And I hate being alone — tags

Owlpaw really wanted to go home.

It was very obvious that ThunderClan didn't want the SkyClanners in their camp, and more than that, Owlpaw just missed her camp. She wanted to curl up in her nest, to hunt in her own territory again. More than anything though, she wanted to see Aspenpaw. Two of Owlpaw's siblings - Ternpaw and Elmpaw, had come to ThunderClan with her, but Aspenpaw wasn't here. She could be anywhere - frightened, hurt, hungry, dead, and Owlpaw didn't know. Although perhaps it sounded cruel, the young she cat decided to just keep Aspenpaw out of her thoughts - it was easier than worrying about her constantly. Hopefully she would be reunited with her sister soon.

The young she cat had been alone in camp, trying her best to avoid all ThunderClanners and, by extension, SkyClanners as she didn't really feel all too comfortable around her own Clanmates. But then spotted someone she did feel comfortable around - her brother, Elmpaw.

For a while, she didn't go over to him, as she wasn't especially in the mood to talk, but then Aspenpaw slipped into her mind. Was she suffering right now? Had her suffering already ended? Owlpaw didn't want those nasty questions in her head, and so she decided she might be better off talking with her brother to block out the worrying thoughts. Padding across camp, she called out, her voice much louder and friendlier than usual as she found it easy to approach the tom, "Hey, Elmpaw!" She pressed herself against her brother's shoulder.

    "Can you feel my heart?"

  • Hey, Elmpaw!

Elmpaw tensed unconsciously before he properly registered the voice calling out to him. Owlpaw. His sister. The tall tabby visibly relaxed as she pressed against his shoulder. He leaned back into her, a relieved smile replacing his serious expression. He knew Ternpaw and Owlpaw were both in ThunderClan as well, but he hadn't had the opportunity to have a real conversation with either since arriving. Adjusting to the strange territory and crowded camp had kept him busy enough.

Still, it felt strange to have one sibling beside him and another probably somewhere nearby while the third was simply gone. Missing. Not forever, of course—at least, the young tom hoped—but how would he even know if anything happened to the last member of their litter? She should have come with us, he thought, not for the first time.

Wherever Aspenpaw was, though, at least he had one familiar face beside him. He allowed a little sigh to escape him. "Hey, Owlpaw," he replied, a little more subdued than his sister. "I can't believe we're still stuck here."

// sorry for taking so long to reply!

Owlpaw was glad that her brother was here, along with Ternpaw, too. She couldn't imagine staying in ThunderClan alone - she would be terrified, and she was uncomfortable enough here as it was! "Me neither!" The small she cat exclaimed, glad to be talking to someone she could actually voice her opinions to. She knew that all of her Clanmates were sick of taking refuge in ThunderClan, but she didn't really have the confidence to go up to them and to talk to them about it. But with Elmpaw, everything felt easy. She didn't need to hide her opinions from her brother - on the contrary, she quite enjoyed sharing them with him.

"I can tell they don't want us here, you know," the black and white apprentice continued. It was blatantly obvious that at least half of the ThunderClanners were quite unhappy about SkyClan being around. She didn't blame them for holding such opinions, but at the same time, it still frustrated her all the same. The Clans were meant to help eachother in times of need after all. "And I get why, but seriously!" her voice was slowly turning into a resentful growl. She had a lot of pent up anger when it came to these ThunderClanners, and she was struggling more and more with every passing day to hide it. "It's not like we want to be here in their stupid camp! I'd give anything to just go home!"

After her slight explosion, the young molly spotted a pair of NPC ThunderClan warriors glaring at her, ears pricked, whispering to eachother. Owlpaw pressed herself further against her brother, wrapping her long tail around his shoulders, her small ears flattening, upon realising that they had likely heard her entire rant. While Owlpaw's voice was quiet when talking to those she didn't know well, around cats she was comfortable with, her voice became quite loud, which had likely happened in this situation for example. She could feel her fur heating up with embarrassment, and she muttered a, "Sorry." in the direction of the ThunderClanners, not able to even meet their angry eyes.

Owlpaw then murmured to Elmpaw, "Should we leave camp?" Her voice was hopeful. She didn't like being here, so close to these ThunderClanners. She knew she would feel much more comfortable outside of the camp.
