    The Darkclan warrior was proud to receive her first apprentices. The responsibility felt like it resembled something more to her as if they had recognised her as fully part of the clan. Although she was still taking care of the Copperbeak kittens, they were old enough to be left in camp alone and often preferred it that way. In saying that, she and their father had worked out a routine that would result in the two being free whilst keeping track of the children. On this day, it meant an evening lesson with her apprentices, Pitchpaw and Serenepaw. Cranemask waited by the entrance of the Darkclan camp for the new apprentices to show up. She shuffled her paws nervously, thinking through what they were going to do and honestly she was a little unsure. It was getting pretty late so whatever it was it had to be plausible in the dim lighting. They could go for a simple patrol and test their knowledge and specifically what they knew about the Warrior Code but that sounded kinda boring. Just because she was becoming a mentor didn't mean she'd had to become an old boring fleabag.


    As the idea struck her she saw one of the apprentices approach her and the older she-cat was up on her paws bouncing over to her apprentice with excitement. A little unprofessional but who was going to scold her for that. "You ready for your first lesson?" she asked her soon to be new friend. Yes. Cranemask wasn't really cut out for the stoic mentor and eager apprentice trope but more of the buddy, slightly mischievous type, and it didn't take her long to break down her facade and let a kit-like smile rest on her maw. "We're going to test your smelling and hearing. We'll take a walk to the edge of Darkclan territory and we can talk, you can tell me what you're excited about or scared but then! By the time we get there it will be dark and we will make our way back and I want you to tell me about what is around us okay?" It was a little unorthodox sure but it was her style of teaching and frankly she found it fun! She just hoped Pitchpaw and Serenpaw did too.
