Humming to himself, he polished his look with the wooden bead bracelet that Ferd made him, as well as a watch that Elliot so generously donated to him for the night. The guy couldn't take a break from being a nosy nuisance, could he? It wasn't like Maur wasn't appreciative of the designer's efforts, as he would have likely arrived to the ball in some bland tux if it weren't for the younger student. He just wished he had a little more breathing room. But there went $1040 to the charity of Elliot's overpriced fittings. The suit cost more than Mauricio's own surfboard, and that beauty was a fortune in of itself.

The deeply-tanned man fixed his collar just as he pulled open the door of his dorm. Elliot invited him to the party limo free of charge, being a "valued customer", and it would be arriving soon. He swiped open his phone to call his sisters, wondering if they too were roped into the business deal. If it was going to stop at the complex in the next 10 minutes, like it had said, they needed to get their asses down to the lobby. Maur opted to call Ona first, knowing that the younger of the Chateau siblings was far more likely to be late to the ball than his twin sister. Ever since they were children she was usually the one to drag them off schedule. Raising his phone to his ear, a smile lifted his cheeks as he spoke. "Hey shorty. You ready? The limo is coming in 10."

    ELLIOT MADRID NAVARA — [bio]

What a wondrous time it was to be Elliot Navara. The high fashion designer had recognized the market called the Evergreen Institute's ball and capitalized on it like a businessman on drugs. Well, he was a businessman on drugs, but he was a designer first and foremost. Elliot had snatched up customers quickly, advertising his brand throughout campus many months before the ball's date. In and out they filed through his loft like flies, exiting with a fabulous suit or dress of his making. He was sure to include elements of their specialities in the design process, as the dance was a masquerade party. One wouldn't want to go unnoticed for their strengths in the athletic or artistic fields just because of a silly mask. Oh, he made some of the masks himself too. The money that came in from those commissions were enough to pay for half of his year's tuition. How lucky he was that he already paid his tuition in full, and that any money he made now was just perfect for pocketing. The beauty of upcharging and networking, huh? It helped that he had such a persistent personality that his victims couldn't bother to say no. After all, most of the attendees were filthy rich. He was only helping distribute the wealth. Into his own wallet, of course. But one day, he'll do something for the community in thanks. One day.

The flamboyant designer had truly outdone himself in his own attire for the ball. Donned in a deep, navy blue suit with floral print and a snow white top beneath the blazer, he looked like something out of New York Fashion Week. The mask that he made to go with his outfit added just enough glam and extra that Elliot would definitely qualify to be on the cover of Vogue. He fitted the gold and black masquerade mask over his face, the large pirate-like extension covering much of his locks. Oh well. Just because no one could see his face didn't mean that no one could recognize one of the most talented fashion designers in the Institute. Making himself visible was just one of the many strengths he had.

Elliot stepped out of his apartment complex in full suit. While he had ordered the limo for his customers, he preferred a personal ride for he and his date. The gorgeous, exquisite girl named Madi. He had designed her dress as well and he would just love to point out how the colour of his suit and her dress matched to the T. He hadn't even used the same fabric. Elliot was extensively proud of his capabilities behind the design board. Clicking aimlessly into the dark with his keys, he heard the faint beeping of his car somewhere in the lot. His Lamborghini. If he were to dress like a king, why not live like one too? In his other hand, he dialed up the darling girl, hoping she was ready for him to swing by. "Hello you beautiful little thing. I hope you're ready for the time of your life?" His voice sultrily trickled into the receiver of his phone. There was the slightest amused tilt to his tone, evidence of the soft smile that graced his face. Elliot ducked into the low profile of his car before rolling down the hood, revealing himself to the warm fall air. Despite it being evening, the heat of London's day still lingered in the atmosphere.

    Adeline Griffiths/18/Equestrian

Her day had started out fantastically. She'd gotten her four-legged friend settled in his new home, they'd had a very productive training session earlier, she felt ready for the upcoming local competitions. This school was certainly opening new doors for her equestrian career, she had high hopes that she'd go far, especially with an eager horse like Da Vinci. Her precious Da Vinci. He had been a gift from her dad a number of years ago, when the gelding had been just a foal, she'd raised him, trained him, taught him everything, he was her best friend, he knew every little secret she had, good and bad. Nothing got past her equine companion.

Now it was the less exciting part of her day. Adeline didn't mind getting dressed up, but... ugh... heels were the worst. How did anyone walk around on these all the time much less for a few hours? Thankfully, these weren't too tall, and they were decently comfortable, but she was still unhappy about wearing them. She'd rather keep her heels down. She was forced to sit still as Brandish touched up her makeup, god knew she had no experience in makeup whatsoever unless it was dirt, forcing herself to remain like a statue. No twitching, no itching her nose or her cheek, nothing. "Waitwaitwait, Brandish, before you do anything else, please don't go crazy. I don't wear makeup that often, it always feels like I can't move my face." She mumbled with a friendly, but worried expression. She'd already asked about light makeup about three times, but the equestrian girl couldn't help but be worried about it. This was most definitely not 'her world'.
