  • *:・゚➵ Wolfrunner sighed as she looked at the mass of mulling chickens before her. While she had to admit the constant clucking and messiness of the birds was annoying, she was still mildly sad to see them go. But that was the job assigned to her so that was the job she would do. "Ok everyone, time to get moving" She yowled, trying to figure out the best way to get the birds to move. Yelling didn't seem to work very well, and the birds had grown accustomed to the windclan cats so spacial pressure alone wouldn't do anything. The lilac she-cat huffed and sat back on her haunches to think. finally she jumped, her thick fur puffed up around her back and spine, and crashed into the flock hissing and spitting. "I said get moving!" She growled, and her words seemed to finally get through the chickens' head because they scattered and shuffled towards the camper entrance. That's it.

  • the corners of ivy's mouth curled back in a grin, as laughter bubbled up in his chest. he's seen chickens before plenty of times on his travels. they all seemed like they were living the good life: sleeping, wandering around, eating worms. he was surprised to see that they'd made their home in windclan when he first joined though. maybe this was like... a part of some tradition. did starclan tell them to chase those poor birds into camp? and now, to banish them even though as far as ivy was concerned, they were just kind of vibing? whatever the reason, wolfrunner looked like she was having a lot of fun with it. ivy padded forth, shifting his gaze from the chickens to the calm and collected warrior beside him.

"would you like some help or is this a starclan ritual?"

  • "Yeah, get moving you nasty chickens!" the voice seemed to come out of nowehere, but it was nonother than Coldkit herself. "Shoo! Shoo!" she shrieked as some larger chickens flapped their wings in displeasure. She wasn't doing much, it was rather the larger cats that were doing all the work, but in her head she was being just as helpful as the next cat!

  • *:・゚➵ Wolfrunner paused herbattemot at chicken herding to turn her gaze to ivycoil, her narrow face cocked at her question. "A starclan ritual?" She mused, sounding confused at the thought. After a moment, though, a sky smile spread across her maw. "Oh yes, it is a very important stepping stone Inna cat's life. On their eighteenth moon they must drive the clan chickens out to pasture, and drive them home again the next day." She explained in an all too serious tone, holding her head high to highlight that it was a great honor. And then came coldkit, barreling into the fray without a care in the world. Wolfrunner's ruse was forgotten as her face lit up at the sight, racing off to continue her task of pushing the birds away from camp.

  • "i see! awfully noble of you to partake in such an admirable task!" ivy commended her, before turning to watch the chickens scrabble about. he'd only just joined, but maybe.. if this was a part of living in windclan, he could do it sometime. he wondered if this was something that wolfrunner had to do alone. after all, it seemed like a very important and personal task!!! but upon sighting coldkit and her boisterous response to it, he figured aw why not? better eighteen moons late than never, he supposed!

"get outta here then, yellow-bellied cowards!" he snickered, clumsily scrabbling after the chickens as they skittered away with alarmed clucks. what a wake up call! man, maybe this starclan thing really had some substance to it.

  • The more paws, the better! Upon seeing Wolfrunner, the kit let out a small excitable squeak. Finally, they were getting these chickens out of here! SHe could barely contain herself! And then when she saw Ivy, she really couldn't. "Ivy! Look at me getting these guys away!" she said, jumping down to shoo a chicken, only for it to stare her right back in the eye. "Go on, you!" she said, but the chicken didn't move, rather started pecking at her whit paws. "Hey- go! Go one!" Coldkit yelped, trying to scare it away with no luck. A look of dismay covered her face. She was smaller than the chickens but that hadn't mattered before! Why wasn't this one listening? "A little help here?"

  • ivy laughed, skidding to a stop as nearby chickens scampered to the camp entrance. "yeah-a!! thats right! you show 'em whos boss around here!" he cheered, green eyes crinkling with delight as he watched coldkit confront one. this one was a stubborn fellow though, and ivy watched with amusement as it persisted despite her efforts. "hmm isnt this one cheeky. here, you just gotta give them a lil.. pat on the back." ivy bat a paw at the chicken's feathery body, which sent it skittering away a few feet with some indignant clucks. it didnt get very far though, still lingering in camp. "now you go give em the ole wackadoodle!"

  • Wack them? The small she-kit watched as Ivycoil sent the chick flying, and couldn't help let out an excitable, yet fearful, gasp. She hoped dthe poor chicken would be okay! She felt bad for the thing as it squawked and ran off, she hated that it had to act like it was in so much pain. "You didn't hurt you did it, Ivy?" she asked, eyes wide as she watched more chickens cross their path. "I mean- it's okay if you did, I guess they have to move. I think- I think I would just feel bad if I had to hurt them to make them move." she said. But as another chicken came up to her, she gave it a small tap with one of her claws out, and like it had done with ivy, it squawked and ran off.

  • "huh? no, of course not! just be sure to sheath your claws if you dont want to scratch the buggers." ivy assured coldkit, amusement playing out on his features. it was sweet that she worried for them. he knew from experience that chickens were really just over the top though, the one that he'd gotten hadn't even ran off that far. "and don't put too much force into it either, i know your paws pack some real power but lets save that for the rabbits and maybe cloudwatcher." ivy looked on as the kitten whapped a chicken, and then cheered when it scurried off. "haha, thats it!!"
