    HONEYBEE!

Social interaction had never been easy for Owlpaw. Perhaps it was due to her being born outside SkyClan, meaning she had only joined at five moons, that had made socialising so difficult for her. Even though she had been here several moons now, she still felt like an outsider. She didn't really have any close relationships with the SkyClanners besides her siblings, who had joined SkyClan at the same time as her, and right now, they were nowhere to be found.

Owlpaw didn't really feel like leaving the camp, not by herself, at least. Maybe her siblings were out training or something, or hanging out with their own friends. It often frustrated the small molly that her Clanmates found talking so... easy. They were constantly chattering, laughing and joking around. And yes, that was the sort of relationship she had with her siblings, but no one else, and that hurt her.

The longhaired black molly was lying down in a fairly quiet corner of camp, watching her Clanmates go about their daily activities through bored blue eyes. She could see two apprentices about her age playing a rather exhilarating looking game, and she longed to join them, but the words just wouldn't leave her mouth. They weren't her friends, and therefore, she wasn't comfortable in their presence. After all, they probably wouldn't want her joining them anyway.

And so, the she cat simply continued to lie down, hoping that her siblings might return to camp soon so that she had someone to talk to. Although she didn't want to admit it, she was lonely, and really wanted another cat to spend some time with right now.

    "Can you feel my heart?"

  • Natalina was very different from Owlpaw. Much more outgoing, much more loud, and very approachable. She thrived off communication with others - it was the whole reason she had put her paw down and stayed in Skyclan, even at the disdain of Flint and her brother. She had adapted to clan life well and was thriving, despite the fact that she wasn't the biggest fan on her mentor or her newfound position. Still, it was better than being off with her filthy twolegs.

It seemed the medicine cat apprentice had a knock for reading her clanmates, even more so the grumpy or quiet ones. She passed the black molly from a good distance as she was carrying a few bundles of herbs into the medicine den, crystalline blue orbs subtly studying her. When she had carried out her duties she'd poke her head out of the den, noting that the slightly older apprentice was watching two other apprentices. Her head cocked slightly and she approached on a whim, seeing as there was not much else to do.

The pretty apprentice sat down next to Owlpaw, glancing down at her with an amused expression. "Why don't you go join them?" Nat glances back up at the two playing, her ear flicking in their direction as she rasps a tongue over her fluffy cream pelt, smoothing down the fur that tickled her chin. "You seem to want to." She didn't know Owlpaw, but she could see the minor longing in the eyes of the other molly, as well as the discomfort that radiated off her. Natalina guessed she was awkward and quiet, though only time could tell she supposed.

    ( thanks for making! )

    //you're welcome!

Owlpaw nearly leaped out of her fur as another molly sat down beside her. Natalina... she hadn't really spoken to the pretty she cat before, but she seemed to be quite social, which was quite intimidating for Owlpaw right off the bat. Cats like Natalina were cool, because they could actually talk to others and make friends, and Owlpaw immediately found herself worried that she would make a bad first impression, or that the creamy furred apprentice might quickly get bored of her and leave her alone again. Maybe that was for the best - that way, Owlpaw wouldn't have to struggle to find the words to answer her, and she wouldn't have to use her brain so much. Though on the other hand, perhaps it would be quite nice to become friends with a pretty, outgoing apprentice such as Natalina.

She looked at her small paws shyly upon hearing the other apprentice's question, embarrassed that her thoughts had been read so easily by the other molly. Owlpaw was quick, perhaps a little too quick, to deny what Natalina had suggested. "No!" she exclaimed, perhaps a little too loudly. She quickly lowered her voice as she continued, "I don't... I just zoned out."

Great. That probably hadn't been the smartest way for the little she cat to respond, and Natalina would probably think that she was weird now. And if Natalina thought that Owlpaw was weird, the medicine cat apprentice would probably either force herself to carry on talking to Owlpaw out of pity, or just flat out leave. Owlpaw felt as though the latter was the more preferable option. She didn't want anybody to be friendly with her just because they felt sorry for her - Owlpaw only wanted to be friends with those who took a genuine interest in her.

    "Can you feel my heart?"

  • The she-cat's startled demeanor nearly startles Natalina, but not enough to make her jump. Instead of outwardly expression such uncomposed behavior, the former-kittypet merely laughs quietly, a melodic sound of the softest utterances. Fluffy tail comes to curl around her paws as crystalline orbs study Owlpaw again for a fleeting moment, gaze then returning to the playing apprentices. "What's your name?" Nat asks softly, tongue lolling out of her maw as she yawned silently. Absorbing all the medicine information was quite getting to her, and she needed a companion to talk to so she'd chosen this troubled-looking feline. She hoped she wouldn't regret it.

Owlpaw wasn't sure whether Natalina's soft laughter was a good or a bad response, but it was surely better than the medicine cat apprentice mocking her, or flat out leaving her. At the other molly's question, the black and white feline answered, "I'm Owlpaw." She wasn't surprised that Natalina didn't know her name, she was hardly well known in SkyClan after all, usually sticking to the edges of camp as she was doing right now. It wasn't common for her Clanmates to approach her, and when they did, they usually got bored of talking to her fairly quickly, or found the entire situation too awkward and opted to get as far away from the young molly as quickly as possible. It did hurt Owlpaw a lot, but she understood. She was hardly the easiest cat to talk to.

"And you?" She was pretty sure this cat's name was Natalina, as she'd overheard a few cats calling the molly by such a name before, but she didn't want to get her Clanmate's name wrong - that would be embarrassing. Besides, it might seem a little weird if Owlpaw already knew the molly's name. Owlpaw paid a fair bit of attention to her Clanmates even if they generally didn't pay much to her, and she knew the names of quite a few of them. Natalina in particular was especially easy, as she lacked a Clan name unlike most of the SkyClanners, plus her rank of a medicine cat apprentice also helped Owlpaw to memorise the pretty she cat's name easier. But despite all this, Owlpaw still asked the question, not wanting to seem weird.

    "Can you feel my heart?"

  • Natalina isn't exactly surprised that she doesn't know her name, but she is a little hurt. She was so perfect and pretty - why were they not absolutely dying to know who she was? But she supposed that's what this molly was inquiring, so she simply offers her a small smile. "I'm Natalina. I'm new around here." It was the truth - she hadn't been here long and yet for some reason she'd been chosen to become a medicine cat. Her tail comes to rest around dainty paws, twitching idly as she looks down at the other she-cat. Owlpaw was an interesting name... she didn't know why she was named it but it was pretty cool. Then again, Nat didn't really seem to understand any of the naming trends around here.

She gets to her paws, unsure if Owlpaw is just shy or doesn't want to talk to her. "C'mon, lets go down to the river by the border. I need some fresh air." She casts the offer out lazily, walking a few paces ahead before mischievously looking over her shoulder.
    "I'll race ya."

Ah, so this molly was Natalina, as she had... well, pretty much already known. It was unusual that she lacked a Clan name, though Owlpaw supposed it was by personal choice, and she for one certainly didn't have a problem with it. Owlpaw too had joined SkyClan quite recently, having been born outside the Clan, and found that a lot of Clan traditions just didn't really suit her. For a start, she didn't even believe in StarClan. She knew that wasn't exactly terrible, but the majority of these cats did seem to believe in StarClan, and she felt rather nervous about voicing her lack of belief as a result of this. Owlpaw understood that StarClan played a huge part in Clan life (though she had also heard plenty of worried cats talking about how StarClan was 'gone' or something).

"I'm new too!" the small cat sounded a little too enthuastic with her response, a nervous smile appearing on her face after the eager response. It was nice to know that there were other cats here who were new besides her and her siblings, though deep down, she knew that her situation and Natalina's weren't quite the same, as unlike her, the pretty birman molly was, well, sociable. "You seem to have settled in well though." Perhaps her observant was incorrect, but it certainly did seem that way.

Owlpaw rose to her paws at Natalina's invitation to go down to the river. She still wants to talk to me? The longhaired apprentice's paws tingled with excitement. Maybe Natalina could be her friend after all.

    "I'll race ya."

For a moment, Owlpaw considered rejecting Natalina's 'race.' She was a slow runner, her short legs combined with her ridiculously low stamina meaning that she didn't stand much of a chance of reaching the river first. But there was something about the other apprentice's challenge which had exhilarated her - what harm could really come of it? It was just a little race. Besides, if Owlpaw was going to make friends, she needed to be more open to activities like this. If she made herself look like an idiot, she'd just have to laugh it off, no matter how difficult it was to do so.

"Sure," she answered. "You'll probably win, but it's worth a try." The black and white molly swiftly padded to Natalina's side, slowing down once she was next to her, waiting for some sort of signal to tell her that the race had started. It hasn't started already, has it? She thought to herself worriedly.
