  • at first, silver didn't think she would adjust so well. to a life in the wilds of the glorious fields before them. surely there were better ways of living a life of curiosity, if not wisely. she had been born on the outskirts of a farm. one of those ran by the no fur upwalkers. whatever their deal was, well she knew it wasn't really her concern, those no furs of course. now to the present, silverpaw prided herself for spotting a nice field mouse that had ventured too far from its burrow. tightly wound, powerful pulses followed her thoughts along a split second network of nerves and the glorious muscles in her compact lithe body. striking fast, teeth connected to flesh and a quickened snap ended its breathing. silently she whispered a small thanks for the life that would fulfill the necessary nourishment to her clanmates. it was but one mouse, but it meant a lot for them to survive and grow.

something she had to learn in the short time she had been apart of the clan.

a clan that became her home.

although it was only a total of a mouse and the unlucky thrush that had probably been attacked before and couldn't fly off when she had found it. in all the moons she had become an apprentice, one would think that she could have gotten faster. but her slender form wasn't built for speed. at least not yet. silver had time to grow still, being only shy of ten moons of life. but meant nothing till she continued to gradually improve her skillset. at least she was a better hunter than when she first made her first chase. that was not the fun run she thought she could have when her npc friend creampaw tried to help her learn how to hunt rabbits. settling into a nice pace as she entered camp, the creamy pelted molly set her kill with the rest of the catches. hopefully today she could relax and chitchat with the rest of her clanmates.

Ever since Coldkit lost her sight, she had been able to pay attention to so much more that went on around her. Her smell seemed to be heightened more than she ever knew it could be. She hadn't been sure if it was just her ears coming of age, or perhaps the fact she lost one of her senses. But she wasn't very upset about it, even though she missed her sight. So when she had smelled an unfamiliar scent, Coldkit followed her nose to it. This would have led her to where Silverpaw was walking into camp. The pure white she kit crinkled up her pink nose as she hoped to move her blind eyes to where the blur of color may be standing. "Stranger? What you doing here?" Coldkit asked, her white hairs standing on edge.

  • A light-hearted laugh sounded from behind Coldkit as Brightshine approached, bending her head down to nudge the child gently. "Silverpaw's not a stranger, silly," She mewed cheerily, casting a grin towards the apprentice that entered camp. Her eyes followed the two pieces of prey that were added to the pile, earning an impressed nod from the deputy. "Nice catches! You've earned yourself a break! You can tell your mentor I told you that," She'd add on with a wink, lifting her paw to groom. Perhaps she wasn't cut-out for this whole 'leadership' thing; she was far too focused on having fun and making others happy than assigning boring old chores to do!

  • "eh? coldkit... you already forgot me?" the silvery siamese frowned, she knew the young kit had quite an ordeal but she should remember her own clanmate. right? she certainly didn't smell like a stranger after being on the moors with the clan for nearly five moons already. at least she hoped she did. "uhm... came here when i was about your age... i shouldn't smell like anything but windclan." but she wasn't wrong, part of me still feels like a stranger. she thought.

turning to one of her favorite role models in the clan, silverpaw was certainly excited at the praise. of all she would't have expected to hear anything about the measly little catch she had. and for sure, it more than enough to send her into a tizzy, a metaphorical, faint blush touching her slate furred cheeks. with bright eyes focused at the multicolored molly, silverpaw gave an ambitious smirk. "just you wait, i'm not just a former kittypet! i'll become a deputy like you were and a leader better than windclan has ever known!"

fired up by such flowery words, one would think it was merely all in her head. but the young siamese truly had her goals in mind. she'd get there somehow, once she made her breakthrough. "if only my mentor was around enough to actually give me the break." seemingly withdrawing a bit into herself, she plopped onto the ground, fiddling with and increasingly interesting blade of grass.

Brightshine knew everyone! Coldkit wished she had a knowledge that large of every cat that walked in Windclan or had walked in Windclan. No matter who it was, the deputy knew. "Oh, hey Silverpaw." Coldkit said, trying to suppress her laughter. It was slightly embarrassing she didn't know who the apprentice was, but what could she say? She was a kit and she was blind! As Silverpaw spoke, Coldkit's ears flattened to her head as she raked her brain for the memories. "Honestly- I don't remember much before this past moon- guess I'm too small still... That's what CLoudwatcher says anyway every time I go to the border... Brightshine too!" Coldkit said, trying to smile in whatever direction the deputy was. The alabaster kitten would then hear Silverpaw talk about being deputy, interest sparked up in her ears. oh how she wished she hadn't lost her vision so she could follow through on her dreams to be leader! "Hey! I always wanted to be leader and deputy too! Maybe you can be the next leader, and I can be the deputy! Coldstar and Silverstar!" the kit hummed, excitement flashing through her lifeless eyes. It was more of a game than reality, and she now knew that. She was getting older and it was almost time she stopped thinking such crazy ideas. But not yet.

  • Brightshine's grin grew wide as the apprentice voiced her ambitions, her tail curling over her back happily. She loved that Silverpaw had a dream! She herself never saw herself leading WindClan, but here she was! Surely if she did it by accident, the younger molly could easily get there if she tried! "You'd be an amazing leader!" She chimed in, her high-pitched voice rising even higher with delight. Black ears swiveled down to hear Coldkit's words and she chuckled lightly, squinting her eyes shut in amusement. "I'd bet you two would make an incredible team leading the clan one day."

  • Silverpaw smirked as she delivered a silly huff in front of her newfound friend. "I would consider it if Coldkit would do it." The siamese molly purred softly. She really liked how kits were so simple and fun to be around. Settling herself in front of the deputy, the molly grinned. "I'll become your deputy's deputy someday. Bet on it! Windclan will be known for a great leader like me! Silverstar!" But then she realized she needed to know how to hunt and fight better before she'd be able to contribute anything. Right? Gee, what a long way to go. But the ten moon old apprentice had her sights on it. She would do what she can for now at least.
