╰ ‣ the reason demeter is pretty is because she looks so unnaturally ethereal. she has a beauty that is hard to find, seeming to receive the best traits that her genetics can offer. she is a complete combination of both her father and her mother, seeming to pop out as a half-junebug half-sangria creature. unfortunately, with such good looks comes a biting tongue and sharp wit.

demeter has inherited her mother's heterochromia, something she believes is a sign from helios that makes her special. maybe it even makes her destined to be a queen. one eye is a sky-blue, at first glance a startling view considering the contrast of her right eye. the right eye is similar to her mother's but lighter, a pink that you'd usually find in flowers or a soft sunset. this odd color combination is something she's at first insecure about, but convinces herself it's special due to her 'royal' bloodline.

her pelt is long and soft, usually very groomed as she's big into personal-upkeep and understands the importance of appearances. her coloring is very similar to her father's: a cream base coat with darker brown markings around her face, paws, and tail. there's also dark brown found around her muzzle, but it ends before the tufts of her cheeks, which are cream colored like most of the rest of her. demeter's f2 savannah genes reveal themselves in the darker cream spots that run down her back and freckle her face. this blend of her mother and father creates an ethereal look fit for a princess only of her caliber.

you would think the blend of her genetics would end here, but no - demeter seems to have inherited all the mutations she can get. she's born with her wings, though they're weak and can't pick her up off the ground until she is apprentice aged. they're not bat-like in the way sangria's are, but more humming-bird-esque in shape and size, which is why she isn't able to use them for so long. the coloring on them is similar to her body, the base a cream color that fades into a darker brown about half way through, and becomes darkest at the edges. when extended, you can see faint spotting that appears on the rest of her body.

later on in life, she will inherit the million family horns, but not in the way most other millions have. instead of ram horns like arya or bull horns like ver, demeter grows antlers. they take a while to come in and they way they do is very similar to a deer - the messy shedding and bleeding isn't a pleasant experience for the intelligent, book-loving girl. at their full height, they stand pretty tall and powerful, making what once seemed like a meek and docile young girl look like a powerful woman.

╰ ‣ it seems that from the day she's born, demeter is confident about her intelligence. maybe it runs in her bloodlines or maybe it's because she takes to reading and writing quickly, but she is incredibly sure of herself and her knowledge. this trait paired with the confidence of being a leader and deputy's daughter makes for a disastrous one- she constantly finds herself in arguments where she believes she's superior. though she tries, it's very hard for her to make friends as a child because of these traits. she's a know-it-all at heart, but will learn throughout her life that things aren't so black and white to a point where she will always be correct in her actions.

demeter is very motherly and protective of her family, perhaps being manipulative in the way she will twist reality to defend their flaws. she really only accepts her immediate family as that (i.e direct grandparents, uncles, etc.) and scorns the fact that her family 'adopts' members (unknowing her father is one of said adopts). she lives and dies by the saying "blood is thicker than water", seeing those outside her family as infinitely lesser than herself and her siblings. that being said, the betrayal of a family member would probably give her a heart attack. demeter takes the idea of family very strongly, and should her siblings show more affection to others than her, she will feel strong feelings of anger and jealousy. if she could make a clan with just her family in it, she'd do it in a heartbeat.

demeter has a lot of traits that the young sangria had, but it seems she deals with them in a less kind way than her mother did. she's very controlling and tries to take hold of every situation, getting really overwhelmed and anxious when she feels in trouble or out of control. when she's frustrated she takes it out on anyone she wants, often times throwing a temper tantrum if things don't go her way. she has everyone's best interests at heart, but her selfish nature usually takes hold over her kinder or softer traits, making it hard for her to function as the kind people her parents are. over time, she will try to model herself after them in an attempt to have more people like her, as she realizes she'll get nowhere in life if everyone is caught up in her bad traits.

she also tends to be a chatterbox - she'll ask you a million questions and shows stubborn persistance until given the answers she's asked for.
