  • Seeing rats so close to the twoleg place... It was scary! Nasty little things, their gnashing teeth and glittering eyes of... of hatred! Cherry sat on the edge of her fence nearly every day, her heart worried for those who lived in the forest beyond the line of her fence. Were they okay? She had heard countless tales of cats that came together in a group called Skyclan; fiercesome warriors that ate bones of the cats they defeated! But... That didn't stop her worrying.

Padding through the tall grass of the loner lands, the kitten-fluffed child wildly looked around as the bell on her collar chimed. Yup. She decided to go help them herself! After seeing an abandoned treehouse campsite all... overtook by rats... The thought made her shudder, she could only hope that they didn't lose anything or even anyone. "Hello?" she'd meow out, slightly fearful for her own life. She had never been this far before, in fact, the confines of her fence was all she knew. She was scared.

  • Virgo hated feeling so trapped in the loner lands. It reminded her too much of her life before Skyclan; harsh and bitter. She found nothing better to do than pace nervously, every now and then going out to try and hunt something to keep them going. Virgo heard the chime of the bell before Cherry's quiet call. She went to investigate, surprised to find a kittypet. "H- hello," Virgo smiled, shoulders still tense as she watched Cherry. "What do- do you, ah, need, dear? This is... is awful far out to g- go."

  • The snow-based calico leaped in the air at the voice, eyes wide as she crouched to the ground, flattening her ears with the most fierce growl she could muster out of herself. Her shoulders slightly relaxed as Virgo approached no further, her heart racing as she hesitated to speak. "I am... Cherry! My name is Cherry," she nodded, now standing up tall as her voice shook. I won't let myself be scared! She wasn't afraid, she... wasn't... afraid...

She took a deep breath to calm her shaking legs. Would they deny her? Oh dear... She was so far away from home, what would she do? She could barely hunt... What would her housefolk do? "I wanna help you guys! If- If you're apart of Skyclan. I- I saw the rat problem..." she spoke so fast that she stumbled over her words, nearly choking on spit before she looked at the female with pleading eyes. You can't turn me down now, please!

  • Juniperstar was close behind Virgo- he'd be obtuse to not feel her restlessness and discomfort at their current situation, and he would attempt to slightly brush her with his kinked tail. Though, most of his attention- the sharp gaze of his grey-green eyes- was set upon the kittypet. She'd come a long way... Twolegplace was where they had first discovered the rats, and now they had been ejected from their home by the damn things, forced to retreat to the southern border. His mother's grave was along that border- he could only hope the rats had not found their way that far, trampling all of the lavender he left there.

She admitted that she wanted to help... and in his cynical closed-mindedness he wondered whether they could afford another mouth to feed at the moment. On the other hand.. they needed all the help they would get. "If you wish to help us... then you have to live amongst us as a Skyclanner." he said, green eyes cold though interest dwelled tangibly within them. "It isn't easy. Certainly not at the moment. If you recognise and accept this, then I will allow you to help."

  • Pretty crystalline eyes would rest upon the snow-based calico as she bounded forward, coming up somewhere beside Juniperstar and sitting back on her haunches. As someone who had been in this child's place not too long ago, Natalina was somewhat skeptical of this one's readiness to be out in the wild, but she didn't speak on the matter. The flame point birman could never understand how someone would want to join in this time of crisis - if she had noticed this issue going on had she been coddled by her twolegs she probably wouldn't have left. Though maybe this child was the same as her? The medicine cat apprentice silently studies the other, offering her a soft friendly smile and glancing toward her leader as he spoke, curious to see how this would all unfold.

  • There was a new cat who approached, one who commanded respect in his posture, in the way he looked at you- Cherry was about ready to crumble under the fragile tower of confidence she built so hastily. "I know it isn't easy, and I know it will never be easy," she held a pleading tone in her voice, her bell jingling against a pastel pink collar. "But I am willing to try. Those creatures, they haunt our housefolk streets. I want... I want to make it easier for you guys, for my friends back home!" she felt her confidence raise ever so slightly, her chest puffing out. Then came a pretty cream point and Cherry swore, if cats could blush, her face turned red. Her smile was now forced and she avoided the others gaze, her pelt prickling as she turned to stare and mess with the bowtie on the collar.

aspen already liked this kid. she knew what she wanted to do, and she was going to do it. or so it seemed at the moment, at least. there was a chance that cherry would go back on her words, and then that would be that. but that was no way to think while greeting a new potential clanmate. "you'll join us, cherry? that's pretty cool. we could use the extra paws." she said. "i'm aspenpaw, by the way."

  • There was a vitality about her, despite her pleading tone. She looked at him with eyes that told him she truly wanted to help, rather than being a thrill-seeker ready to bail on them the moment it got mundane. He hoped he would not have to spit those words back, someday, but to keep his sanity intact he held onto the hope that would not be the case. "Fine." he murmured, stony and impenetrable. His face and gaze were unmoving, only his lips flickering to say, "Happy to have you on board. Aspenpaw," he looked to the apprentice, "Show Cherry some... defensive moves. I can't assign her a mentor right now, but she needs to learn something."

  • //not sure if the @ worked so link for cherry! :^)

neat. juniperstar respected her enough to let her train the new kid. as he should, of course! aspen was a brilliant example of an entirely reliable cat, except that she wasn't. but this? this was something she could do. "roger that, juniperstar." she turned to cherry again. "maybe you just wanna get settled in first, and that's chill. come find me when you're ready, though."
